FADE IN

EXT. – MILITARY BASE, OUTSIDE OF JACKSONVILLE, FL – DAY

A military base lies in a desolate area of northern

Florida.

TITLE OVER:

“Unidentified Military Base – Outside of Jacksonville,

Florida”

INT. – DETENTION CENTER WITHIN THE MILITARY BASE

HALLWAY

Dimly lit, cramped and depressing; a series of small prison

cells straddle the narrow hallway on either side. The
ceiling lights are flickering on and off.

TWO GUARDS emerge from the darkness and slowly walk down
the hall towards a particular cell; they are holding
several handcuffs and leg restrainers.

PRISON CELL

The walls are dirty and moist from the humidity. Several
old newspaper clippings have been taped up to decorate the
walls. They include headlines such as:

“Sears Tower collapses in Apocalyptic Explosion;” “Man

Known Only as „Viper‟ Identified by the FBI as the World‟s
Most Dangerous Terrorist;” “Hoover Dam Comes Crashing Down
…Terrorism is Likely Suspect;” “„Viper‟ Strikes Again;”
“„Viper‟ Captured, Authorities put an End to His Five-Year
Reign of Terror.”

VIPER, a tall, rugged, handsome but weathered man in his

mid-thirties, is sitting at a small desk reading the bible.

The two guards approach the cell.

MILITARY GUARD #1
Viper.
(pause)
Viper.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 3

Viper stands up from his desk and faces the guards.

MILITARY GUARD #2
Come on, you‟re due in court in
two hours. You don‟t want to keep
the judge and all those pretty
little reporters waiting now, do
you?

Viper just stands there emotionless and completely silent,

not even acknowledging the guards‟ existence.

As a sign of indifference, he picks the bible up off his

desk and starts looking through it.

MILITARY GUARD #1
You know the drill, put your
arms out and walk slowly up to
the cell door.

Viper stands there stoically, then he sets his bible down

and puts his hands on his hips. He spits in the direction
of the guards and then stares them down.

Out of anger, one of the guards hits his nightstick against

the metal poles of the cell door.

MILITARY GUARD #1
Now!

Viper walks gingerly towards the cell door. He puts his

hands and wrists through a slot in the door.

While one of the guards puts him in handcuffs, the other

stares directly into Viper‟s eyes. Viper reciprocates by
staring right into the guard‟s eyes.

MILITARY GUARD #2
You‟re not so tough. You‟re a
bitch just like every other two
bit terrorist that‟s ever walked
this earth – from Osama to McVeigh
to you.

MILITARY GUARD #1
Ok, he‟s secured…let‟s move out.

The military guard grabs the walkie-talkie from his belt

and talks into it.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 4

MILITARY GUARD #2
This is the detention center…we
have secured the inmate and will
be transporting him to the convoy
immediately.

Guard #1 unlocks the cell door and leads Viper out into the

HALLWAY

As he walks slowly up the hallway, the other guard, who is

trailing behind him, violently hits Viper in the back of
his knee with his nightstick.

Viper lets out a horrific scream as he collapses in pain.

Guard #1 forces him to stand back up as soon as he falls.

MILITARY GUARD #1
Get up, don‟t lie down on me.

MILITARY GUARD #2
That one‟s for my cousin, he was
in the Sears Tower when you blew
it up.

Viper turns and flashes a devilish smile to the guard.

The guards help Viper back up and they walk to the end of
the hallway where a door swings open revealing the bright,
sunny skies of the outside world.

The three stand at the edge of the doorway. Viper is

squinting his eyes as he quietly enjoys the fresh air.

The guard speaks into his walkie-talkie again.

MILITARY GUARD #2
Ready to complete transfer.

Three additional guards from the outside approach Viper.

One is holding a neck restraint contraption attached to a
three-foot pole, which he puts on him.

Viper initially tries to resist by flailing his body.

MILITARY GUARD #1
Relax! Your life will be much
more pleasant if you don‟t resist.

Don‟t make me get the cattle prod.

The guard is finally able to get the neck restraint on him

and leads him outside.

EXT. – DETENTION CENTER AT THE MILITARY BASE - DAY

A convoy of ten military vehicles – jeeps and armored

personnel carriers - is lined up outside of the building.

The vehicles are flanked by several dozen heavily armed

MILITARY POLICE. They have created a column of protection
from the building to the vehicles.

Flying overhead, supplying aerial support, are multiple

Black Hawk and Cobra helicopters.

Five guards lead Viper through the column of soldiers

towards the convoy. One of the guards is holding the pole
to his neck restraint like a dog‟s leash.

Viper and the guards approach the middle vehicle in the

convoy where an ARMY COLONEL and several other guards are
awaiting them.

The COLONEL, a grizzled, hard, muscular man, is wearing

sunglasses.

The guards salute the Colonel.

MILITARY GUARD #1
Sir, I present you the prisoner
to be transferred to the federal
district court.

ARMY COLONEL
So, you are the one they call…
Viper.

The Colonel paces back and forth around Viper.

ARMY COLONEL (cont‟d)

The man so feared and so dangerous
they have to keep him imprisoned
on a military base. The man who
will live and who will die while
showing no hint of remorse. And

thinks he can play god…choosing who
for what? Who knows, nobody can
get into that little brain of yours
to figure out why any American
would commit terrorism against
other Americans.

The Colonel gets right up into Viper‟s face.

ARMY COLONEL (cont‟d)

You don‟t talk too much, do you?

MILITARY GUARD #2
He‟s barely said two words since
he‟s been incarcerated here.

ARMY COLONEL
What, pretty boy all nervous?
He can‟t handle the piss poor
conditions, is that why he
doesn‟t speak?

The colonel turns to the surrounding guards behind him.

ARMY COLONEL (cont‟d)

Load him into the truck and
secure him.

Guards grab Viper and walk him to the back of an Armored

Personnel Carrier.

MILITARY GUARD #1
Colonel, I‟m sure you are well
aware, but I just want to warn
you, this thing is pure evil,
he‟s capable of anything. We‟ve
witnessed him first hand over
the past few months, we know what
he‟s about. Don‟t turn your back
on him for a second.

ARMY COLONEL
Thank you for the advice soldier,
but I‟ve got it from here. I think
I‟ll be able to take care of this
with no problem.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 7

The colonel walks to the back of the vehicle where he sees

Viper securely strapped and shackled into a small cell.

Once Viper is settled in, the soldiers take the neck

restraint off of him.

ARMY COLONEL
Enjoy the ride.

The colonel slams the back door shut.

EXT. – AN ACCESS ROAD, OUTSIDE OF THE BASE – DAY

The convoy, flanked by two helicopters, exits the military

base and drives down an access road.

INT. – THE MILITARY VEHICLE HOLDING VIPER

The Colonel, sitting in the front passenger seat, takes a

Cuban cigar out from an inside jacket pocket. He takes a
long whiff of it, carefully lights it, and takes a puff.

ARMY COLONEL
Ahhh, there‟s nothing better
than hitting up a good Cuban
during a relaxing afternoon
drive.

The Colonel leans back in his seat, completely relaxed. He

knocks his fist on the metal divider behind him to get
Viper‟s attention in the back of the vehicle.

ARMY COLONEL (cont‟d)

You know, you‟re lucky that those
friggin‟ politically correct
bureaucrats in Washington closed
down Guantanamo. If it wasn‟t
for that, you‟d be rotting away
in Cuba for the rest of your
life, forgotten by the world
and getting tortured for the
rest of your natural existence.
Electroshocking your balls, rape,
waterboarding, the whole nine yards.
(pause)
But no, apparently Guantanamo was
too inhumane in the eyes of some
people. Which means that now you‟re

my problem. It‟s almost unfair,
someone like you getting three
square meals a day, access to a
TV and a weight room. You‟re
living better than millions of
other good, decent Americans living
in this country.

The Colonel pauses to take a big puff of his cigar and

blows the smoke slowly into Viper‟s cage.

ARMY COLONEL (cont‟d)

And don‟t get me started on how
you escaped a military tribunal and
instead get tried by a jury of your
peers. I mean a jury let O.J. off
of murder, so there‟s no telling
what may happen with twelve ordinary
people judging your fate.
(pause)
If you get off on a technicality,
so help me god I will hunt you do
and kill you. I swear to god I
will do that.
(pause)
I wish we could just bury you in a
hole out in the middle of nowhere
and forget about you.

The colonel looks through an opening protected with bars

that allows him to keep an eye on Viper in the back.

ARMY COLONEL (cont‟d)

Hey, don‟t go to sleep on me in
there. We need you bright eyed
and bushy-tailed for court.

Viper is sitting in the back corner of the vehicle, staring

at the floor and not acknowledging the Colonel. Then he
closes his eyes and leans his head back against the side.

EXT. - ISOLATED ROAD - DAY

The convoy is speeding down a desolate road in the middle

of nowhere, still flanked by helicopters.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 9

INT. – THE MILITARY VEHICLE HOLDING VIPER

VIPER‟S CAGE

Viper looks down at his watch, which says “2:59 PM.”

Upon noticing what time it is, Viper laughs which draws the
attention of the Colonel.

ARMY COLONEL
(angrily)
What‟s so funny, why are you
laughing?
(pause)
I said, what‟s so funny?!

Still laughing, Viper stares at the Colonel, finally

acknowledging his existence, and speaks for the first time.

VIPER
(smirks)
You‟ll see.

Viper puts his head back against the side of the vehicle
and closes his eyes again.

The Colonel is perplexed by Viper‟s behavior and just turns

back around.

EXT. – ISOLATED ROAD - DAY

A U-Haul truck is broken down along the side of the road.

A shady looking man in his thirties is looking under the
hood, trying to fix the truck.

As the convoy passes, the man looks up from the hood and
stares at it. He makes eye contact with the Colonel.

INT. – THE MILITARY VEHICLE HOLDING VIPER

The Colonel notices this man staring at him but is not too
concerned about his predicament though.

ARMY COLONEL
This is a hell of a place to
breakdown. He might be stranded
there for a while.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 10

ARMY DRIVER
Sir, should I call in help for
him?

ARMY COLONEL
No solider, let‟s just concentrate
on the mission at hand.

