This article allows the reader to fully understand how social class and race are dominant in
Desais book. It shows how these aspects of human life. Mongaya also comments on the fact
that the characters seem as if they are singing. Overall, this article focuses on the outline of the
book and emphasizes on how two aspects of life control the book.

This article allows the readers to develop a more clear insight on the core of the novel. Mongaya
organizes her facts in a way that seems extremely reliable because she backs up each and
every one of her statements with a quote from the novel. Each statement expresses the
frustration and struggle of being low in the social class in a way that almost seems melodious.

This article pinpoints certain facts that are important to the novel. For example, the books
constant reference to landscape comes from Desais love of landscape. Even the first page of
the novel is dedicated to landscape. These specific points are useful in this novel because it
helps us understand why Desai put specific scenes in the novel.

bank for the jewelry.

This interview holds reference to an important part of Indian culture: inheritance. Desai clarifies
that the reason the title was given its name is because of the inheritance of jewelry in her family.

This article allows the reader to track feelings such as pain and humiliation throughout the
novel. Being incredibly straightforward, the author depicts humiliation in this novel to be plentiful.
At one point or the other, the characters in this novel experience these feelings in the extreme
and Desai executes the feelings of these characters perfectly.

The Inheritance of Loss is as popular as it is today because of the heartfelt stories. Though the
overall story might not be relatable, but the themes of pain and humiliation offer a kind of
sympathy to the characters in the novel because those specific feelings are incredibly relatable.
