Annotated Bibliography for The Once and Future King
D'Ammassa, Don. "White, T. H." Encyclopedia of Fantasy and Horror Fiction. New York: Facts
On File, Inc., 2006. Bloom's Literature. Facts On File, Inc. Web. 13 Nov. 2014

Due to the fact that the name of the Encyclopedia covering this topic is titled the
Encyclopedia of Fantasy and Horror Fiction it provides supple evidence as to why the
article mostly only covers the portions of the novel that are a barrage of similarities
between fairy tales, actual fairies and other creatures, as well as a minute droplet of
science fiction. These topics are all delved into lightly in the passage from the
encyclopedia. In is relevant to assert that the biography is selective to include only
information about T.H.Whites novel The Once and Future King, most likely due to the
fact that it may be his only novel that contains fantasy elements.

In general the clarity of this article isnt to the level a reader may want it to be, this stems
from the fact that the writing is in a scattered pattern with no real transitions of topic to
follow along with. For someone who has read the wonderful famous novel, like myself,
this information is useful due to the information summarising and involving the literature
I had read previously. regarding those randomly coming across this excerpt from the
encyclopedia, it serves little purpose as it won't be information that comes across as
useful.

2014

This article, similar to the other one, tells more about the story of King Arthur throughout
the novel The Once and Future King with a strong focus on the different novels and how
they all came together. In regard to the title of the encyclopedia being bound to fantasy and
horror, there is a surprising absence of it in the elaboration on the great novel.

This article is one that focuses most heavily on facts regarding the separate books and when
they were brought together. Little is critiqued about, and it may seem evident that criticism
may be found elsewhere;however, due to the fact that this is an embodiment of multiple
lifetimes and generations of perception on a single subject, critiques can be hard to find.

Gaydosik, Victoria. "The Once and Future King." Facts On File Companion to the British
Novel: 20th Century, vol. 2. New York: Facts On File, Inc., 2006. Bloom's Literature. Facts
On File, Inc. Web. 13 Nov. 2014

Although titled a thematic and structural analysis this article seems to have enough criticism
or rather, analysis that isnt sound enough to be seen as totally true. The work does go over
the journey T.H.White made for King Arthur from the beginning to end of his reign as a
graceful and benevolent king.

Hecker,3

It may seem to be a stretch to consider this criticism in any regard but after reading the line
His pessimism about the human race becomes evident in the ways that innocence and hard
work fail to instill enduring states of justice among the envious its fair to say Gaydosik may
have woven in personal perception of the novels ideals into his unbiased article. The
information was useful as a general premise, and could find general application to anyone
interested in an overview of the novel.

Quinn, Edward. "Arthurian legend." A Dictionary of Literary and Thematic Terms, Second
Edition. New York: Facts On File, Inc., 2006. Bloom's Literature. Facts On File, Inc. Web. 29
Oct. 2014

This article is one that refers to Arthurian legend and how many novels took shape around
King Arthur and his rise and fall from power. Edward Quinn helps to outline many of the
novels that took shape from the legend of King Arthur and what new aspects were introduced
along with each new book. It gives little tidbits of information regarding each and every book
that are very helpful and aid in helping the onlooker to decide which books they may want to
read about Arthurian legend.

The article is insightful in giving information that can help the reader to find the books
surrounding Arthurian legend;however, besides for that it is very vague so an onlooker may
have little use or gain from the article if they were to read it without any prior knowledge of
Arthurian legend. This does drawback from its usefulness, but only diminishes the usefulness
of the information to those that are reading it with no prior concept of Arthurian legend.