EXT. – ISOLATED ROAD - DAY

The man slams down the hood and hurries into the driver‟s
seat. He drives up to the convoy, trailing it by about 50
yards.

INT. – THE MILITARY VEHICLE HOLDING VIPER

Viper is sitting in complete peacefulness with his eyes

still closed. His hands are together, like he‟s praying.

EXT. – ISOLATED ROAD - DAY

IN FRONT OF THE CONVOY

A man dressed in camouflage is hiding up in a tree about

200 yards in front of the convoy. He is holding an RPG
launcher on his right shoulder aimed at the convoy.

He looks across the road at another camouflaged man who is

also hiding in a tree armed with an RPG launcher. They are
trading hand signals to coordinate their timing.

Hidden within the tall grass alongside the road are several
mercenary-type men dressed in all black. They are lying on
their stomachs and holding M-16 machine guns.

IN BACK OF THE CONVOY

The U-Haul truck pulls up closer to the back of the convoy.

Then the driver abruptly turns the vehicle so it is
blocking both lanes, cutting off passageway in either
direction.

The driver gets out of the truck brandishing a machine gun

and runs into the tall grass on the side of the road.

IN A HELICOPTER SUPPORTING THE CONVOY

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 11

HELICOPTER PILOT
We see no problems on the horizon,
estimated time of arrival is…

The pilot pauses as he notices a flash coming from a tree

in the distance.

HELICOPTER PILOT (cont‟d)

Wait, what the hell is that!

A grenade shot from the tree hits the helicopter causing an

instant explosion and blowing it to pieces.

A split second after the first helicopter is hit; the

second helicopter is hit and blows up as well.

IN FRONT OF THE CONVOY

Two of the MERCENARIES run out of the tall grass onto the
road and in front of the convoy. They begin to shoot up
the first vehicle of the convoy with their machine guns.

The windshield is shot out as the two soldiers inside are

hit multiple times. The tires are blown out as well
causing the vehicle to stop in the middle of the road.

This causes mass confusion within the convoy and a domino

effect as one vehicle after another crashes into each
other. A pile-up in the middle of the road ensues.

INT. – MILITARY VEHICLE HOLDING VIPER

The colonel is thrown around the cab of the vehicle as they

try to avoid crashing into the vehicle in front of them.

ARMY COLONEL
What the hell is going on! What
the hell is going on up there!

The vehicle makes a few moves to evade the other vehicles

but they ultimately crash into the pile-up created in front
of them. The damaged vehicle comes to a stop.

The Colonel has a bruise on his forehead from hitting it

against the door.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 12

ARMY COLONEL
(to the driver)
Come on, get out! We have to
create a perimeter around the
vehicle and secure the prisoner!

The colonel looks into the back of the vehicle where Viper
is imprisoned.

VIPER‟S CAGE

Viper is still just sitting there silently.

ARMY COLONEL
Did you do this?!

Viper looks down at the floor and doesn‟t acknowledge him.

EXT. – ISOLATED ROAD – DAY

IN FRONT OF THE CONVOY

With the convoy now stuck with no escape route, five

mercenaries run out into the road firing their weapons
while a few stay hidden off the road firing at anything
that moves in or around the vehicles.

The two tree-dwelling mercenaries repel down to the ground,

throwing their RPG launchers to the side of the road. Then
they take out their pistols and join the attack.

A fierce gun battle erupts between the mercenaries and the

soldiers in the convoy.

The mercenaries scramble to take up positions around the

convoy, while the soldiers hustle out of their vehicles and
take cover behind them.

OUTSIDE OF THE COLONEL‟S MILITARY VEHICLE

The Colonel storms out of the passenger‟s side and

immediately pulls out his pistol, firing indiscriminately
into the tall grass hoping to hit someone.

ARMY COLONEL
(growling)
Die, die, die! Boys, secure the
vehicle; don‟t let anyone come

within twenty yards!

The Colonel carefully backs up to the back of the vehicle

while continuing to fire off round after round.

There are two soldiers protecting both sides from behind

the vehicle, guarding the entrance to Viper‟s cage.

ARMY COLONEL
Whatever you do, whatever happens,
don‟t open this door!
(pause)
If this door opens, you‟ll unleash
hell on earth!

During the vicious gun battle, one of the soldiers guarding

the cage is shot followed shortly by the other soldier.

This leaves the Colonel as the lone defender of Viper‟s

cage, which he is vigorously defending.

A slender, non-descript MERCENARY wearing a hat and

sunglasses and dressed in all black approaches the convoy
along the side of the road.

Going undetected, the mercenary confidently marches up the

road toward the vehicle holding Viper.

INT. – MILITARY VEHICLE HOLDING VIPER

VIPER‟S CAGE

Viper picks the lock on his handcuffs then his leg

shackles.

Once finished, he crawls over to the small opening in the

metal divider so he can see the action outside. Upon
surveying the scene, Viper cracks an evil smile.

EXT. – ISOLATED ROAD - DAY

BEHIND THE VEHICLE HOLDING VIPER

The Colonel runs out of bullets in his pistol and throws it

down in anger and frustration.

He picks up one of the dead soldier‟s machine guns and

begins firing fiercely while letting out loud growls.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 14

The mercenary continues walking alongside the road getting

closer and closer to the middle of the convoy and the
vehicle holding Viper.

After firing off several rounds, the Colonel is shot in the

shoulder.

While clutching his upper body and temporarily tending to

his wound, he is shot a second time in the stomach.

The colonel keels over in pain while desperately clinging

to his machine gun. He musters up enough strength to stand
up straight and aim his weapon.

Suddenly, the mysterious mercenary, who has been creeping

up from the other side of the convoy, appears behind the
Colonel. He doesn‟t realize somebody is behind him.

ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, IN THE TALL GRASS

When they notice one of their people standing behind the

Colonel, the mercenaries stop shooting at him.

BEHIND THE VEHICLE HOLDING VIPER

The mercenary pulls out a pistol and aims it only an inch

away from the back of the Colonel‟s head.

The trigger is pulled and he is shot at point blank range.

Blood gushes from his head as he slowly falls to the
ground.

The mercenary takes her sunglasses and hat off revealing

that the person is, in fact, VIXEN, a tall, exotic looking,
female brunette. She takes a few pins out of her hair and
let‟s down her long, brown hair.

Vixen shoots the lock off the back door of the truck that
is containing Viper and whips the door open.

Viper emerges from the darkness of his cage and enjoys his
first breath of fresh air in a long time.

He looks over to Vixen with a big smile.

VIPER
(smoothly)
Vixen.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 15

VIXEN
Viper.

Viper jumps out of the truck, embraces Viper and gives her
a passionate kiss.

VIPER
I‟m happy to see you. You‟re a
sight for sore eyes.

VIXEN
Come on, let‟s go before
reinforcements get here.

Viper reaches down and picks up a few handguns and machine

guns from the dead solders‟ hands.

Vixen grabs Viper‟s hand and runs towards the U-Haul truck
that was parked on the side of the road behind the convoy.

AT THE U-HAUL TRUCK

Vixen hollers out to the mercenaries who are roaming around

the convoy collecting weapons, cigarettes, money and
anything else they can take from the dead soldiers.

VIXEN
Let‟s go, men. We‟re out!

A few of the mercenaries set explosive devices in the

decimated convoy. Then they rush over to the U-Haul and
pile into the back.

Once they‟ve all boarded, Vixen closes up the back of the

truck and then she and Viper enter the cab.

As the U-Haul takes off down the road, the devices go off
in the convoy setting off several large explosions.

INT. – U-HAUL TRUCK, FRONT CAB

Viper is driving down the empty road while Vixen is very

relaxed sitting in the passenger‟s seat.

VIXEN
What now?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 16

VIPER
I don‟t know, maybe I‟ll give
myself up to the first local
sheriff I see. You know this
five minutes of freedom has
been fun and all, but I don‟t
think it‟s for me.

VIXEN
(laughs)
Yeah, I‟m sure we went through
this whole elaborate plan just
so you can be sent back to prison.
Seriously, we succeeded in getting
you out, but what do we do now?
You know you can‟t show your face
anywhere.
(pause)
We should‟ve planned this out
when we were planning your escape.

VIPER
One step at a time; the most
important thing was getting me
free, I didn‟t want to
overcomplicate things by creating
an elaborate plan that involved
too many steps. I was worried
we‟d lose focus at that point and
screw up the rescue.

VIXEN
OK, now you‟re free though. So
what are we going to do?

VIPER
Well, after we dump this truck,
I figure we‟ll hideout in Miami
for a little bit.

VIXEN
Not a bad idea. There are so
many criminals in Miami already,
we should blend right in.

VIPER
Exactly. Actually, we‟re going
to go see one of my main financial

supporters, he lives on the Beach.
He should be able to arrange safe
passage for us out of the country.

VIXEN
Can we trust him?

VIPER
Oh yeah, we can trust him, believe
me. He was the one who financed
some of my finest acts. He‟s on
the level, and he will help us.

VIXEN
If you say so. Hey, if you trust
him, I‟ll trust him.

Vixen notices two unique looking palm trees next to each

other on the side of the desolate road.

VIXEN
Pull over. The car should be
somewhere around here.

Viper pulls over to the side of the road.

EXT. – ISOLATED ROAD IN THE EVERGLADES – DAY

Viper pulls the U-Haul truck over to the side of the road
and both he and Vixen get out.

Vixen immediately heads into the tall grass as Viper hangs

out on the shoulder of the road.

A few seconds later, Vixen backs out of the tall grass in a

yellow Lamborghini and pulls onto the side of the road.

Vixen gets out of the car.

VIPER
(in awe)
Nice ride.

VIXEN
I figured we‟d need something fast
for our escape. Are you ready?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 18

VIPER
Not yet, we need to take care of
one more thing.

INT. – U-HAUL TRAILER

The mercenaries are sitting in the back of the trailer

laughing, smiling and high-fiving each other. Some are
even blowing rings with the smoke from their cigars.

EXT. – ISOLATED ROAD – DAY

Viper walks back over to the front cab of the U-Haul truck
and opens the passenger side door. He takes a machine gun
out and approaches Vixen.

VIPER
Would you like to do the honors?

