Hello Warriors :-) Looking to the atrocities happening to women in our country,

Crime against Women can be major issue in SSB for lecturette in GD or Lecturette.

Topic : Crime against Women

Introduction : These are the crime committed especially against women which can
be in the form of Eve-teasing, Extortion, Molestation, Dowry, Domestic Violence,
Female Foeticide, Rapes by an Individual or by a group of people.

Who is Responsible :

1) Parents : Starting from the grass root level, it generally begins at home, as they
women right from her childhood are treated as "BURDEN", she sees a male
preference at her home, she is deprived of any freedom which is enjoyed by her
brother. Whenever a woman reports to her parents about a certain eve teasing
case, Most of them, rather than taking action against the goons, they start doing
fault finding in daughters, force them to wear body covering clothes, change the
route of travelling and sometimes it even gets worse when parents tell that "certain
action of her" would have invited them, otherwise why would they do on there on.
They are treated as a curse on the family, right from her birth parents start worrying
about the expenditure that will be required in her marriage. In rural areas they are
even killed in the womb or post birth after there sex determination with consent of
parents.

2) Brother/Husband/Father : no matter how much rules they will enforce on there

sister/wife/daughter, as soon as they step out of there house, they start treating
them like SEX COMMODITY, they will never leave a chance to ogle at a women,
passing lewd comments, misbehaving in a crowded vehicle and public places is a
routine process for them, but once they spot somebody doing the same with there
family members, they forget everything what they do.

3) Workplace : They are not even left at the offices, there sup-ordinates asking for
FILTHY FAVOURS, in returns offers promotions, incentives or hikes, she does not feel
secure working late hours in the office, not only with the goons but also there
colleagues working with them. If the women opposes either she is threatened for
deadly actions or chucked out because she did not fulfilled there desires

4) Society and government : India must have reached 21st century, there would
have been lots of schemes, reservation for the women, they do a lot of talking of
women empowerment, but "JUST ON PAPERS", from inside they still believe men are
the dominating power of the country, women are just the supporters, they are
always overpowered with a mentality that the men are superior to them, to the
crimes committed against women the people and government feels that stepping
out late in the night, wearing clothes of there choice, remaining stylish to look
beautiful are the main causes of it, if a woman is friendly, the men thinks obvious
that she will satisfy his urges and he can easily take advantages.

5) "Women" : being "EMOTIONAL" by nature, a woman never wants to bring

dishonour to her family, may it be at the stake of her self respect, 80% of the
domestic violence, eve-teasing, molestation, extortion, dowry cases are not
reported, she thinks that if her name or identity is being revealed her family will
loose respect in the society. There are few of the cases when even 1% of women
being a loose character, makes life miserable for rest of the innocent women, face
the troubles. They don't want to give birth to a female child because she would be
blamed for bringing the burden into the family, and they are equally a participant of
female foeticide.

Actions to be taken :

1) Change of mentality : the males should treated them equally not only on the
papers, but also in there mind, they should not be a treated like a commodity for
sex. Its high time that men should start respecting women. This will give them selfesteem and dignity in herself.

2) Opportunities : around 75% of women does not get the quality of food, education,
or area of working, parents should treat there sons and daughters equally, Husband
should stop restricting the women into the four walls and a mere child giving
machines, they should allow them to work as they do, there should be no bounded
duties for women, the couple should together hold all the responsibilities. Same In
workplaces, there are should be no women specified working area, they should be
allowed to work anywhere, there are should be strict monitoring on employees for
women security. This will increase there boldness, will break the shackles of
traditional women and will make them feel equal.

3) Security : The women should be imparted with free self defence skills free of cost
by government, frequent patrolling of the PCR vans should be made to keep a check
on eve-teasing. Large scale CCTVs should be plotted to monitor the people's
movement. Female escorts should be deployed in the trains, buses specially in the
odd hours. Cyber laws should be made strict, to keep a check on misusing a
woman's identity on internet, This will make them feel safe and secure.

4) Law and order : Strict actions should be taken against the cases of molestation,
extortion, rapes, female foeticide, dowry, tinted glasses should be abolished from
the vehicles, criminals with prior record should be monitored, Hospitals should be
blacklisted on account of sex determination, Women fast track courts should be
established to solve criminal cases against women at a speedy rate. "We care for
you" like body should be made in every part of the country. This will bring assurance
in the women of government's working.

5) "Women" : it is ultimately a fight for her own, she should become more aware of
her rights, report crimes to the police, raise a voice against atrocity committed
against her, they should stop treating themselves like pitiful creature, who has to
sustain all this because she is a women, TAKING INITIATIVE TO SOLVE THERE OWN
PROBLEMS WILL BE THE FOUNDATION OF STOPPING CRIME AGAINST WOMEN.
