BUSINESS
CARD
Description: Business card design for a fictional company using a
personalized logo.
Programs: Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator
Date: March 1, 2015
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: Create a logo to represent a company. Design a layout
for a business card that matches a business letterhead.
Process: I created the logo using Adobe Illustrator. I used the pen
tool, the pathfinder tool, and the type tool to name a few. After
I created the logo I copied and pasted it into Adobe InDesign to
create the stationery and business card you see above. I placed
the microphone logo at the bottom left on the letter head and saw
it fit to use a speech bubble to be a space for notes to be written.
I then used the type tool to place the contact information. For the
business card, I put the microphone logo on the left side again.
I added another logo with the company name on it to add more
effect. I then decided to add the contact information and social
network information on the other side of the card.

LOGOS
Description: Three logo variations for the same company.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator
February 21, 2015
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: Create a variety of logos to represent a company. Use
the basic tools of Illustrator.
Process: For this project I used Adobe Illustrator. I used the
shape, type, and pathfinder tools to create each of my designs.
To make the speech bubble in the first logo i used the ellipse tool
to create an oval. After I did that I used the pen tool to make the
speech bubbles point. I figured that the repetitive lines would
help the design pops out.

WEB PAGE
Description: Personalized logo incorporated with an HTML based
website.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator, Text Wrangler, Google Chrome
Date: March 13, 2015
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: Size and optimize a personally made logo as a .png
file. Write content for the website. Acquire a working knowledge
of HTML and basic CSS skills. Identify hex colors for web design.
Compress multiple files in zipped folder to attach one file.
Process: I created this website using TextWrangler. It was my
first time coding HTML and using CSS. I added my logo through
TextWrangler, and to do that I needed to be sure that I was very
organized with where I placed all of my work. I placed all of the
things that I want used into one project folder. I attached a premade CSS file and then used different hex codes to add the colors
that I wanted. I found out the hex codes through Photoshop. This
was a good thing to do because I was able to make sure that my
logo and text on the webpage were the same. I went through the
CSS code and changed around the colors and some padding. I
also moved my hyper-link to be over different words that it was

MONTAGE
Description: An inspirational, yet fun montage made by blending
multiple images and adding text through Photoshop.

Programs: Adobe Photoshop

Date: February 14, 2015
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: Learn to manage Photoshop layers, learn how to blend
multiple images together, use filters, and use proper text.
Process: For this project I used the Internet to gather images,
and Photoshop to mask out the images by using the lasso tool. I
used the image of the astronaut as the back round; this was my
foundation. Next, I masked out the Disney castle with the lasso
tool, with feathering set to about 50. Then, I did the same process
with the image of Mickey and Pluto. After that, I went through with
the masks selected and using the paint brush I was able to add
and take away what I wanted from each image. Once the images
were complete, I added text. I used a common Disney quote and a
font that reminded me of Disneys Star Wars.

BROCHURE
Description: Brochure
Programs: Adobe Illustrator & Adobe InDesign
Date: March 28, 2015
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: Set up and design a brochure on InDesign. Learn how
to wrap text around an image.
Process: I used Adobe Illustrator to create the logo and the
A.E.Sthetic lettering. I created the logo with the pen tool and then
added a brush stroke that made the logo look like it was spray
painted. I then went on to Adobe InDesign to create the actual
brochure. I created outlines and other measurements to be sure
that all of my work would line up perfectly. I used the text box
tool to add all of the text that is in the brochure. I also cropped all
of the images that I used in InDesign to make them all the same
shape.

FLIER
Description: Monochromatic promotional flier advertising a
graduate leadership conference.
Programs: Adobe InDesign
Date: January 24, 2015
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: Apply design principles and use InDesign skills.
Process: First, I created a few thumbnails of ideas that I had. After
brainstorming, I took my sketches to be brought to life. I did this
through using Adobe InDesign. I am a fan of patterns, especially
those of geometric value, so I created multiple patterns with the
gradient squares and other shapes in the flier. I became a huge
fan of the tear drop tool, which allowed me to match the colors
of black and gray in the shapes. I only used two fonts, but of those
two, I used different font sizes and even changed some to be bold
lettering. I was given the photos, logo, and text for this project.

photo I uploaded it to Photoshop and edited the levels, saturation,
contrast, and sharpened and blurred some objects. I added
vector shapes of rectangles and squares. I used red and green
to complement the image. I also added text t share my message.
I did not use a complementary color for the text color, however I
did use a color that was tear dropped from the animals horns, I
did this to add more unity with the design.