VIXEN
What do you mean?

VIPER
What do you think I mean? We
can‟t have any witnesses.

VIXEN
Yeah, but I thought we were just
going to leave them all locked
up in the back while we rode off
into the sunset?

VIPER
We can‟t do that. No survivors.
They‟re mercenaries, that‟s who
we hired. They‟ll do anything
for money…hence their name.
The second the cops find them
they‟re going to open their
mouths. That‟d fuck everything
up. We need to get to Miami
before anyone figures out
exactly what the hell happened
here. The last thing we need
is the cops closing down I-95
in both directions and launching
a nationwide manhunt before we
even get to my guy in Miami.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 19

VIXEN
(reluctantly)
OK, I understand. But you can
do the dirty work.

VIPER
That‟s fine by me.

Vixen walks over to the Lamborghini and gets in the

passenger‟s seat.

Viper fires several shots at the trailer then, aiming at

the fuel tank, he fires until a direct shot blows up the
truck and kills all the mercenaries sitting in the back.

He drops the gun and takes his time walking back to the
Lamborghini. Once there he gets into the driver‟s seat.

INT. – U-HAUL TRAILER

All the mercenaries are lying bloody and burned in the

trailer that‟s on fire; some are lying on top of others.

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

VIPER
Now we can go.

Viper leans over and kisses Vixen.

VIPER (cont‟d)
Shall we?

VIXEN
Let‟s go.

VIPER
It‟s been a while, let‟s see if
I remember how to drive one of
these things.

Viper kicks it into gear.

EXT. – ISOLATED ROAD - DAY

The Lamborghini peels out and speeds down the road.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 20

The car passes a sign along the side of the road that
reads: “Dade County - 350 miles”

EXT. – RICKENBACKER CAUSEWAY, DOWNTOWN MIAMI – DAY

A red FERRARI speeds across lanes down the causeway with

scenic downtown Miami in the background.

INT. – SOUTH BEACH GYM

The dark and musty gym is very old school and is for the
serious workout enthusiast and boxers-in-training.

There are several muscular men working out in different

areas.

DIESEL, a big, muscular man in his thirties is in the

corner of the gym. He‟s lifting heavy weights over his
head during an intense workout.

EXT. – SOUTH BEACH GYM, PARKING LOT

The Ferrari roars into the parking lot and pulls right up
to the gym entrance, taking up two spots.

Out of the car steps MAGNUM, a tall, slender African-

American man in his early thirties. He walks into the gym.

INT. – SOUTH BEACH GYM

Magnum walks through the gym and over to the area that
Diesel is working out in.

MAGNUM
What‟s up player?

Diesel greets him with a strong handshake.

DIESEL
What‟s up Magnum?

MAGNUM
Chillin‟ bro.

DIESEL
Hey man, come over and help me
out here.

Diesel walks over to an area with a punching bag.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 21

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Gimme some support and hold this
while I take some punches.

MAGNUM
Alright, no problem.

Magnum holds the bag as Diesel punches it. Each punch is

thrown harder and harder.

Once Diesel tires out, he stops punching and takes a deep

breath. Magnum hands him a towel to wipe off.

MAGNUM
Hey Diesel, I got to tell you
something.

DIESEL
What is it?

MAGNUM
Viper escaped.

DIESEL
What?
(pause)
When? How?

MAGNUM
Yesterday, up around Jacksonville.
They were transporting him to federal
court. There was some kind of big
shoot out, they don‟t know exactly
what happened or how he escaped, but
he got away.

DIESEL
Are you kidding me?

MAGNUM
No.

In anger, Diesel winds up and hits the punching bag with

all of his might.

DIESEL
God damn it! God damn it! That
fucking cocksucker!
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 22

MAGNUM
Yeah, sorry man.

DIESEL
I can‟t believe he‟s out, roaming
the streets.
(pause)
I have to do something.

MAGNUM
Why don‟t you let the police
handle this? Well screw the
police; you know the FBI, the
CIA, the military and Interpol
are probably all on the case
by now. Why don‟t you let them
do their jobs and risk their
lives. I‟m sure they‟ll capture
him.

DIESEL
I can‟t sit idly by and do nothing,
besides I know things that the
feds don‟t about Viper. Remember
I worked in the same club as him.
I know his contacts and connections,
I know his potential hiding places;
I know everything about Viper.

MAGNUM
So why don‟t you just turn that
information over to the authorities?

DIESEL
Are you serious? The feds can
fuck up a cup of coffee. They
wouldn‟t know what to do with a
good tip if it came up and bit
them on their collective asses.
(pause)
No, I want to get him myself.
I want revenge. I want to punish
him for what he did. Besides, the
cops don‟t have the balls to pull
the trigger if they find him…I
do. It‟s payback time.

MAGNUM
Fair enough.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 23

DIESEL
I could really use your help.
It could get dangerous though.
(pause)
Are you in?

Magnum thinks about Diesel‟s question for a moment.

MAGNUM
You know I‟m always down with
helping you.

Magnum shakes Diesel‟s hand.

DIESEL
Thanks bro.

MAGNUM
I got to ask one thing though.

DIESEL
What‟s that?

MAGNUM
I need to know exactly what I‟m
getting myself into. Now I know
you know Viper and you‟ve worked
with him before and you had a big
falling out even before he became
recognized as this global terrorist.
But I only know the very basics.
(pause)
I need to know the whole story
between you and him. I think
I‟m owed that much if I‟m going
to get knee-deep into this shit;
the guy is a maniac.

DIESEL
We had much more than a falling
out, but OK, I‟ll give you the
background.

MAGNUM
Thanks, that‟s all I want.

DIESEL
Let me take a shower, then we‟ll

head over to Monty‟s and grab a
drink.

MAGNUM
Sounds good, I‟m going to do a
few things then I‟ll meet you
there.

Diesel wraps the towel over his head and walks across the
gym to the locker room.

EXT. – OCEAN DRIVE, SOUTH BEACH – DAY

A typical sun-drenched weekend afternoon on Ocean Drive.

Bikini-clad women are walking along the sidewalk while
others are rollerblading down the street.

Fancy cars – Ferraris, Hummers, Porsches, etc – are

cruising slowly down the street so that everyone can see
them and they can see everyone.

Viper‟s yellow Lamborghini, with its top down, drives down

the street.

VIPER‟S LAMBORGHINI

Viper is driving with Vixen in the passenger‟s seat.

They‟re both dressed in all black and wearing sunglasses.

VIXEN
Don‟t you think it‟s dangerous
to be cruising down Ocean Drive
with the top down?

VIPER
(devilish smile)
Yes, but I like to live dangerously.

VIXEN
And you‟re not afraid that
somebody will recognize you?

VIPER
So let them. I just want to
enjoy my freedom, cruise down
the Drive with the top down and
the window blowing through my

hair.
(pause)
Besides if any Joe Public even
thinks about doing anything, I‟ll
fucking kill them.

Viper looks down in his lap, where an automatic rifle is

sitting.

VIXEN
So where exactly are we going?

VIPER
We‟re going to see one of my main
financiers, you know the guy I
was talking about the other day.
He has a house on Star Island.
He‟ll give us some money for
new clothes and a place to stay.
He should also be able to hook
us up with an exit strategy too.
Hopefully in a few days we‟ll
be living in obscurity, sunning
ourselves on a Greek island.

VIXEN
You think it‟ll be safe to go
over his place?

VIPER
Oh yeah, it should be fine. I
don‟t think the feds ever made
a connection between him and me.
Besides the local authorities,
hell even the feds too, probably
don‟t know I‟m free yet.
Everything will be ok.

Viper pops a disc into the CD player and turns it up loud.

Viper pulls up to a red light and admires all the hot women
walking along the sidewalk. He even lowers his sunglasses
at a point to get a better view.

VIPER (cont‟d)
God damn, I love this city.
Don‟t worry babe, we‟ll be there
in five minutes.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 26

Viper peels out the Lamborghini once the stop light turns
green and speeds down the street.

EXT. – MONTY‟S RAW OYSTER RESTAURANT, COCONUT GROVE – DAY

Diesel and Magnum are sitting at a picnic table on the

outside deck by the water.

A waitress approaches their table and drops off two mixed

drinks.

MONTY‟S WAITRESS
Here you go gentlemen.

DIESEL
Thanks doll.

MONTY‟S WAITRESS
Do you guys need anything else
for now?

DIESEL
No, we‟re all set.

The waitress walks away from the table.

Both men take a drink. Diesel, who‟s wearing sunglasses,

looks out over the water and watches several sailboats in
the distance.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
It‟s a nice day on the water.

MAGNUM
It is.

Diesel and Magnum stay silent for a moment as they both

take in the picturesque scene on the water.

MAGNUM
So Diesel? Tell me about Viper.
What‟s the beef?

Diesel looks away from the water and turns his attention to
Magnum, who‟s sitting across the table from him.

DIESEL
Viper…Viper. It‟s more than just
beef.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 27

MAGNUN
Well I figured that, so what is it,
why is it so personal? I mean,
granted, everyone in this country
would like to kick his ass and beat
the shit out of him. But it‟s
different with you, I can see it.

DIESEL
So years ago, before I even knew
you, I used to be the head bouncer
and part-time manager of that
mega-club Rage on Washington
Street, right?

MAGNUM
Yeah.

DIESEL
And Viper ran the club for a guy
named Mohammed; some shady Middle
East businessman who bought the
club to launder money.

MAGNUM
And you ended up knocking Viper
on his ass in a fight at the club.

DIESEL
That I did; right before I got
cold-cocked from behind and
knocked out. So you know why
I punched him?

MAGNUM
No, you never told me.

