Holiday Greetings Family & Friends,
Thanksgiving Day has come, Christmas is upon us & we anxiously await a New Year, 2015. Among all
the holiday chatter, plans are continuing, gaining momentum for The Harris Family Affair, to be held in
Bastrop, LA., June 12th, and 13th, 14th 2015. Approximately 130 family members have already registered
financially to attend. A conservative estimated goal of at least 200 participants appears to be within reach.
However, when we consider the extent of the Harris bloodline, the possibilities of preparing an event to
accommodate a group larger then Morehouse Parish has seen in past times would be an awesome &
welcomed task. Be encouraged Harris Nation descendants of Simmie & Irma H. Harris, let us move
past 130, run over 200, come unified in numbers great enough to make history in Bastrop in June 2015.
An effort to be symbolic of Harris Family strength, remembered & spoken of for years to come.
ITS NOT TOO LATE!!! You may give your payment to any committee member (listed below) or
you may mail payments & registration form(s) to P.O. Box 1507 Bastrop, LA 71221. You can be
instrumental in making this happen by registering to attend NOW!! Send only $30.00 per person for
anyone 6 years and older along with completed registration form to a committee member of the address
below then you will be part of this history making event, based on the legacy of OUR family YOURS &
MINE, The Harris Family Affair! Please dont be left out. The invitation to send partial payment is
still available and may be utilized by sending 1/3 or $10.00 of registration fee each, for any person listed
on the form age 6 years and older. Children 5 and under are free. All partial payment balances must be
paid in full by the deadline date of March 15, 2015. (NO EXCEPTIONS).
The $30.00 per person registration fee for anyone 6 years and above will remain in effect through January
31, 2015. Beginning February 1, 2015 through March 15, 2015, the cost per person 6 years and up will
increase to $35.00 and $5.00 each for children 1 5 years old. If you choose to wait and register after
March 15, 2015, up to the event day, the registration fee will be $40.00 per person 6 years and up and
$5.00 for each child 1 5 years old. Anyone who made partial payments but failed to pay the full amount
by March 15, 2015, will forfeit their existing payment (NO REFUNDS), and will in turn need to start
over at the current rate.
While the measures are regrettable, in a sincere effort to handle the business of coordinating this event
including the finances in a professional manner, it is necessary to utilize disciplined guidelines to ensure
an acceptable outcome for the Harris Family as a whole. Your cooperation is thoroughly appreciated.
Remember commemorative T-Shirts are available and may be purchased at additional cost. Please see
your t-shirt order form for full information regarding T-Shirt order/price/deadlines.
As always, your attendance, planning ideas, family information, statistics, pictures and help to spread the
word is welcomed and needed. The next scheduled family planning / information exchange meeting will
