Task 02
Nowadays, the way many people interact with each other has changed because of
technology. In what ways has technology affected the types of relationships people make?
Has this become a positive or negative development?

Apparently, in modern world the means of communication among

people are fundamentally different from the conventional ones. It is
common knowledge that, technological advances are responsible for
that change most of all.
We cant deny that, when technology penetrated into the lives of
human beings, it was associated with a decrease in the amount of
face-to-face communication. The main reason of this downfall seems to
be the emergence of alternative means of contact, such as telephones,
mobile phones, the Internet and etc.
Without any doubt, those changes come hand in hand with plenty of
good effects on interacting manners of people. To begin with, being
less time consuming seems to be the most appealing feature of those
new communication methods. To be more precise, although in the past
people had to spend a lot of time to meet their relatives or friends,
nowadays facilities such as Skype, Viber and so on enable them to
see those acquaintances via video calls. Additionally, technological
advances give people chance to make friends in foreign countries,
while they are just sitting at home.
When it comes to the negative effects of new technologies on people
communication with each other, drop in the amount of face-to-face
contact is the first thing that comes to mind, as it cools the
relationships between people. Another drawback regarding to this
issue is that, overusing them can lead to many diseases related to the
exposure to radioactive waves.

To sum it up, despite to the fact that, the development of methods to

keep in touch has some shortcomings, in my opinion, taking its
important positive points under consideration, we can surely say this
process is considerably beneficial in addition to being inevitable.
1.
Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school
rather that secondary school.
Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
Nowadays, an increasing number of people are concerned about when their children should begin to study
a foreign language. Some people think that the primary school is the best time for children to learn a
second language. others argues that children who enter secondary have better linguistic ability to learn a
second language. My view is that it is better for children learning a foreign language when they are in
primary school instead of secondary school.
firstly, it is clear that children have good linguistic capacity in their early age. there are a lot of examples
shows that children who grow up in a family with bilingual environment can speak two different language
frequently in their young age. therefore, the earlier the students learn a foreign language, the better result
they can get.
Moreover, children in primary school can spent more tine on a secondary language than whose students in
secondary school. the reason is that primary student have less curriculums than secondary student. student
in middle school have various lessons like history, politics, physics and so on, which lead to less time
spend on learning a foreign language.
There also have advantage of leaning second language in secondary school. those second school student
always have better self-control ability than primary student. they maybe addiced by learning language
then they really interested in it. however, those students are raw in the real world. this is because some
course like history, physics and chemistry are more attractive than a goreign language.
In sum, the parents should encourage their children learn a secondary language as soon as possible. this is
not only can get a better bilingual ability, but also become more competitive in the global environment in
the future.

Some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school
programmes (for example working for charity, improving the neighborhood or teaching sports to younger
children). To what extend do you agree or disagree?
It is found that there are lots of school that do not include community services in their course of studies
across the globe in high schools. In regard to making it inclusive, what I think is that it has various
benefits for younger childrens holistic development along with our community which will be discussed
below in this essay from my prospective.
To set in, charity community work provides students to be a responsible person in society in future. Such
activities are the primary steps for the youngsters to convince them to create positive perception among
human beings. In addition, taking part in unpaid job implant the helping attitude and give them an
opportunity to comprehend the real situation of community. For example, if a child is taught to be helpful
and explained the importance of moral values in society that child always has positive thoughts of our
neighbor and he/she will ever wishes to promote the community.
In the same way, encouraging them in sports can assist them for their both psychological and physical
development. Then can built strong relationship and team work skills among colleagues and
consequently, they will be motivated to participate in various decision making position successfully in the
days to come. Creating harmony is another fruitful outcome of involving in sports in young age. For
example, if a child is taught to be disciplined in game, he/she will have the same habit outside of sports
and will always act morally.
To sum up, it is said that Morning shows the day, following this statement what I believe is that if a
child is well shaped and well mannered in early stage, he/she will always follow the right path in life and
contributes to society in different ways. Last but not the least; I again think compulsory unpaid
community services are essential.

Topic: Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of sports
facilities. Others, however, say that this would have little effect on public health and that other measures
are required. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Public health is one of the top concerned of all countries around the world. Some people think that the
most effective way to improve public health is increasing the number of sports facilities while others
claim that this would have insufficient and need to other measures. My essay will shed light on both sides
of this issue.
On one hand, it is undeniable that playing sports is one the best way to keep a person healthy. To play a
specific sport, certainly, people need a specific facility. For example, a stadium is need for football
players; a swimming pool is need for swimmers, etc. By dint of increasing the number of sports facilities,
people have more chance to access cutting-edge technology, followed by their desire to develop
themselves to reach the zenith of sports accomplishments. Therefore, if easy-to-reach the local sports
facilities, people would be likely to make exercise as a regular part of their life.
On the other hand, this policy is not enough for all people in different circumstances. Whether it is truly
consistent with citizens in many indigent nations who cannot pay for their basic demands such as food
daily, accommodations or even personal hygiene? The better ways are making more wholesome parks
which would cater for all ages or simply, pouring a huge amount of governments budge into caring
public health. Surveys have shown that some humanitarian organizations in Vietnam have helped their
poor citizens by providing modern medical equipments and improving their living conditions.
In brief, my point of view is that focusing on sports facilities is a very narrow approach and both
governments and individuals need to concern more about public health to contribute to a civilized and
healthy society.
04.
Every year several languages die out. Some people think that this is not important because life will be
easier if there are fewer languages in the world.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
We live on the planet where thousands of languages exist. Unfortunately, we face the fact that number of
languages die out every single year. While it is true that our life will be easier with fewer language,
however, I would argue that extinction of single language is a serious problem that we should pay more
attention on it.
Many factors that determine in the establishment of language had been identified by linguists. One of the
most obvious factor is geographical condition. As the earth has various geographical circumstances, it is
not surprising if thousands of different languages have existed in all over the world. Unfortunately,
considerable problems appeared when we started to enter the globalization era. One people feel hard to
speak with another people who have different languages. This is the reason why some people think that