DIESEL
One night the bartenders were
running out of ten dollar bills
at the cash registers, so I ran
downstairs to the office, where
the safe was, to grab some more
money. When I got there I found
Viper on the phone; I never trusted
that prick, I always thought he
was off, so instead of just
interrupting his call, I decided
(MORE)

DIESEL (cont‟d)
to hang back, hide out in the
corner and listen in to what he was
up to. I caught Viper talking to
someone about how he blew up the
Federal Courthouse in Ft. Lauderdale
the month before. A friend of
Mohammed‟s was scheduled to go
on trial a few weeks later on
drug trafficking and murder charges.
He was facing life in prison and
billions of dollars in fines, not
millions, billions. Viper blew
up that building. So I confronted
him right then and there, I punched
him; and then all of a sudden from
behind I got suckerpunched. I‟m
guessing it was one of Mohammed‟s
goons. I always thought Viper was
shady, but until that moment, I
had no idea that he was this
terrorist mastermind.
(pause)
Well, when I finally came to I
realized I was in the alley outside
the club. The next day I tried to
go into the club to see Mohammed,
I figured that Viper was on the
run by this time, but I wanted to
figure out what kind of involvement
Mohammed had in all of this.
Unfortunately, I only get ten feet
into the place before I‟m approached
by about eight guys, a few of them
who were my friends just 24 hours
before, who tell me that Mohammed
is not available. Then they proceed
to pick me up, rush me out of the
club and beat the shit out of me
in an alley before tossing me in
a dumpster like I was just another
piece of garbage.

MAGNUM
Wow.

Diesel takes a moment to look out at the peacefulness of

the Bay again before looking back at Magnum.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 29

DIESEL
So the reason why I was so pissed
at Viper for blowing up the
courthouse?
(pause)
My pregnant girlfriend worked as
a law clerk in the building.

MAGNUM
(shocked)
Really?

DIESEL
I had just found out the week
before she was pregnant. We had
been dating for over three years
at that point. I was picking her
up from work on a Friday. I was
going to take her to a nice, fancy
dinner on Las Olas that night to
propose to her. I even had the
ring in my pocket.
(pause)
She steps out of the building and
she sees me on the street hanging
out against my car. When she sees
me she gives me this big wave and
a huge smile covers her whole face.
It was so nice.
(pause)
Well all of a sudden, as soon as
she takes one step forward, BOOM!
A huge bomb goes off. The force
of the explosion blows me over
my car. I get up and see her
propelled into the air, she must
have gone up 15-20 feet high and
flew through the air maybe 30
yards or so. She landed right on
the hood of a car, half of her body
went through its windshield. I
tried to help her, I did everything
I could. But it wasn‟t enough.
She had shrapnel all in her back and
her neck and chest were all cut up
from the glass of the windshield.
She was already dead by the time I
got to her.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 30

MAGNUM
(shocked)
Holy shit Diesel, how come you
never told me this?

DIESEL
It‟s tough, it was tough to live
through and it‟s especially tough
to relive it.

MAGNUM
I can imagine.

DIESEL
Plus I didn‟t even know you at
that point of my life, so I didn‟t
want to bring any of that past
baggage into our friendship.

MAGNUM
Yeah but that‟s not even baggage
Diesel, that‟s your life, a big
part of your life.

DIESEL
I know. It hurts, I loved that
girl so much. I still do love
her very much. And that asshole
took it all away, in the blink of
an eye. That asshole.
(pause)
I never want to forget about her,
and I never will. It‟s just that
it‟s really tough to talk about
it. We were going to have a great
life together, I know we would‟ve.

MAGNUM
I understand, I mean talk about
bringing up bad memories.

DIESEL
That‟s why I‟m going to find this
guy and deliver my own brand of
justice; not just for me, not
just for Sarah, my dead girlfriend,
but for everyone else that was hurt
or affected by his senseless acts.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 31

MAGNUM
Diesel, I‟m here for you, You
can believe that, that‟s the truth.
We‟ll take this prick down together.

Magnum extends his arm over the table for a handshake,

Diesel accepts it.

DIESEL
Good, let‟s get to work.

MAGNUM
What are we going to do first?

Diesel stands up and throws some money on the table to pay

the bill.

DIESEL
We‟re going to go to Star Island
and knock on Mohammed‟s front door.

EXT. - MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY – DAY

Viper‟s yellow Lamborghini is speeding down the causeway.

The car crosses between lanes, dodging in and out of

traffic; then takes a quick left onto an access road that
connects to Star Island.

They drive past a sign that says “Star Island” on the

access road.

EXT. – SECURITY HOUSE, ENTRY TO STAR ISLAND – DAY

The Lamborghini drives up to a quaint security house

located at the entry to the island.

VIXEN
We‟re gonna get caught. I can
feel it, we‟re gonna get caught.

VIPER
Just play it cool and we‟ll be
fine.

VIXEN
He‟s got a TV in there and I‟m
sure he‟s got a police scanner
too. We‟re so screwed.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 32

VIPER
Don‟t worry about it. Be cool.
We‟ll be alright. If worse comes
to worse, I‟ll put a bullet between
his eyes before he gets a chance
to figure out who we are.

A young security guard emerges from the house and stands

over Viper.

SECURITY GUARD
Good afternoon, sir.

VIPER
Hey there, what‟s going on?

SECURITY GUARD
And who are you visiting today?

VIPER
Mr. Mohammed.

SECURITY GUARD
Is he expecting you?

VIPER
(smoothly)
Why yes he is.

The security guard gives him a long stare, obviously

skeptical of something. After a tension-filled pause, he
speaks again.

SECURITY GUARD
Can I see your license so I can
check you in?

VIPER
Sorry, I don‟t have it on me.

SECURITY GUARD
(perplexed)
You don‟t have it on you?

VIPER
No.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 33

SECURITY GUARD
So does that mean you‟re currently
driving without a license?

VIPER
Hey, it‟s Miami. Me driving without
a license is the least of this
city‟s worries.

Vixen reaches into her purse, takes out her ID and

interrupts the conversation by forcing her license into the
guard‟s hands.

VIXEN
Here, take my ID. Is that ok?

The guard looks long and hard back and forth between the
license and Vixen and Viper.

Viper is cool, calm and collective. He‟s looking straight

ahead only occasionally acknowledging the guard and
seemingly not worried at all about anything.

SECURTIY GUARD
Ok, let me check you into the log.
Give me a second.

The guard walks back into the security house for a moment.

VIPER
That guy doesn‟t know how lucky
he is that you spoke up. I was
about to punch him right in the
throat if he questioned me anymore.

The guard comes back out and hands the license back to
Vixen. Although suspicious of the two, he ultimately lets
them go.

SECURITY GUARD
Ok, you can proceed. Do you know
where you‟re going?

Once Vixen takes the license back, Viper doesn‟t

acknowledge the guard‟s question and just speeds off.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 34

EXT. – STREET, STAR ISLAND – DAY

As Viper drives down a street on the island, Vixen looks

around in awe as she sees mansion after mansion on both
sides of the road.

EXT. – DRIVEWAY OF MOHAMMED‟S HOUSE, STAR ISLAND – DAY

Viper pulls up into the driveway of Mr. Mohammed‟s palatial

estate on the water.

Both Viper and Vixen get out of the car. They stand still
for a second in awe as they take in the enormous size of
the house. They slowly approach the front door.

EXT. – ON A STAGE OVERLOOKING THE WATER, COCONUT GROVE -

DAY

A makeshift stage is set up in a park overlooking the water

outside of a Miami police station. The waves are crashing
in the background and the wind is blowing hard.

The POLICE CHIEF, a balding, husky, middle-aged man, is

standing at the podium talking to a large group of
reporters seated about ten to twenty rows deep. Several TV
cameras are lined up recording the press conference.

The police chief is talking in the middle of a press

conference.

POLICE CHIEF
Make no mistake ladies and gentleman,
we are dealing with the most dangerous
man to ever roam the streets of
America. It goes without saying,
but everyone should consider him
armed and extremely dangerous.
(pause)
If anyone sees this man they call
Viper, you are urged to not approach
him; but rather call your local law
enforcement or 911.
(pause)
While every local, state and federal
agency is working around the clock
to bring him back into custody, we
need everyone‟s help in doing this.
To this end, we are offering an

unprecedented $25 million reward
for information leading to the
re-capture of Viper. That is how
serious we are and that is how
dangerous he is.
(pause)
I‟ll now open it up to questions.
Please keep in mind that this is
an on-going investigation and
therefore there are some things
that we cannot talk about at this
time.

Most of the reporters anxiously raise their hand and start

shouting. The police chief picks one of them out of the
crowd.

POLICE CHIEF (cont‟d)

Yes, you.

FEMALE REPORTER #1
It was well known that anytime
Viper was ever transported from
his prison, he always traveled in
a heavily armored convoy…

POLICE CHIEF
(interrupts)
That‟s correct.

FEMALE REPORTER #1
…Is there any confirmation as to
how he was able to escape?

POLICE CHIEF
I cannot comment on that at this
time.
(pause)
Next question.

The reporters once again raise their hands in an attempt to

get the chief‟s attention. The chief picks another one out
of the crowd.

POLICE CHIEF (cont‟d)

OK, you next.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 36

MALE REPORTER #1
Did he have an accomplice or
accomplices who might have helped
him pull off this daring escape?

POLICE CHIEF
Although I can neither confirm nor
deny anyone else‟s potential
involvement in his escape plan, it‟s
hard to imagine that he was able to
pull this off alone. We are actively
searching for any and all accomplices
he might have, whether they be old
friends or maybe someone new he met
in prison.
(pause)
Next question.

FEMALE REPORTER #2
Chief, if this whole escape was
hatched over 350 miles away up
in Jacksonville near the Georgia
border, why is a significant press
conference like this being held
all the way down here in Miami?

POLICE CHIEF
We have reason to believe that
Viper might have escaped down to
Miami already or that he might be
planning to come down here in the
very near future.

FEMALE REPORTER #2
And what gives you that idea? Do
you have specific intelligence
that leads you to this belief?

POLICE CHIEF
Once again, we can‟t get into
specifics; but Miami is a real
possibility for Viper which is
why we want all residents to remain
vigilant.
(pause)
Thank you everyone for coming here,
that‟s all we can say at this time.
We‟ll give you another update when

any additional information comes to
light.

ON A PIER, OFF TO THE DISTANCE FROM THE STAGE

Diesel and Magnum are hanging out on the pier watching the
press conference going on in the distance.

Although it‟s hard to hear him in the distance, both are

listening intently to what the chief is saying.

MAGNUM
(in awe)
$25 million!

