died, it has been announced, Friday, Dec. 7, 2012. AP/Alastair Grant
LONDONA nurse at the hospital which treated Prince Williams pregnant wife Catherine was
found dead on Friday, days after being duped by a hoax call from an Australian radio station, the
hospital said.
The private King Edward VII hospital named the nurse as Jacintha Saldanha, who had worked
there for four years, and said it had learned of her tragic death with very deep sadness.
The hospital did not comment on media reports that she had committed suicide, while police said
they were treating the death, which happened at a property near the hospital, as unexplained.
We can confirm that Jacintha was recently the victim of a hoax call to the hospital. The hospital
had been supporting her throughout this difficult time, the hospital said in a statement.

According to the latest forecast, Pablo was moving east-northeast at 17 kph, although Loiz said
the typhoon was expected to accelerate in the coming hours.
Once it hits land, we expect that there will be less rainfall intensity and that the typhoon will
weaken and eventually dissipate, said Jori Loiz, a weather forecaster with Pagasa.
Fourteen provinces in Luzon were placed under storm alert on Saturday as Typhoon Pablo
veered back toward the country and was expected to hit land this Sunday morning.
The weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric Geological and Astronomical Administration
(Pagasa) estimated that Pablo will make landfall between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. in Ilocos Norte
Sunday.
As of 4 p.m. Saturday, Pablo was located at 230 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, with winds
of 130 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 160 kph.
Loiz said provinces in northern Luzon should brace for stormy weather as Pablo began to turn
around to hit land anew.
Pablo, with center winds of 160 kph and gusts of up to 190 kph, slammed into the east coast of
Mindanao on Tuesday morning, slicing west-northwest across the island as it blew toward
Central Visayas and Palawan.
The most powerful typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, Pablo left 456 people dead, 533
missing, 455 injured and hundreds of thousands homeless in nine regions of the country.

Earlier, Enrile said RH bill proponents in the Senate could not force a vote on the measure since
some senators were still proposing amendments to the bill.
A Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) official on Saturday appealed to the
faithful to pray for Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile in the wake of reports he may be ousted
from his post for opposing the reproductive health (RH) bill.
The President once again (is) calling the congressmen and women to a luncheon meeting. He
will push for a vote on the RH bill, Castro said.
We have also received a report of moves to oust Senator Enrile as Senate President because of
(his) opposition to the RH bill, he added.
Fr. Melvin Castro, executive secretary of the CBCP-Episcopal Commission on Family and Life,
urged Catholics to pray for Enrile to keep his job so the RH bill would not pass in the Senate.
He noted that President Aquino would be meeting with the lawmakers on Monday on the RH
bill, which the Catholic Church vehemently opposes since it promotes the use of artificial
contraception.
We beg you to pray (to) Our Lord through Our Lady to thwart all their plans. O Mary, save our
country from danger. We are yours. Help us in this hour of need, he said.

But Gen. Ariel Bernardo, commander of the 10th Infantry Division, told the Inquirer by phone
that reports reaching him indicated only six soldiers were missing from the two platoons.
Contact with the platoons had not been established as of 4 p.m.
Inquirer bureaus in Mindanao and Cebu, in reports attributed to local officials, and civil defense
authorities put the initial death tollmainly in flash floodsat 42 and another 24 unaccounted
for. Most of the deaths were in New Bataan in Compostela Valley.
Thats what happened in areas in Mindanao raked by powerful Typhoon Pablo before dawn
Tuesday.
Blown in the wind. Deaths in flash floods.
Pablo moved swiftly on its predicted path, sending roofs flying off houses, hectares of coconut
trees tumbling, rivers bursting their banks, canceling flights and ferry services, church bells
ringing and sirens wailing in a large part of Mindanao where the Category 5 storm passed.

In Manila, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said two
Army platoons with possibly 66 soldiers were unaccounted for.
Benito Ramos, NDRRMC executive director, said each platoon had 33 soldiers. He said the
command post of Charlie Company of the 66th Infantry Battalion at Barangay (village) Andap in
New Bataan was reportedly washed away in a flash flood.

lalawigan at pagbabakasyon.

bagong SC justice. Beth Camia

Kabilang sa JBC shortlist sina Court of Appeals (CA) Associate Justice Rosmari Carandang, na
may pitong boto; CA Associate Justice Jose Reyes Jr., pitong boto; CA Associate Justice Noel
Tijam, anim na boto; CA Presiding Justice Andres Reyes, anim na boto; Government peace panel
chief negotiator Marvic Leonen, pitong boto; dating Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla, pitong
boto; at De La Salle University Law Dean Jose Manuel Diokno, limang boto.

Pangulong Benigno S. Aquino III.

bilang pork barrel.

Two hundred congressmen ang nakatanggap ng sulat from COA tungkol sa kanilang
PDAF.
