Here are a few selected questions for your practice.

Rawat Sir has told you how to


prepare each question, and from where to read for each. Within third brackets are
given the marks for each question. In the section B, objective questions are there, of
2 marks each.
Within second brackets, and in red color, are given the book sources from which you
are supposed to prepare. Very soon, we'll post more precise information - the exact
pages to read for a particular question.
Some powerpoint presentations will follow this post. For the VFX and TV Graphics
unit (Unit-V), you need not read any book. If you follow the powerpoints, that would
be enough.

9. Dry rehearsal : Rehearsal without production facilities, generally done outside the studio, right
after the camera blocking phase.

blocking.
11. C.G. : Character Generator. Studios still equipped with older machines and analog
transmission use analog Character Generators which look like an electric typewriter.
Digital transmission uses dedicated computers for character generetaors.
12. C.C.U. : Camera Control Unit. It is part of the live camera units broadcast chain. It
connects and control the cameras remotely through CCU cables. On the other side it
connects to the switcher, the preview monitors and the line out monitors. The whole
setup is commonly known as the CCU.

13. Rotoscopy : Rotoscopy or Rotoscoping is an animation/VFX technique in which the the


VFX artist traces the outline of a live motion character frame by frame, and uses the
outline or contour for animation. Both live motion and fully animated TV programs/
movies use this technique.
