Euro road bitumen is produced from vacuum residue, which is produced on bitumen unit if it is
necessary, by the specific process of blowing air at the particular temperature and under the particular
pressure vacuum residue is converted into road bitumen.

V APPLICATION
Euro road bitumen is applied in road maintenance for road making, as base bitumen for industrial
production of polymer modified bitumen and as feedstock in industry for the production of insulation
materials and the like.

VI PRODUCT QUALITY AND COMPOSITION

Product Specification for Euro road bitumen was made in accordance with Standard EN 12591:2009 and
UP-03.03.01-011: Instructions for Preparation of Product Specifications of the Refining.

NAFTAGAS.

VII TRANSPORT
UN number: 3257
Euro road bitumen is dispatched and transported by tank trucks and rail tank cars.
Minimal temperature of road bitumen during tank trucks filling should be 180 oC for blown bitumens
EURO BIT50/70 and EURO BIT70/100, and 145 oC for bitumen EURO BIT160/220.
Euro road bitumen dispatch is possible in cold state in containers. Bitumen temperature in containers
during dispatch is bellow 100 oC. In this case bitumen is not classified as dangerous substance.

VIII HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling Keep tanks firmly closed. All valves shall be closed. Eliminate all potential ignition sources.
Ground and connect tanks during loading/unloading. Prevent contact with eyes and skin. It is necessary
that loading/ unloading be performed only at the prescribed locations in the specified tanks and that
proper equipment and devices be applied by professionally qualified and trained personnel. Prevent
bitumen from coming into contact with water.
Storage In properly constructed and equipped tanks. Prevent contact with the oxidizing materials.
Special instructions on safety precautions in case of an accident are stated in Safety Data Sheet.
