On which Siemens Products is the E&S Catalyst based
At this point, E&S Catalyst is largely based on Teamcenter. However, future solutions and capabilities may include capabilities from NX, Tecnomatix, and/or other Siemens products. How will E&S Catalyst be supported? E&S Catalyst will be supported, maintained and upgraded like any other Siemens products and/or offering. Customers that are up to date with Maintenance will receive the latest enhancements, as well as upgrades for E&S Catalyst. Will customers get an E&S Catalyst upgrade with every release of Teamcenter? Not necessarily. E&S Catalyst is released on an asynchronous basis to Teamcenter release. Who are the Target customers for E&S Catalyst? E&S Catalyst is largely intended for new customers / divisions / etc. on a fresh Teamcenter deployment. However, it is possible to layer E&S Catalyst on top of existing implementations; doing so, will require effort to determine the difference between current implementation and E&S Catalyst configuration points, etc. What are pre-requisites for E&S Catalyst? E&S Catalyst is based on Teamcenter Foundation and requires Teamcenter Change Management. Can I Expand E&S Catalyst with additional functionality and/or integrate with other non-Teamcenter applications? Can I modify E&S Catalyst behavior? Customers can further expand by integrating to other homegrown and commercial solutions. The Catalyst has 2 layers: Base and Reference. Services team can and should be able to speak more about this. Customers can certainly choose to go with the OOTB configuration and make additional changes/extensions. However, the E&S Catalyst, etc. are all based on OOTB configuration. What are key capabilities of E&S Catalyst? Do our competitors have similar offerings? Yes and No. Oracle/Agile and PTC have some similar capabilities in their OOTB offerings. However, they lack capabilities around Part/BOM Maturity. Additionally, the Active Workspace user interface is far superior to the UI offered by Oracle/Agile and PTC. Also, the User Interface for E&S Catalyst was carefully modeled after the way typical users in E&S interact and expect to interact with such solutions, leveraging industry common terminologies, business process, etc. How do I access E&S Catalyst? Access, download, etc. for E&S Catalyst is similar to other Siemens products by going to GTAC. Does the customer have to pay extra for the E&S Catalyst? There are no additional fees for E&S Catalyst. How long does it normally take to implement and deploy the E&S Catalyst? We estimate the implementation and deployment to be between 12-15 weeks. E&S Catalyst is based preconfigured capabilities that are built on top of OOTB Siemens products. Customers may choose to further configure and/or customize the Catalyst. Any such additions, modifications, and in general deviation from the OOTB E&S Catalyst preconfiguration, can change the estimated amount of time. What is the E&S Catalyst Roadmap? E&S Catalyst will continue to be enhanced and released on an asynchronous manner to Teamcenter Release.