DIESEL
That‟s what we call life‟s little
bonus.
(pause)
I‟m not doing any of this for the
money though.

MAGNUM
Yeah, but at the same time, $25
million is a nice chunk of change.

DIESEL
You got that right. We split it
right down the middle; 50 / 50.

MAGNUM
(taken aback)
Wait, are you sure? I‟m willing
to give you a larger percentage,
this is your thing anyways.

DIESEL
It‟s our thing. I thank you for
the nice gesture; but we‟re in
this together, so we‟re both
entitled to half. Agreed?

MAGNUM
As long as you‟re sure about that,
you know I‟m cool with it.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 38

DIESEL
Great, it‟s time to trek over to
Mohammed‟s.

MAGNUM
Diesel, why don‟t we just give the
cops Mohammed‟s info and tell them
about the link to Viper? That alone
could probably score us the $25
million and we could do it right
now.

DIESEL
True, but I want chance to confront
Viper in person before we collect.
If you‟re gonna go on this ride with
me, that‟s all I ask for. That you
allow me to find Viper before we
turn over any information to the
authorities.

MAGNUM
OK, Diesel, you know I‟m with you.

Magnum and Diesel both shake hands.

INT. – LIVING ROOM, MOHAMMED‟S HOUSE

Vixen is in awe as she and Viper enter the opulent living

room. It‟s a spacious room that features the best of both
new and old toys, such as antique decorations and the
latest hi-tech gadgets.

There‟s also a floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall window

overlooking the water.

MR. MOHAMMED is standing over to the side of the room. A

well groomed, well educated Arab, Mohammed is the epitome
of high society in Miami - dapper but yet mysterious.

He‟s tall and slender, with slicked back black hair, and is
wearing a buttoned up shirt and nicely pressed slacks.

MR. MOHAMMED
Viper, what a surprise.

Mohammed puts his cup of tea down on an end table and

approaches Viper and Vixen. He shakes Viper‟s hand.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 39

MR. MOHAMMED
How are you doing old friend? Were
you followed?

VIPER
No, we‟re cool.

Mohammed notices Vixen and her stunning good looks. He

shoots her a wide smile.

MR. MOHAMMED
Well, well, who do we have here?

VIXEN
I‟m Vixen.

MR. MOHAMMED
You certainly are.

VIPER
She‟s a friend of mine. And the
only one I can really trust at
this point.

MR. MOHAMMED
You can trust me, Viper.

Mohammed grabs Vixen‟s hand and gently kisses it.

MR. MOHAMMED (cont‟d)

Welcome Vixen. My home is your
home. Please make yourselves
comfortable.

Mohammed‟s butler enters the room.

MR. MOHAMMED (cont‟d)

Can I get you anything?

VIPER
We‟ll just take some ice water.

MR. MOHAMMED
Very good.
(to the butler)
Paco, some ice water please.

The butler bows his head and exits the room.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 40

MR. MOHAMMED (cont‟d)

Come on please, have a seat.

Mohammed, Viper and Vixen make their way over to the

sitting area of the living room.

Mohammed sits down on one couch while Viper and Vixen sit
down on one facing him.

VIPER
So do people know I‟m out yet?

MR. MOHAMMED
I would say so. It‟s all over the
news, non-stop coverage, every
channel you turn to, there‟s your
mug. Here, see for yourself.

Mohammed hits a button on a console located on an end table

next to him. This makes a pair of cabinet doors on the
wall open up, revealing a big screen TV.

Mohammed hits another button making the TV turn on.

A local NEWS ANCHOR is reporting from behind a news desk.

NEWS ANCHOR
(in mid-sentence)
…and the main story we‟ve been
following all day, the man known
internationally only as Viper has
escaped in Northern Florida and
officials are suspecting that he may
return to South Florida to hide and
quite possibly exit the country from
here. His escape has immediately
touched off the largest manhunt in
our nation‟s history. All bureaus
of law enforcement are involved and,
as everyone knows by now, a substantial
reward has been set for his re-capture.
We are dedicated to providing round
of the clock coverage of this breaking
news and will continue after this
short station break.

Mohammed puts the TV on mute.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 41

MR. MOHAMMED
You see, it‟s out now and you‟re
not safe. You‟re definitely not
safe here. The cops aren‟t that
dumb you know, they know who I am.
And while you and I have never been
formally linked together by the
authorities; I think they‟ve always
suspected a link. Once they get
their shit together and organize,
it‟s not going to take them long to
figure out that my house might be one
of the logical stops for you. And
even if they don‟t figure that out
they most likely will at least pay me
a visit just to keep the pressure on.

VIPER
I know, that‟s why we don‟t plan to
stay too long.

The butler comes back into the room and gives both Viper
and Vixen a glass of water.

VIXEN
Thanks.

VIPER
We came here because I thought you
could help me out of my predicament.
We‟ve done plenty of business in the
past without any problems and you‟ve
been someone I could trust.

Mohammed stands up and takes a few paces around.

MR. MOHAMMED
Yes, you‟ve certainly always earned
your paycheck and, on top of that,
I always knew you‟d do a great job.
I never had to worry about whether
or not you‟d execute a plan to
perfection.

Mohammed walks over to the window and gazes out to the

water.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 42

MR. MOHAMMED (cont‟d)

I know it must not have been easy
for you. You were given a lot of
tough assignments that were designed
to hurt your own country and its
people. You did the dirty work that
me and my people could have never
done in this day and age. In these
times, as a high profile Arab such
as myself, I can‟t leave the island
without being tailed by the cops
everywhere I go.

VIPER
It was all about the money. Yours
was green and it was plentiful.
I‟m a terrorist for hire, that‟s
who I am. I don‟t regret anything
I‟ve done. I‟m just out to get
mine. I consider the killings a
bonus for me.

Mohammed lets out a sinister laugh over Viper‟s last

comment.

MR. MOHAMMED
You are ruthless, are you?

VIPER
I‟m just a man that likes what he
does.

MR. MOHAMMED
Well, I‟m just glad you‟re on my
side.

VIPER
With all due respect sir, I‟m not
on your side. I‟m on whichever
side pays well.

VIXEN
(perplexed)
So Mr. Mohammed, what do you do
for a living?

Mohammed looks back at Vixen.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 43

MR. MOHAMMED
You want the truth?

VIXEN
Yes.

Mohammed looks at Viper for approval.

VIPER
It‟s ok, she‟s cool; trust me.

MR. MOHAMMED
I‟m an oilman, I own several oil
fields in Saudi Arabia and a few
other Middle East countries, like
Yemen.
(pause)
I‟m also an operative for Al Qaeda,
one of the lead organizers for the
group in this country.
(pause)
Since visas, immigration, and just
traveling into this country has
become so difficult in the past
several years, I was charged by the
senior leadership in Pakistan to
find American-born citizens willing
to carry out terrorism on their own
home soil. It‟s been a tough task.

VIPER
Vixen, Mr. Mohammed doesn‟t need to
go any further.

MR. MOHAMMED
No, that‟s ok. A guest in my house
has all the right to get to know me.
(pause)
I‟ve hired your friend on several
occasions to carry out some of the
group‟s plots. It actually wasn‟t
as difficult as we thought it‟d be.
Viper was never really suspected
in any of the attacks, well that is
until he got caught on the last one;
then everything began to unravel.
But you‟re friend, he‟s a stand up
gentleman. He told the cops nothing

and didn‟t rat out anybody; and
therefore the cops kept running into
dead ends in their investigations.
(pause)
Oh yes, the group is very lucky to
have someone as good and professional
as Viper among its operatives.

VIPER
Ok, that‟s enough.

Vixen looks shocked, she knows that Viper was a terrorist

but apparently she didn‟t know that he had ties to Al
Qaeda.

VIPER (cont‟d)
So, can you help us?

MR. MOHAMMED
Lucky for you, I had a feeling you
would stop by at some point. When
I first heard you escaped the other
day, I put a plan into action.

Mohammed walks back over to his couch and sits down.

MR. MOHAMMED (cont‟d)

An Algerian cargo ship took off from
the Mediterranean Sea a several days
ago. It‟s scheduled to arrive at
the port of Miami in about 24 hours.
This ship will drop off whatever oil
supplies it‟s carrying and then it
will smuggle you, and your friend,
to France. Once in France, a car,
new clothes and a country home will
be at your disposal. You‟ll be
starting a new life and you will
have your freedom. Your safety
will be handled by one of the cells
operating in France; you‟ll be
given more information on that
once you board the ship.

VIPER
This is very kind of you to arrange.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 45

MR. MOHAMMED
It‟s the least I can do. Like I
said, you have about 24 hours until
your transportation arrives. Stay
invisible and you should have no
problem escaping.

VIXEN
(to Viper)
Well what do we do until then?

Mohammed opens a draw in the end table and takes out a

stack of money and a piece of folded paper.

MR. MOHAMMED
As you can probably imagine, I can‟t
give you much help until the cargo
ship arrives. There‟s too much
heat on me, especially now that the
police chief just gave a big press
conference about a half an hour ago.
It‟s serious, I mean I even get this
living room swept for bugs every day.
(pause)
I‟m sure that the feds‟ attention
will be on me the next few days and
if I try any sort of interaction
with you, you might be compromised.
You should get out of here now.

Mohammed throws the stack of money into Viper‟s lap.

MR. MOHAMMED (cont‟d)

Here‟s $10,000. I know it‟s just
pocket change, but it‟s all I can
do right now.

VIPER
It‟s plenty. We can survive on our
own for the next two days.

MR. MOHAMMED
And one more thing…
(pause)
I‟d like you to take care of some-
thing while you‟re waiting around
for the ship.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 46

Mohammed carefully hands over the folded piece of paper to

Viper. Viper unfolds the paper and looks at it, showing no
emotion as he reads the contents.

He keeps it to himself, not even showing Vixen, as he folds

it back up and puts it into his pants pocket.

MR. MOHAMMED (cont‟d)

Of course, this will be in lieu
of a monetary payment to me for
organizing your safe escape from
America. Will you do it?

Viper pauses to think about it for a moment.

VIPER
It doesn‟t look like I have much
of a choice. I will do this for
you.

