Coronation Night
By: Ivan Hyde

The Coronation night is held

at Magsaysay Covered Court on
Jan. 16, 2015 and is planned to
start at 6 oclock but started one
hour later.
The Coronation is hosted by
Ms. Joy Yogawin, Ms. Laura
Escalona and Mr. Pepito Maycong.
That night started like any other
event, the Entrance of colors,
Doxology, and the Singing of our
national anthem. But this year our
very own Drum and Lyre Corp
performed their exhibition numbers
to everyones amazement. Their
uniform is one of its kind and it has
a sophisticated look and the
performance was eye catching.
Afterwards the Grand entrance of
the gorgeous Beauties and Escorts,
Adorable King and Queen 20132014, the rest of the Royal Court
2014-2015, Parents, Faculty and
Staff, Crowning Guests, and the
board of trustees.
The
guests
include
our
Honorable Congressman Jeffrey
Khonghun, Hon. Claude Dalit Sr. SB
Member of Castillejos and Hon.
Jovito
Pascual,
Magsaysay
Barangay Captain. They are so
generous for sharing their time on
this occasion with us and made the
occasion more special because of
their presence.
The Awarding of certificates,
pinning of Sashes, Awarding of
Trophies, Awarding of Garland /

Bouquet, and crowning commence

for the Royal Court, and the
beauties and escorts of 2014-2015.
Special presentations from our
stunning and talented guests,
selected and talented pupils of
annex
and
main
campuses
performed their best interpretation
of our Filipiniana dances. The
performers
have
surpassed
everyones expectation and we are
all in awe and at the edge of our
seat during their performance.
The night went on for two
and a half hours and ended with
the drawing of raffle tickets. The
night as successful but it could be
better if no one left after the
performances and it would be nice
on behalf of the parents of the
other candidates that didnt make
it to the Royal Court, because of
monetary cut-off, if their sons /
daughters got a certificate of
appreciation for at least trying and
joining.

sound accompaniment, also were

number of personal vehicles that
joined the motorcade. They said
this motorcade is a bit shorter
duration wise than previous parade
but was the longest convoy to
date.

When the Coronation night is

done and the parade is held the
following day at 2:00 oclock
Saturday, January 18, 2015.
The parade started at PCMZ
Main Campus to Castillejos town
proper and made a turn to San
Nicolas and exit to Del Pilar, then
headed to San Antonio, go through
the barangay streets where the
Queen lives and back to PCMZ /
PHSZ campus.
The parade
consisted of three floats, one for
the king and queen, one for all the
Prince and Princesses, and another
one for the Beauties and Escorts
together with High School students.
There is also two trucks for the
PCMZ Drum and Lyre Corps and
one for the PCMZ Annex Drum and
Lyre Corps that both provided a
real head turner with their beautiful

I think everyone had fun,

especially in our float. We all had a
blast, bonding, waving at crowds, a
dance step every now and then,
the silliness of us that made
everyone smiled and laughed. It
was one great experience for
everyone we got to show off our
King and Queen, Prince and
Princesses,
the
Beauties
and
Escort, and both the Main and
Annex PCMZ Drum and Lyre Corps
who performed so well on their first
time. Id say this was one very
successful event.
We would like to thank
everyone for all the support, time
and efforts, and money spent on
this years PCMZ King and Queen
and Beauties and Escorts, the
PCMZ/PHSZ Administration and
Staff, our dear parents, and our
teachers. We can never pay
enough for your care and support
for all of us especially the High
School Department.
Im looking
forward what the next year brings,
I may not be here then but Im
pretty sure Ill find out about it.
Congrats everyone for a job well
done, and a pat on the back for
doing our best!!

National reading month

By: Aaron Rodden

School of Zambales) celebrated

this by gathering every Monday at
8:00 A.M sharp in front of the
school for flag ceremony and
reading of educational stories such
as The Rainbow and Palaka at
Kuneho. The stories were read by
the school principal Mr. Leonardo
Andrada as well as some teachers.

Teachers Day
By: Aaron Rodden

In 2011, the Philippine

Department of Education declared
through Memorandum #244 that
November of every year was to be
National Reading Month. It is
celebrated to promote the Filipinos'
love for reading and in support of
the 10-point education agenda of
the Aquino Administration and the
promotion of Every Child a Reader
Program (ECARP). November 27
was declared to be National
Reading Day. Many activities were
planned by the Department of
Education such as Adopt a book,
My Own Story, and Reading
Camp.
In light of this, schools all
across the Philippines celebrated
this in various ways. One school in
Zambales (Precious Heritage

World Teachers' Day, held

annually on October 5th since
1994, commemorates teachers
organizations worldwide. Its aim is
to mobilize support for teachers
and to ensure that the needs of
future generations will continue to

be met by teachers.Over 100

countries observe World Teachers'
Day. The efforts of Education
International and its 401 member
organizations have contributed to
this widely spread recognition.

Traditionally in the
Philippines, Teachers are presented
with orchid corsages by students
and they may perform short skirts
or song and dance numbers, or
read poetry for their teachers in
front of fellow schoolmates.
September 28 was chosen because
it is known as the birthdate of
famous Chinese philosopher
Confucius.
The 10th grade students of
Precious Heritage School of
Zambales, threw a surprise party
for the teachers and staff of the
school by offering beverages and
food, as well as some dancing. The
reason was because the students
wanted to celebrate and appreciate
the teachers for all their hard work
and dedication to the school.
I personally enjoyed it as we
all had a good time because we
had a chance to relax and share
jokes and stories.

