TheParkwaslaunchedonJune14.ThebrainchildofMalaysianResearchandDevelopmentInstitute(MARDI),thePark
received100,000visitorsannually.Theideatoturntheformerresearchstationopenedin1926bytheBritishtoan
agrotechnologyparkcamefromtheAgricultureMinisterDatukDrEffendiNorwawithreeyearsago.TheBritishhandedover
theparktoMARDIsome22yearsago.
TheParkisactuallyMARDI'soldestresearchstationinthecountryandsinceCameronHighlandisapopulartourist
destination,MARDIhasfollowedthroughontheideatoturnitintoanAgrotechnologyPark.