MR. MOHAMMED
Good. But watch out, this is very
dangerous and you‟re supposed to be
invisible. Proceed with extreme
caution.

VIPER
I will.

Viper and Mohammed stand up simultaneously followed by

Vixen.

MR. MOHAMMED
Thank you.

Viper and Mohammed shake hands as they walk out of the

living room.

MR. MOHAMMED (cont‟d)

It was nice seeing you again.
(looking at Vixen)
And it was a pleasure meeting you.

Mohammed kisses Vixen‟s hand.

MR. MOHAMMED
Viper, watch yourself out there.
Good luck.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 47

Mohammed gives Viper a warm handshake.

VIPER
Hopefully the next time you see
me, I won‟t be in handcuffs on
the eleven o‟clock news.

MR. MOHAMMED
You‟re too good to get caught a
second time.
(pause)
If all goes according to plan, I
won‟t be seeing you again. Once
you do that job for me you‟re to
proceed immediately to the ship
where your freedom awaits.

EXT. – MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY – DAY

Diesel‟s blue Lotus is speeding down the MacArthur

Causeway, dodging in and out of traffic, heading towards
Star Island.

EXT. – BRIDGE ROAD, MIAMI BEACH – DAY

Diesel stops at a red light then turns onto the access road
that leads to Star Island.

As he and Magnum drive down the access road, Viper‟s yellow

Lamborghini is speeding down the road in the other
direction as they leave the Island.

Diesel pulls up to the guard house.

AT THE SECURTIY GUARD HOUSE

Diesel rolls down his window as the Security Guard

approaches.

SECURITY GUARD
Good day sir, how can I help you
today?

DIESEL
I‟m here to see Mr. Mohammed.

SECURITY GUARD
Quite a popular guy today. OK, can

I see your license so I can sign
you in and notify Mr. Mohammed.

DIESEL
That won‟t be necessary.

SECURITY GUARD
Well sir, I‟ll need your license;
it‟s procedure.

DIESEL
Actually I‟m going up to the house
to surprise Mr. Mohammed. It‟s his
birthday in a few days and we‟re
old friends; I haven‟t seen him in
years in fact, so I‟d rather you not
tip him off and ruin the surprise.

The security guard looks at Diesel skeptically.

SECURITY GUARD
Sir, I can‟t let you go through.

Diesel looks straight ahead intensely.

MAGNUM
Oh boy, what are you thinking
Diesel?

Diesel quickly kicks the car into gear and peels out. He
drives right through the security guard gate and speeds
down the street.

The security guard jumps into the street behind Diesel‟s

car waving his arms and yelling at him.

EXT. – MR. MOHAMMED‟S HOUSE, FRONT YARD – DAY

Diesel speeds down the road and crashes right through

Mohammed‟s front gate.

He drives off of the paved driveway and parks the car on

the lawn, close to the front door.

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

Diesel opens his glove compartment and takes out a 44

Magnum gun; he checks the clip.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 49

MAGNUM
Let‟s not do anything too stupid.

DIESEL
Don‟t worry about me Magnum, I
just want to talk to him.

Diesel gets out of the car and puts his gun in his
waistband behind his back. Magnum gets out of the car
also.

EXT. – MR. MOHAMMED‟S HOUSE, FRONT YARD – DAY

Diesel walks up to the front of the house with purpose. As

soon as he gets about ten feet to the door; several large
bodyguards, dressed in crisp, black suits and sunglasses,
exit the house and get right in front of him.

DIESEL
Hey fellas, mind your own business;
I just want to talk to Mr. Mohammed.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Mr. Mohammed isn‟t even home right
now. Diesel, why don‟t you turn
around, walk back to your car and
get out of here.
(pause)
You do that, we‟ll forget that you
crashed through Mr. Mohammed‟s gate.
(pause)
If you don‟t, then we‟re going to
have problems.

DIESEL
Look guy, I just want to talk to
my old friend.

Diesel tries to walk to the front door, but the bodyguard

pushes his chest to keep him standing right where he is.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Don‟t take one more step Diesel.

DIESEL
Or what?

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Or we‟ll be forced to…
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 50

Diesel interrupts the bodyguard by pulling out the gun in

his waistband and pointing it at him.

Immediately, the four other bodyguards point their guns at

Diesel. Magnum is standing off to the side watching all
this unfold.

The bodyguard just stands there and laughs at Diesel‟s

chutzpah.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
(laughing)
Are you serious?

DIESEL
Dead serious.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Diesel, you have no escape. You
shoot me, my four men here will
annihilate you.

DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
That may be so, unless my boy over
here finishes them off before they
can even pull their triggers.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
(laughing)
Really? And we should be afraid
of him? He doesn‟t even have a
gun.

DIESEL
You‟re right; he has a grenade in
his pocket. The slightest move by
my boy Magnum over here and it can
go off at any time.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
You‟re bluffing.

DIESEL
Maybe I am, maybe I‟m not.

You‟re outmanned here though; you

don‟t have the strength of numbers
to do anything.

DIESEL
Fine, make your move if you‟re so
confident.

Diesel stares the bodyguard down as the bodyguard

contemplates his next move. Diesel eggs him on.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Go ahead, make your move.

The bodyguard continues thinking to himself.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Look, you‟re not getting in this
house, but also Mr. Mohammed means
you no harm. You turn around,
head back to your car and leave
peacefully and we‟ll all be cool.

DIESEL
I‟ll never be cool with Mohammed
or any one of his henchmen.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
That may be so, but we‟re giving
you a chance to live another day.

Now it‟s Diesel taking a moment to think about his options.

DIESEL
You tell Mohammed that if he hides
I will find him and if he runs I
will catch him.
(looks to Magnum)
Let‟s go.

Diesel slowly puts his gun back into his waistband and both
he and Magnum head back to the car.

The bodyguards stand their ground and watch Diesel back his
car out down the driveway.

The bodyguards walk back into the house.

INT . – MOHAMMED‟S HOUSE, FOYER

Mr. Mohammed is standing inside the house looking out the

door at Diesel‟s blue Lotus driving away.

MR. MOHAMMED
What was all the commotion out
there?

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Diesel showed up.

MR. MOHAMMED
(calmly)
Really?

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Yes, and he had a message for you.

MR. MOHAMMED
(smoothly)
I can‟t wait to hear this.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
He said he‟s going to eventually
find you if you run or hide from
him.

MR. MOHAMMED
Oh, I bet he will.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
What would you like me to do?

MR. MOHAMMED
Nothing.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
(perplexed)
Nothing, sir?

MR. MOHAMMED
Nothing. I have enough heat on me,
I don‟t need to fly off the handle
and do anything stupid That‟s when
people get in trouble, when they

him at the club or on the streets
of Miami, feel free to take him

Just don‟t be sloppy and don‟t do
anything that would link it back
to me.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
No problem sir, it‟ll be my pleasure
to dispose of Diesel.

Mr. Mohammed reaches over and closes the front door.

EXT. – THE DELANO HOTEL – DAY

Viper and Vixen pull up in their yellow Lamborghini in

front of the Delano Hotel.

VIPER
Go in and get a room, I‟ll park the
car. Call when everything is set;
I‟ll come up and meet you at the
room.

VIXEN
OK.

Vixen opens the door and takes a step out of the car before
Viper stops her.

VIPER
Hey, give me a kiss first.

Vixen reaches over to Viper and they kiss.

VIPER (cont‟d)
Be careful. The first sign of
trouble, get out of there and call
me.

VIXEN
I know what to do, I can take care
of myself.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 54

VIPER
I know you can babe, I just get
worried for you.

VIXEN
Well don‟t.

Vixen gets out of the car and closes the door behind her.
Viper peels out down the street.

INT. – DELANO HOTEL, PENTHOUSE SUITE

Viper opens the door and enters the opulent suite. Vixen
immediately runs over to him and jumps into his arms.

VIPER
The penthouse suite! Very nice.

VIXEN
Nothing but the best for us honey.

VIPER
I like your style.

VIXEN
There‟s Italian marble everywhere,
we have a huge tub in the bathroom.
There‟s also a private terrace that
overlooks the ocean.

VIPER
Excellent.

Vixen starts running her fingers through Viper‟s hair.

VIXEN
So, baby I was hoping maybe we could
take a walk along the beach? It‟s
an absolutely beautiful day out, the
sun is going down. I think it‟d be
cool to take a walk at sunset along
the coastline.

VIPER
Sure, anything for you babe. Let
me refresh myself then we can go
down to the beach.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 55

EXT. – DELANO HOTEL, BY THE POOL & CABANA AREA – SUNSET

Viper and Vixen walk out of the hotel and along the large
pool which is lined by numerous private, luxurious cabanas.

VIXEN
This place is so gorgeous. It‟s
like paradise.

VIPER
It is.

They look into one cabana where two beautiful young ladies
are hanging out with a middle-aged man.

One of the ladies is feeding him grapes while the other one
is gently massaging his back.

Bottles of Vodka, Patron, champagne and mixers litter the

cabana.

VIPER
It‟s amazing what money can buy
you. Truly amazing.

VIXEN
I know, lucky him.

VIPER
All in good time baby, all in good
time.

They approach a gate that leads to the public beach from

the hotel property and they walk through it to the beach.

EXT. – ALONG THE BEACH, SOUTH BEACH - SUNSET

Viper and Vixen are walking along the shoreline on the

water‟s edge. Although there are only a handful of people
on the beach, Viper is sporting sunglasses and a hat as he
tries to conceal his identity.

After several seconds of silence while they take in the

peacefulness of the beach, Vixen finally speaks up.

VIXEN
So you work for Al Qaeda?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 56

VIPER
No I don‟t, well indirectly I guess.
But I really wouldn‟t say I work for
them.

Vixen looks disappointed upon hearing Viper‟s answer.

VIPER (cont‟d)
Come on, you‟ve known who I am for
a long time, you know I‟m a damn
mercenary. What‟d you think, in
this line of work I‟d just be
working for saints? These are bad
people I deal with.

VIXEN
Yeah, but Al Qaeda? They are worse
than bad people.
(pause)
You know, my aunt died on 9/11. She
was on the American Airlines flight
that crashed into the Pentagon. She
was just minding her own business,
taking a flight from Washington to
Los Angeles to visit family members,
and then all of a sudden, boom, her
flight was highjacked and then a
short time later she was gone.
For no good reason she was dead.