we need to unify our language and the extinction some languages is one of the indirect way to attain that
goal. In their opinion, the more languages extinc is the best for us.
On the other hand, it seems to me that the fact of language extinction is an indicator of the domination of
single language and culture. Every single language comes together with the culture. If some languages
would extinct, it means that some cultures would extinct as well. No one will say that the extinction of
culture is not important.
To sum up, in my opinion, the extinction of some languages is a serious problem since it indicates the
domination of any language and culture. It will bring some difficulties to us to build the just world

Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others,
however, believe that school is the place to learn this.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Children are one of the most important resources of a country, who are going to help determine or
manage all the sectors once they grow up and of course are literated. A great many people believe
that children should be taught by their parents about how to be well-mannered residents, while
others are of the opinion that this kind of education should be carried on by schools. In this essay,
I will examine both sides of this point of view.
Parents are the people who are the most closed to any child when they were born. Each of both
parents may have different functions or responsibilities in their children's lives, but in general,
they help them to become familiar with their surroundings as well as to teach them good manners.
Almost all of the things children have known in their early life period are the great efforts that
their parents have made with the hope that their children will be good citizens of the society or
more than that they can be intelligent and be helpful to the country.
On the other hand, schools are also essential for one's knowledge. Without schools, children are
considered illiterated and even though they are quite clever enough to have home study in which
their parents are the teachers, it will not be sufficient to be the future youth for the country's
development, because their parents are not qualified to do that job. Furthermore, schools together
with qualified teachers can provide much more extensive, constructive sources for every purpose
of learning, including deep or superfluous researches. This will greatly help widen their
knowledge and ability.
As far as I am concerned, it is surely a good method if we can combine these two ways of
teaching. This will not only give a child all the basic needs from their parents, but also a great
deal of crucial knowledge as well as practical skills which may be well used in their later lives.
In conclusion, apart from parental teaching, schools also play a role in every child's life, both of
these will supply them adequate guidance on how to effectively

In some countries the average weight of people is increasing and their levels of health and fitness are
decreasing.
What do you think are the causes of these problems and what measures could be taken to solve them?
Nowadays nobody can deny the fact being over-weighted is getting a serious problem for most people all
over the world. Moreover, decreases in the levels of health and fitness make us think about this issue and
take some measures immediately.
To begin with, there are several reasons which bring about over weightiness. To my mind, as one of the
numerous causes, modern lifestyles of people maintain the top position of the list. To date, technological
developments have eased our lives, however it has almost lacked the physical work. In other words
people can do everything; send letter, pay for something, even they can do shopping without standing
from their seats. Furthermore, current work conditions which generally do not involve physical work
cause the problems as I mentioned above. Last but not least, one of the biggest problems of todays world
is fast food which is not healthy and mentioned the main cause of over weightiness by most of scientists.
When it comes to the solution to this problem, from my perspective, people must be educated about
healthy lifestyles. In that case, I emphasize the role of governments and mass media. The collaboration
between them in a variety ways, such as video clips on TVs which have purpose on encouraging people to
do sport, avoiding fast foods and etc. will improve the situation. Another measure I would like to add to
increase the taxes for junk foods. Consequently, the rising prices will lessen interest for this kind of foods.
To sum up, I strongly believe that if the measures are taken immediately, we will never face these types of
problems again.

Nowadays the way many people interact with each other has changed because
of technology.
In what ways has technology affected the types of relationships people
make?
Has this become a positive or negative development?
With the advent of technological advances, people now have various ways to interact
with each other. Subsequently, we gradually change the formation of relationships and
develop more diverse types of interaction among people. However, there are pros and
cons in this development.
Technology has made a huge impact on relationships. The invention of electronic
equipment such as mobile phones makes it easier for people to contact each other.
Therefore, we take less time to keep in touch with friends living far away. Furthermore,
the emergence of social networks has made a revolution in communication. Nowadays,
with a computer which has an Internet connection, people can chat with friends and
family members. The advancement of technology has got the world together.
This development has both advantages and disadvantages. Positively, the interaction
among people becomes more diverse and popular because there are more convenient,
faster, and less time consuming ways to communicate with each other. In addition,
social networks help people expand the circle of friends from around the globe. People
now are getting closer despite geographical distances.
On the other hand, there are some drawbacks in this development. Firstly, people are
losing the art of conversation. Without letters and face to face talks, we are
gradually forgetting how to make a proper conversation. Also, the appearance of teen
code has made students forget how to make a grammatical sentence with correct
spellings. Secondly, social networks have created a new type of relationship called
cyber relationships in which strange people get to know each other through social
network and become a couple. Not only these relationships are unstable but they have
also led to many criminal problems like Internet fraud.
In conclusion, technology plays an important role in the change of relationships. We
should utilize it to expand our circle of friends but we should also learn how to maintain
and treasure our relationship in order not to let regrettable things occur.
