Failed Checks and recommendations:

Review the viability of the solution and brief the recommendations in details with the proposed workaround or fix
needed.

ZFS max cache parameter:

-

Description: ZFS maximum cache is recommended to be set to 2 GB with database environment especially
if the database is utilizing the underlying ZFS infrastructure For each zone.

Fix: In /etc/systems set zfs:zfs_arc_max=2147483648

Quorum Device location:

-

Description: In campus cluster configuration. It is recommended to have the quorum device in 3rd room
location away from Site-A and Site-B. In case of any disaster in the quorum device site owner, the whole
cluster will be down.
Fix: Have the quorum device in a 3rd location. It can be ignored if not available. Just need to be aware of the
recovery steps in case of whole site failure.

OS and ZPool HA:

-

Description: The rpool and the zone pools are single disk pools. No mirrors are configured.
Fix: It is highly critically recommended to add mirrors to the OS pool (used for patching hardware failures
corruption fix etc). The zone pools also need to have

Resources and resource group configuration:

-

Description: It is recommended to set the offline restart dependencies for the Oracle Server resource to
depend on the zone HA mount point. This will keep the integrity and feasibility of the database in case of
failover and the ease of recovery from failure.

Fix: clrs set p resource_dependencies_offline_restart=<zone_hasp> oracle-rs

HBA Firmware:
-

Description: The HBA firmware version is really outdated and need to be upgraded to the latest firmware
the soonest to avoid heaps of bugs and problems. The current version is Firmware Version: 1.00a12
(U3D1.00A12) and the latest version is v2.01a10
Fix: Refer to the attached document.

Cluster Clean-up:
-

Description: all unnecessary Resources and resource groups need to be deleted and the underlying disks
need to be relabeled.

Backup and Security:

-

Description: Backup configuration and the security compliance are very important part of the solution and
need to be reviewed and designed and developed.