VIPER
I‟m sorry that you lost a loved one,
but then again there are people losing
loved ones all around the world for
no good reason, so why should the
United States be any different? Why
should the people in this country
be immune to the fate that millions
of people face in all these third
world countries?

VIXEN
I don‟t know what that guy scribbled
on that piece of paper, I‟m guessing
he wants you to do something big.
I don‟t think you should do it, you
should tell him to go fuck himself.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 57

VIPER
I can‟t do that, he‟s our ticket out
of here, our ticket to a better life.
He‟s going to give us our freedom.
You do want to get out of here,
right? Spend your days on a beach,
sipping margaritas, in a country
with no extradition?

VIXEN
At what cost though? I don‟t know.
(pause)
What did that piece of paper say
anyways?

VIPER
I shouldn‟t tell you. It‟s none
of your concern.

VIXEN
Then it must be something big.

VIPER
Vixen, there are some things I
shouldn‟t tell you about my life,
hell you probably already know too
much; and this is one of them.

VIXEN
Yeah but I thought we were in this
together; so don‟t I have the right
to know everything?

Viper stops walking and looks directly at Vixen, then she

stops as well.

VIPER
If you don‟t want to be a part of
this, you can leave at any time.

VIXEN
(dramatic pause)
No, I‟m with you. It‟s not like I
have a lot of options here.

VIPER
Good.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 58

VIXEN
But don‟t expect me to agree with
everything you do.

VIPER
Fine, I can live with that.

Viper and Vixen continue to walk again.

VIXEN
So, what‟s next on the plan.

VIPER
We have $10,000 to our names, what
do you want to do?

VIXEN
Well, we don‟t technically have
$10,000 anymore. The suite at the
Delano is costing us $2,000 a night,
so we have about $6,000 left.

VIPER
OK, I think that calls for one serious
night out on the town tonight.

VIXEN
You think that‟ll be safe?

VIPER
Sure. It‟ll be nighttime; which
means it‟ll be dark; which means I‟ll
just blend in with every other guy
out.

VIXEN
OK, I‟m exhausted, why don‟t we go
back to the hotel for a nap. When we
get back I‟ll ask the concierge for
restaurant recommendations.

VIPER
Remember, nothing but the best for
you baby.

Viper kisses Vixen.

INT. – DELANO HOTEL, MASTER BEDROOM OF THE PENTHOUSE SUITE

It‟s nighttime and Viper is standing quietly by the window

of the master bedroom. He‟s looking out at the waves
crashing into the beach.

The moon is providing some light into the otherwise dark

bedroom.

Viper looks back to Vixen who is sleeping in bed with her

back to him; the blanket only comes up to her knees and she
is dressed in only a white wife beater and black panties.

Viper reaches into his back pocket, pulls out the note that
Mr. Mohammed gave him and reads it under the moonlight.

The note reads: “Pick up package tomorrow, call 555-1239

for details; Game 6, American Airlines Arena. $50 million
upon arrival.”

Viper studies the note then puts it back into his back
pocket.

Vixen wakes up and rolls over to look at Viper; she‟s still

bleary-eyed.

VIXEN
(smiles)
Hey baby.

VIPER
Hey honey.

Viper walks over to the bed and sits on the edge. He runs
his fingers through her hair.

VIPER (cont‟d)
Come on, get up; let‟s go to dinner.

Viper kisses her on her cheek. He stands up and walks back

over to the window as she stands up, puts on a bathrobe and
walks into the bathroom.

EXT. – WASHINGTON AVENUE, SOUTH BEACH – NIGHT

Diesel‟s blue Lotus pulls over in front of Club Rage, a

huge bustling nightclub, on Washington Avenue.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 60

Diesel and Magnum get out of the car and gather on the
sidewalk.

MAGNUM
I hope you have a better plan for
Rage than you did for Mohammed‟s
house?

DIESEL
I wish I could say I did, but I‟m
really just making this up as I go
along.

MAGNUM
(rolls his eyes)
Oh great.

DIESEL
Let‟s go.

Diesel and Magnum walk into the club, passing right by the
line of about a hundred trendy, young guys and ladies
waiting to get in.

INT. – CLUB RAGE, SOUTH BEACH

Diesel and Magnum enter a huge open space with packed club-
goers dancing and grinding to heavy house and hip-hop
music.

There are strobe lights and scantily clad women dancing in

cages suspended in air. Shot girls and hot waitresses are
walking throughout the crowd.

CLUB RAGE DJ (O.S.)

Party goers, please welcome to the
stage, Miami‟s own, Trick Daddy,
brought to you direct by your friends
at Club Rage.

TRICK DADDY, a famous Miami rapper, comes on the main

stage.

TRICK DADDY
Miami, what it is?!?! Give it up.

The crowd goes wild and Trick starts performing one of his
popular hits.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 61

Diesel and Magnum stand by the entrance taking everything

in.

MAGNUM
So what are you going to do if
you find Mohammed or Viper here?
Beat the shit out of them right
in the middle of the club?

DIESEL
Yeah I thought about it.
(pause)
Let‟s scout out the place.

Diesel and Magnum slowly walk through the packed dance

floor.

Diesel hits Magnum to get his attention and points into the
direction of the other side of the club.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Magnum, why don‟t you check out
that side? I‟m going to go over
to the stairway where the offices
are.

MAGNUM
OK.

Magnum walks away to the other side of the club while

Diesel continues to head over to the stairway that leads to
the offices.

As he gets close to the stairs, the husky CLUB MANAGER

quickly approaches Diesel with two huge BOUNCERS and stops
him from proceeding.

CLUB MANAGER
No, no, no, get the fuck out of
here Diesel. Fuck you.

Diesel winds up and punches him; the club manager falls to

the ground like a sack of potatoes.

The two bouncers immediately pounce on him, punching,

pushing, kneeing him in the process.

Seeing the commotion, Magnum comes flying in throwing fists

and elbows at both of the bouncers.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 62

All the pushing and punches begins to involve other patrons

of the club and soon a huge brawl ensues that envelops the
whole dance floor. Diesel and Magnum are right in the
middle of it.

Upon seeing the commotion, Trick Daddy drops the microphone

and nonchalantly walks off the stage.

TRICK DADDY
Yo man, fuck this shit. I‟m out.

One of the bouncers puts Magnum in a headlock.

MAGNUM
Nice going Diesel.

Diesel grabs a bottle off the tray of a waitress and

smashes it over another bouncer‟s head.

DIESEL
Hey man, I told you right up front
that I didn‟t have a plan.

MAGNUM
Well that‟s pretty obvious now.

Diesel gets punched in the neck by another bouncer then he

turns around and cracks the bouncer right in the face.

DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
At any point if you want to start
carrying your own weight, I‟d
appreciate it.

Magnum is grabbed from behind by a bouncer while another

one comes over to punch him but before he can swing Magnum
kicks him in the stomach and nails the bouncer behind him
with an elbow to his temple.

MAGNUM
I‟m trying my best but it‟s kind
of hard when you have six goons
all over your shit.

Magnum is cold cocked out of nowhere from the side and he

falls straight down. Diesel rushes over to him, picks him
up and they rush towards the club‟s exit before Magnum gets
hit again.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 63

As other fights are breaking out around the club, Diesel

and Magnum push people out of the way so they can get out.

EXT. – WASHINGTON AVENUE, OUTSIDE OF CLUB RAGE – NIGHT

Diesel and Magnum run out of the club followed by several

bouncers. Diesel stops, turns around and engages one of
them.

He punches the bouncer in the face then throws him in the

middle of the street where he is almost hit head on by a
car.

The car comes to a screeching halt in the middle of the

street as the bouncer falls down in front of the car then
rolls over to the median to take cover.

Diesel and Magnum rush over to Diesel‟s blue Lotus.

MAGNUM
Let‟s get the fuck out of here
before they kill us.

Magnum jumps into the passenger side while Diesel hops on

the front hood of his car and rushes over to the driver‟s
seat.

They both get in the car, Diesel peels out and speeds down
Washington Avenue.

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

MAGNUM
We‟re kinda batting 0 for 2 now,
aren‟t we?

DIESEL
Yeah but if we go 1 for 3, that‟s
Hall of Fame numbers in baseball.

MAGNUM
So what are we going to do now?

DIESEL
I have an idea.

MAGNUM
What‟s that?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 64

DIESEL
Viper loves strip clubs.

MAGNUM
Well who doesn‟t?

DIESEL
No, he LOVES strip clubs. More so
than any other guy I‟ve ever met.
He‟s a real degenerate that way.

MAGNUM
OK, but there are like a hundred
strip joints in the greater Miami
area, how do we know which one he
might be at?

DIESEL
I know his favorite place; that‟s
where we‟re going.

EXT. – MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY – NIGHT

Diesel‟s blue lotus speeds down the causeway.

INT. – PRIME ONE TWELVE RESTAURANT

Viper and Vixen are sitting in the dining room of a hip,

trendy steakhouse enjoying steaks and bottles of red wine.

Viper and Vixen are both dressed up really nice – Viper in

gray pants, a gray sports jackets and a white button down
shirt; Vixen in a short, tight black dress.

VIXEN
This steak is succulent, and the
wine is out of this world.

VIPER
I‟m glad you like everything.

VIXEN
It‟s perfect.

Vixen stands up and sits right on Viper‟s lap. Without

saying anything, she starts making out with Viper right at
the table.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 65

VIXEN (cont‟d)
I want you Viper! Let‟s go party.

VIPER
You want to?

VIXEN
Yeah, let‟s rock the city tonight.

VIPER
OK, I got a great place in mind,
you‟ll have fun.

Viper stands up as Vixen is still straddling him. Once

Viper is up she finally stands up on her own.

VIPER (cont‟d)
Pay the bill.

Vixen walks back to her seat, grabs her purse, takes out
some money and throws it down on the table.

VIXEN
Let‟s go honey.

VIPER
I love you babe.

VIXEN
I love you too.

Vixen kisses Viper, then Viper picks Vixen up and caries

her out of the restaurant.

