1. Common Nouns - are any person, place, or thing. Common nouns are capitalized only when
they start a sentence.

2. Proper Nouns - are the name of a special person, place, or thing. Proper nouns are capitalized.

3. Concrete Nouns - are names a thing that is tangible (seen, touched, heard, smelled, or tasted).

4. Abstract Nouns are idea, a condition, or a feeling or simply said, something that cannot be
eaten, seen, heard, or smelled.

5. Compound nouns - are nouns made up of two or more words. Some compound nouns are
hyphenated. Some are not, and some combine their words to form a single word.
