1. What is noRapportPro?
noRapportPro is a module for Adobe Photoshop, that offers every possible

horizontal or vertical repetitions, to set the displacement (1/2, 1/3, 2/3, etc.

3. MAIN WINDOW

When you open an image with this module you will access the program
and see the first main window:

On the first window, on the left, there are the various configuration
options, divided in groups: Rapport, Offset, Repeat and Original. The
large preview window allows to follow the adjustments we do while we
work.
From the given options we can activate the Automatic rapport option,
select the Main Layer, and define the Rapport type, the Offset and the
size of the Repeat preview with Photoshop default units. The information
can then be seen in the Original group:

The three top buttons perform the following actions:

Clicking on Set origin, a window pops-up asking you to set the origin to
the current ruler offset (0,0) or not.

Clicking on Cancel the module finishes, restoring the rapport parameters.

Clicking on Ok the module apply the offset in the original document and
finishes, saving the rapport parameters in the document.

4. AUTOMATIC RAPPORT

This option activates or deactivates the Automatic Rapport. When it is on,

it becomes usable with the Move tool from Adobe Photoshop.

noRapportPro 6.9

When the option Automatic Raport is selected we move the layer using
the Move tool
, or we click on D letter to change the tool. When we
call the module, this will apply the selected offset on the selected layer
and to the ones connected to it. If we continue with the same tool, the
movement will be applied also, but we wont be able to visualize it from
the modules preview window.

5. RAPPORT OPTIONS
It shows rapport Drop and Mode options.
The field Drop sets the offset between repeats. You can enter any fraction
you need such us 1/2, 1/3, 2/3. Also, you can specify any offset such as
1 cm, 30 pixels. The field Mode sets the direction of the drop field.

When the Drop field is not a multiple of the Horizontal or Vertical image
size (according to field Mode), the window shows an alert icon, meaning
that the separation between each repetition may vary slightly.

noRapportPro 6.9
The following images show examples of drops and rapport types:

1/1 horizontal or vertical Drop

1/2 vertical Drop

1/3 vertical Drop

1/2 horizontal Drop

1/3 horizontal Drop

Note:

The rapport edit button will be deactivated if an offset is set.

6.OFFSET OPTIONS
The Offset group allows to set the offset applied to the image.

noRapportPro 6.9
The Offset icons let you change the offset to four relative positions to the
image.

Sets the offset to origin

Sets the offset to the vertical origin and 1/2 width of the
image
Sets the offset to the horizontal origin and 1/2 height of the
image
Sets the offset at 1/2 width and 1/2 height of the image

7. REPEAT OPTIONS
Shows the Origin, Size, Resolution and Scale of the repeat, and the
resolution and scales of the repeat preview parameters.

noRapportPro 6.9
The Edit button opens the editing window of the Repetition parameters.

The Repeat Size fields are shown at the top, where the desired repeat
values of the rapport can be adjusted.
The button Rapport Minimum sets the final repeat size at the minimum
size, so that the result will repeat at 1/1 rapport, according to the drop
and rapport type and the distance between repeats.

10

noRapportPro 6.9
Ticking on Original repeat guides, the module creates guides framing
the original repeat, showing the current document with the present
repeat.
The Resolution of Repeat and the Resolution of Preview allow to set
the resolution of the final document and the preview of the repeat.
The fields Resolution and Scale of the repeat and repeat preview are
linked. When the scale is changed, the resolution will be changed in the
corresponding proportion and the other way round.
Note:
The fields Resolution and Scale of the repeat let you use values
between 1% and a 100% both of the image resolution and the scale. Also,
the fields Resolution and Scale of the repeat preview let you use values
between 1% and 50% of the image resolution, and between 1 and 50% of
the scale.

8. ORIGINAL WINDOW
This area shows the information of the original document: Width, Height
and Resolution.

9. PRACTICAL EXAMPLE
Open the image to process in Photoshop, and choose the module no
RapportPro, as we have seen in section 2 of this manual.
Important: If you wish to work with Automatic Rapport, the image
cant be in Background layer. So, before calling up the module no
RapportPro, change the default Background layer to Layer 0.

Once in the module, set the values of the Rapport and the Offset. If you
wish so, also activate the Automatic rapport option.
Here is an example of a 1/1 rapport:

From the Repeat window we have set the repeats of the image. In this
example, we have given the following values: Horizontal Size=4, and
Vertical Size=4. In Resolution of preview we have selected 50%
Scale, to have a better resolution of the repeats.
12

noRapportPro 6.9

Press OK to confirm the values indicated.

In the Preview it shows that the repeat is not correct:

13

noRapportPro 6.9
Proceed working on the repeatability of the image in Adobe
Photoshop.
We will use the Move tool
looks like the following:

and will drag and move the image until it

Call the module noRapportPro again, and then press the key "D", and
the image will be filled out according to the rapport information given.
This option is only valid when the Automatic Rapport is activated.
Now we have to continue retouching the image so that it fits the drawing,
and for this we use Photoshop tools, obtaining the following effect:

One more time we will execute neoRapportPro module, which will

remember the last parameters applied to the image. Observe that now it
is not possible to edit neither Drop nor Mode fields. We have to restore
the Repeat to the origin (0,0).

14

noRapportPro 6.9

We will fix the image Drop at its initial value, that is to say, we will fix
Offset at 0 pixels:

We have obtained an image like the original, but retouched in such a way
that it can now be used as a rapport.
15

noRapportPro 6.9
The result is an image which is continually repeated.

Note:
If you want rapporting more than one layer, link the additional
layers to the selected one and execute the module, either using the
dialogue or the Move tool, when the option Automatic rapport is selected.
