Cont Carrs - a hard pastel crayon

Carrs have a slightly harder consistency than normal pastels and are also a little less pigmented
which makes them more transparent. Use them on coloured paper to achieve a deeper luster.
Try to move the crayon in broad strokes and with an even pressure to make the most of the
papers tooth. The square shape of the crayons inspires a lot of different techniques. To cover
larger areas you use the long, flat side. For different intensity, you just vary the pressure. For fine
details you use the short side and its edges. Suitable both on paper and canvas. To make your work
last we recommend fixation.

Cont Carrs Set and Blister

Assorted set
Versatile set with assorted colours, suitable for
different motives and techniques. By drawing with
the different sides of the crayon it is possibly to
imitate the soft shape of a fruit or the sharp edges
of glass. Try to work with different layers to make
the sketch gradually gain the right expression.
Softer colours like Sepia, Black and Iron Red are
often used for building up the background, whereas
strong colours like green and red are more suitable
for the foreground.
