Boston Tea Party

Characters:
Daner- King George the Third.
Selena- Samuel Adams, official leader of the Boston Tea Party.
Lester- random colonist.
Erica- Narrator
Scene One: The Buildup and Reason.
Narrator- Life in the colonies is hard. Taxation is large. King George has a strangle on
the colonies economy. Several rebellions have happened all throughout the
colonies. Philadelphia and New York will not allow British ships to port. The people
are fed up with King Georges taxes.
Daner- I am King George the Third. You are my colonies. You want to live under me;
you have to live by my rules. You dont like it? Well too bad. Taxation without
representation is what the great nation of Great Britain has decided on and you
have to follow my orders. I am superior after all.
Lester- This has to stop. We cant live under the Kings shadow forever. He is taking
advantage of the colonies resources and our hard work, by putting taxes on tea. Tea
of all things.
Selena- Indeed, we British love our tea, but what can we do? We are under his rule.
Lester- I say we destroy the next shipment of tea with other townspeople, to stand
up and lead a rebellion,
Selena- I dont know, that sounds bloody risky.
Narrator- A plot seems to be brewing up in Boston. Is this finally the kick in the butt
the king is asking for?
Selena- Its all set and done. The evening of December the 16 th we will raid the next
shipment of British tea and show the king what we are made of.

Lester- Ill gather some man and Native outfits to match our disguise. The King does
not dare to tread on the colonists.
Selena- Well said!
Scene Two: Reaction of Colonists and Britain:
Daner- They did what?! How can I bunch of peasants ruin my shipment of 325 tea
crates? Im doing them a favor by ruling them. How dare they commit such treason
towards Britain? This is intolerable. We have to punish the colonists, this can never
happen ever again.
Selena- We did it! The King has his jaw dropped. He never saw that coming. Rejoice
my fellow colonists and join together as one. Put an end to the never-ending list of
taxes.
Scene Three: Result:
Daner- Appose me eh? I got the perfect plan. I will pass the Intolerable Acts. The
colonists will never rebel again. As long as I am ruling, I call the shots. The colonists
will do as I say, otherwise we will have a huge problem at hand.
Narrator- Matters have gone even worse. After the Boston Tea Party, the King has
ordered more troops to the colonies to patrol and taxes are higher than ever.
Daner- That should be the end of the colonies rebellion. Tea is like liquid gold. It is
one of the most important commodities to the English. I would like to see them
oppose me once more.
Lester- the Intolerable Acts is violating our rights and protection. Matters at hand
are worse.
Selena- Worry not! The revolution is coming soon. The colonies will no longer be
under the rule of King George the Third.
Both Lester and Selena- I will be on the front line of the revolution!
