MY ANALYSIS

Were the learning resources/materials arranged properly according to their functions and
characteristics?

The learning resources/materials were arranged carefully for the convenience of the
students. As an example for the Computer-Based Learning Module (CBLM) of Computer
Hardware Servicing, it was put inside a divider located inside the designated training area
together with various CBLMs, books and other relevant items and materials that can be
used anytime. The location as well as the arrangements of these materials provide the
students with the advantage of accessing these during trainings.

Do the guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by the teachers? Why?
Why not?

Basing on the things that i had observed, the teachers are following some standard
operating procedures mandated by the agency that governs all the Techincal-Vocational
Institutions in the country. Aside from that, the institution had also implemented some of
their own set of rules that will facilitate access to these instructional materials with ease.
Through these things, they can eventually maximized the use of each material for the
benefit of their students.

What are the strengths of this Learning Resource Center?

The following are the strengths of the institutions Learning Resource Area:

It is connected to the internet therefore capable of providing much wider source of

information.

The learning materials and supplies are quite enough for each student.

Easy access on various learning resources and materials.

There are competent teachers who can provide assistance.

What are its weaknesses?

The weakness that I had observed is the availability of the computers during trainings.
According to the in-charge, there are some of these unfortunate students who will not be
able to use to the computer until the end of the session. That is because the total number
of computers inside the laboratory is quite short compared to the total number of students
in a class. The time as well as the effort of the teacher are being wasted especially that

there is no enough computer to accommodate the students. Eventually, it may turn out
that their learning will also be compromised as well.
What suggestions can you make?

For the benefit of the students as well the entire academy, the institution should procure
additional units of computers to respond and accommodate the needs of their students
especially during trainings. Time for learning will be spared and in that case, it will give
them the impression of providing quality education to their students and stakeholders as
well.

MY REFLECTIONS
Which of the materials in the Learning Resource Center caught your interest the most?
Why?

The material that really caught my attention was this what they call Competency-Based
Learning Module duly required by the Technical Education and Skills Development
Authority (TESDA) for Technical-Vocational Institutions. It contains various pieces of
information about a particular competency program wherein the students are tasked to
read the contents of the material and perform certain learning activities as well.
Compared to textbooks utilized by most academic institutions, this material is very useful
especially in developing ones knowledge, attitude, and most importantly, skills.

Which gadgets/materials are you aleady confident to use/operate?

For me, the gadget that I am very confident to use is the computer. That is because I
already have the skill which I obtained from the various experiences I had many years
ago. Aside from that, I am a tech-savvy. I love technology and the benefits that it
provides me.

Which ones do you feel you need to learn more about?

The are still things that I want to learn more especially when it comes to technology. Its
the curiosity that gives me the urge to know more and learn about it. Its been there for
decades and I want to utilized and maximized its use for the benefit of all especially the
next generations.

MY PORTFOLIO
The thing the I want to learn before I become a teacher someday is about videoconferencing.
This would be very useful especially that the internet dominates the exchange of information all

around the globe. This will also give an opportunity for distant learning wherein students can be
taught at home instead within just the four corners of the classroom.