Family Day Celebration

Last December 18,

2014 students and teachers of
Precious celebrated the Family Day
and it started at Magsaysay Cast.
Zambales at 8:00 A.M.
Before we celebrated
the Family Day, first we gathered
near the canteen for a program.
There were special numbers from
Casa to grade 6 the pupils sang
Jingle Bell songs for our guests and
you can really feel the Christmas
spirit while they are singing. After
that our SSG President Kyle Gavin
Dizon with the SSG members
delivered a speech where he
highlighted the completing of their
project, the Glass Bulletin Board.
High school students performed

Voodoo doll by Chenzen Gabinete,

Eric Matias, and Angelico Magno
and they sang it very well just like
the original song. They also looked
like they was a real band
performing for us. Then 3rd year
Girls danced among them was
Jenelle Basilio, Rica Matias, Kim
Cordovis, and Recca Beltran. They
danced gracefully and its very
catchy you can see their wonderful
smile while doing what they want
most dancing, it was like their
favorite past time. Then finally the
4th year students sang Last
Christmas. We sang it terribly, we
were out of tune and so
embarrassed about that were like
dunk singers but still we laugh at
our self enjoying the even were
bad at it. Sir Andrada save a
message for the occasion. After
that we all eat until we were full it
was like a feast in a Kings palace
even we were not blood related, we
look like a big family. Followed by
the openings of the gifts for us we
all had a great time. Then suddenly
we heard something down stairs. It
was Sir Andrada singing. I think
that was his favorite song as he
was good at it. Deliver the song
with no pressure in him, then after
that home sweet home.

That day we all enjoyed

even if the party was a little bit
short in time. At least we had our

happy family day with our friends,

teachers, and families.

Art Workshop
By: Sonia Marie Balanay

On October 21, 2014

students of Precious had their art
workshop in our school it started at
10:00 in the morning.

The day started like any

other day starting with the flag
ceremony and followed by few
lessons then we were called by the
employees of Pandayan book store
to do the activity. Pandayan staff
came over to our school they
taught us lot of things starting with
the flower vase. The material used
was colored paper and a rope like
that we unrolled and used for
decor. They also taught us how to
make flowers made out of corn
leaves with their wire and the
outcome was so beautiful. It
became a rose that looked like a
real flower. There was also art
activity in elementary department
which was a coin bank that they
made with cardboard and small cut
outs of art paper as design. The

elementary pupils enjoyed it. The

teachers were happy when they
saw their students working hard
and helping one another to finish
their art activity. When Pandayan
staff saw my work they appreciated

it because it was gorgeous and

neat. The students who were
attentive during the demonstration
enjoyed doing the art work while
others who got bored didnt finish
their art work

Working in activities was fun

fielded learning experience and
you can use the finish product
event for decorating. Recycled
materials in can also be used in art
work.

Dr. Jose Rizal, our national hero,

was a nationalist. He truly loved his native
language. He wrote his first poem in the
native language entitled Sa Aking Mga
Kababata ( To My Fellow Children ). He
revealed his earliest nationalist when he
paid, Ang hindi marunong mag mahal sa
sariling wika ay higit pa sa hayop at
malansang isda.

We have to love and enrich our

national language as this is the only
means where all over the country can use
in communicating with each other and will
unite us all Filipinos. Thats why the

This picture was taken last

September 22, 2014. I, Sonia Marie
Balanay, a 4th year student of Precious
Heritage School of Zambales, competed
and joined the District Oratorical Contest
at Castillejos Municipal Hall.

The title of my piece was, Not

yet Rizal! Not yet! The piece was all
about Rizals life and education. I didnt
expect that I was the one chosen to
compete in that contest because it was
my first time to join such contest and the

time frame of preparation was then very

short because the contest was about to
begin about 2 days from the day they
choose me so I was then very nervous
and I didnt know what to do. During that
time my adviser taught me all the proper
pronunciation, proper gesture and
proper delivery of oratorical piece. My
trainers Maam Joy Yogawin and Maam
Paet were very supportive and patient to
me although the piece was about 3 full
pages and it was difficult for me to cope
on the situation of being the one to
compete on that oratorical contest.

They gave me a one day rest and

my teacher Maam Joy trained me on
that day September 21, 2014, she was
very prompt and very practical so I did
understand all the messages. On the
first day of training, it was hard for me to
memorize all 3 full pages but I thanked
all the very supportive mentors for their
support until the time I was ready to
compete for the oratorical contest. They
prepared everything for me, Ate Alice
gave me a salabat juice and I did
appreciate it. Maam There Largadas
applied make up on me and I was very
beautiful on that day.

We were five contestants who

came from different schools and the
crowd of guest, teachers and principal
officers was at Municipal Hall roof top.
The contest begun and when I delivered
my oratory piece I forgot a line and but
then I still continued and I delivered it
nicely and with full gesture and gladly it
was over. Now the final judgment came
and I was surprised when I was in 3rd
place on that contest, the winner is
came from the school of Balaybay and I
was vert glad and overwhelm, my heart
was full of joy and I thanked all the
people who were behind me on this
contest.

I have learned a lot from that

competition to be positive always
despite some obstacles and the
outcome will be a good one. I thanked
all my theachers, my parents, my
trainors Maam Joy Yogawin and Maam
Paet and also Sir Leonardo Andrada
and Maam edna Clarin for their support
and encouragement.
