Scope of Work

Draining of complete oil in tank or barrels (Both to be

supplied by GETCO) Before draining the oil, the oil in
the transformer tank should be heated up by a separate
hot oil circulator at around 70 C so that when the oil is
totally drained out, the core & winding assembly will
have temperature higher than ambient. This will note be
exposed without oil for more than 12 hours .Before this
period either the assembly should be filled with new oil
or nitrogen or should be subjected to vacuum. Before
draining the oil, the external surfaces of tank & fitting
should be cleaned to locate the point of oil leakage.

Dismantling & refitting of all the fittings of the

transformation such as HT & LT Bushings, conservator,
explosion vent, Bucchholz relay, radiators, top cover,
inspection cover etc. including hiring of crane.

Over hauling of OLTC which includes :(i) Hot oil washing of divertor & selector chamber after
untanking divertor switches
(ii) Untanking divertor switches.
(iii) Cleaning of fixed & moving contact
(iv) Tightening of all the clamping hardware
(v) Replacing all the oil sealing gaskets
(vi) Greasing of gears in driving mechanism
(vii) Replacement lubrication oil in gear box
Note : For any major repair & replacement of spares,
GETCO will make necessary arrangement.

Washing of core oil assembly by hot oil jet to remove

sludge, carbon deposition and any other foreign particles
deposited over it.(a) Tightening of core studs & checking

Supply / preparation & replacement of all the oil sealing
gaskets made from rubberized cork sheet confirming to
grade RC 80c of IS 4253 (Part-II) for whole transformer.

Drying of core & winding as per procedure attached

herewith (Schedule-C)

Filtration of oil: After the drying out cycles are over, the
oil in the transformer is filtered till the oil BDV &water
content value are achieved as required by IS 1866
1983. During this final filteration a seperate degassing
column with separate vaccum pump should be used to get
better dehydration of oil. During filteration the radiator
bank should also be filtered separately or along with
filteration of main tank oil depending on the construction.
The filter machine used for filtration should be two stage,
high vaccum machine of minimum 4500 LPH capacity.
After filteration the oil will be tested for BDV in
presence of GETCO engineer at site. The BDV value
should meet requirement as per IS 1866-1983.
After filteration the oil sample will be tested for water
content (PPM) test at ERDA .The result should meet
requirement as per IS:1866-1983.Testing of oil for DGA
at ERDA.

Degreasing and derusting all the external surface of tank

and fittings.Applying one coat of metal primer at the
rusted spots. Applying two coats of synthetic enamel
paint having ISI mark.

GETCO at work site free of cost.

Electrical power for filter machine, vacuum pump etc. will be
provided by GETCO free of cost.
Any hindrances for approach, parking and operation of mobile
crane within GETCO premises will be removed by GETCO free
of cost.
Before draining of oil, complete routine tests of the transformer
should be carried out in presence of SMS.
Tan Delta and capacitance measurement of bushings &
windings will be carried out by GETCO from their own kit.
Necessary insurance is to be taken by the firm and Company will
reimburse it. In case of damage, the matter is to be taken by the
firm with insurance company for settlement of the claim.
GETCO wil provide oil tank, empty barrels for stotage of oil &
filtration.
Pure Nitrogen gas has to be utilized by the firm for whole
processes.
Necessary power supply arrangement will be done by GETCO
free of cost.
Necessary filter machine etc should be provided by the firm.