EXT. – GOLD RUSH STRIP CLUB, PARKING LOT – NIGHT

The parking lot has a carnival-like atmosphere to it; a

line of tricked out cars are pulling into the parking lot
outside of the strip club, Gold Rush.

The cars are a mix of new luxury autos like Lexuses and
Range Rovers and old school rides like candy-colored 1964
Chevy Impalas.

A handful of street vendors have set up shop along the

perimeter of the parking lot selling everything from street
meat to t-shirts to sex toys.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 66

There are even a few aspiring rappers hanging out in the

parking lot selling their demo CDs from the trunk of their
cars.

Several large men are congregating in front of the entrance

to the building. Guys entering the club are being patted
down by security and checked with a wand.

Viper and Vixen pull up in their Lamborghini and they both

get out of the car. Viper is smoking a cigar, he grabs
Vixen‟s hand and they approach the entrance.

INT. – GOLD RUSH STRIP CLUB

The scene is that of a typical strip club; strippers are

dancing on stages, walking around showing attention to all
the male customers and giving lap dances throughout the
main area.

Viper and Vixen are sitting at a table close to the main

stage.

A stripper walks up on stage and begins to dance.

GOLD RUSH DJ (O.S.)

Gentleman and ladies, welcome to
the stage, Foxxy!

A scantily clad waitress approaches them with a tray of

drinks.

GOLD RUSH WAITRESS

Here you go guys, a gin and tonic
for the lady and a Jack on the
rocks for the gentleman.

VIXEN
Thanks. Keep the change.

Vixen gives the waitress money and she promptly stuffs it

into her bra.

Viper moves his chair closer to Vixen as they‟re both

transfixed on the gorgeous woman dancing on the stage.

VIPER
Vixen, reach into your purse and
grab me a thousand dollars or so.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 67

VIXEN
Why?

VIPER
Because I‟m going to make it rain
up in this bitch!

VIXEN
Seriously?

VIPER
Yeah, seriously!

VIXEN
Is that the smartest thing to do
with our limited resources?

VIPER
Who fucking cares? I‟m Viper
god damn it! I want to have
fun! If I want to make it rain
then damn it I‟m going to make
it rain!

Vixen is hesitant to give him money.

VIXEN
I don‟t know.

Viper grabs Vixen‟s wrist.

VIPER
It‟s my money, give it to me.

VIXEN
Fine.

Vixen reaches into her purse, takes money out and gives it
to Viper.

Viper throws up his hand and signals for a club manager,

who quickly approaches the table.

GOLD RUSH MANAGER

Yes sir?

Viper hands over the money to the manager.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 68

VIPER
I‟d like to exchange this for
small bills, very small bills.
Can you do that?

GOLD RUSH MANAGER

Certainly sir, I think we can
make that happen. I‟ll be right
back.

The club manager takes the money and walks away.

Viper sits back and continues to enjoy the show going on

all around him. He moves his head slowly to the beat of
the music.

GOLD RUSH DJ (O.S.)

Reminder, Wednesday‟s night is
ladies night, every week ladies
drink free until 11pm, then two-
for-one til closing. And every
day we feature Happy Hour til 8pm,
$5 beers and $8 cocktails, any
cocktails, til 8pm. Only at
Gold Rush, home of the finest
ladies in Dade County.

After awhile, the club manager returns to the table with a

very large stack of small bills.

GOLD RUSH MANAGER

Here you go sir.

Viper takes the money and puts it on the table, then he

tips him with a few bills.

VIPER
Thank you. There you go.

GOLD RUSH MANAGER

Thank you sir.

VIPER
Now leave us.

GOLD RUSH MANAGER

Very good sir.

The club manager leaves the table.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 69

Viper gets more into the stripper‟s dancing and the music.

VIPER
There you go honey, work it!

Vixen forcefully grabs Viper and makes out with him. After
they kiss, Viper turns his attention back to the stripper
dancing.

VIPER
Keep going girl!

In approval of her dancing, Viper starts throwing his small

bills into the air and they land on the stage all around
the stripper.

VIPER (cont‟d)
Keep doing what you‟re doing and
there‟ll be more of this coming
your way.

Viper continues throwing small bills up in the air in her

direction.

After a little while the song ends and the stripper looks
at Viper to get his approval.

VIPER (cont‟d)
Yeah honey, you were good, you
were damn good. That money‟s all
yours.

With his approval, the stripper takes her time to pick up

all the small bills that were thrown onto the stage.

VIXEN
(annoyed)
I hope that was worth it.

VIPER
(laughs)
Oh come on, it‟s only money.

VIXEN
Yeah, it‟s not like we have a lot
of it.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 70

VIPER
Please, we‟re only a few days away
from collecting a huge pay day.

VIXEN
How so?

VIPER
That little favor I‟m doing for Mr.
Mohammed? Don‟t worry, not only is
he setting us up with passage out
of the country, but once we land in
Europe he‟s transferring some serious
funds into a secret account for us
so that we can live comfortably.

VIXEN
How can you be so sure he‟s actually
going to do that?

VIPER
Don‟t worry, he‟ll do it. He‟ll
never dick me over, I have too
much info on him.

A hot stripper comes over to the table and starts stroking

Viper‟s back and running her fingers through his hair.

DESIREE
Hey sugar, what‟s your name?

VIPER
I‟m Phillip. And you are?

DESIREE
I‟m Desiree.
(looking at Vixen)
Oh Phil, is this your girlfriend?

VIPER
She most certainly is.

DESIREE
Mmmm, she‟s hot.

VIPER
Thank you, she is.

Desiree sits on Viper‟s lap and gets comfortable.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 71

DESIREE
(looking at Vixen)
Hey honey, you mind if I dance
for your handsome boyfriend over
here?

VIXEN
(looking at Viper)
No go ahead.

DESIREE
(looking at Viper)
So hot stuff? You want a dance?

VIPER
(smiles)
Well, how can I say no?

Desiree stands up and kicks Viper‟s chair to move it in

front of her.

She then slowly, and seductively, starts dancing for him

and takes her dress off. After a few moments, she jumps on
Diesel‟s chair and starts grinding up on him, rubbing
herself and rubbing her body all over his.

Vixen is watching this and although she was initially into

it, the more the stripper caresses Diesel and rubs her body
on his, the more she gets annoyed.

About half way through the dance, Vixen has finally had
enough. She stands up and pushes the stripper off of
Diesel and to the ground.

VIXEN
Move it sister! You don‟t know
how to give a good fucking lap
dance; that isn‟t how...

Vixen jumps on Diesel‟s chair and straddles him.

VIXEN (cont‟d)
This is how.

Vixen starts dancing seductively for Diesel. The club

manager, who saw Vixen push the stripper down, comes by and
tries to interrupt her.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 72

GOLD RUSH MANAGER

Hey.

Viper, who‟s entranced by Vixen‟s dancing, pushes the

manager away.

VIPER
Get away pal, everything‟s all good.

Vixen starts getting really into the dance; she pulls the
top of her dress down to her waist, revealing a sexy black,
lace bra. Then she starts rubbing her breasts on the
outside of her bra.

EXT. – GOLD RUSH STRIP CLUB – NIGHT

Diesel‟s blue Lotus pulls into the parking lot, both him
and Magnum exit the vehicle.

MAGNUM
Gold Rush? Viper‟s favorite place
is Gold Rush?

DIESEL
Oh yeah.

MAGNUM
I would‟ve never guessed.

DIESEL
Yeah, like I said, a real degenerate.

MAGNUM
Degenerate? What are you talking
about? Who knew he had this much
taste?

DIESEL
To each his own, I guess.

Diesel and Magnum walk to the front entrance where they are
greeted by a very large bouncer. The bouncer pats Diesel
down and quickly finds the gun on him.

He takes it off of him and examines it.

GOLD RUSH BOUNCER

Sorry pal, no guns allowed inside.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 73

DIESEL
Cool, I gotcha.
(looks at Magnum)
Yo, Magnum you mind throwing this
back into the glove compartment?

Diesel gives Magnum his gun.

MAGNUM
No problem.

Magnum takes the gun and heads back to the car.

GOLD RUSH BOUNCER

Thanks for not making a big deal
about that.

DIESEL
No problem.

GOLD RUSH BOUNCER

You‟d be surprised how many
jackasses make a big deal about
not being able to bring their heat
into the club. I mean it‟s common
sense.

DIESEL
I don‟t think I‟d be surprised
actually.

GOLD RUSH BOUNCER

Well go on in and have fun tonight,
enjoy the ladies. I‟ll let your
boy in too when he comes back.

Diesel walks into the club.

INT. – GOLD RUSH STRIP CLUB

FRONT ENTRANCE

Diesel walks into the club and immediately surveys the

scene.

VIPER‟S TABLE

Vixen is still grinding up on Viper and he‟s enjoying every

moment of it.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 74

Vixen leans over and whispers into his ear.

VIXEN
You like that?

VIPER
Yeah, I do.

VIXEN
I‟m so fucking wet.

Vixen then sits up straight and starts friction dancing on

him. At one point she rubs his head and puts his face
between her breasts as she rides him on the chair.

The lap dance is getting hotter by the moment. As she

dances, Viper moves the bottom of her dress up to her
waist, revealing her black, lace panties.

OTHER SIDE OF THE MAIN ROOM

Diesel is slowly walking through the main room, like a lion

stalking his prey.

He finally notices Viper off in the distance towards the

front stage. He does a double take to make sure it‟s him.

Once he confirms Viper‟s identity in his head, he goes in a

straight line towards him.

VIPER‟S TABLE

Diesel stands behind Viper‟s chair for a moment watching

Vixen‟s continued lap dance.

Finally, Diesel pats Viper firmly on the shoulder.

DIESEL
What‟s up asshole?!?

Instinctively, Viper pushes Vixen off of him and she falls

to the floor.

Viper stands up, turns around and punches Diesel right in

the face even before he fully knows what‟s going on.

After he punches him, Viper realizes it was Diesel behind

him.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 75

VIPER
Diesel! I should‟ve known you‟d
crawl out from under your rock.

Diesel winds up and punches Viper but he ducks and misses

him. Viper pushes the chair into Diesel then runs away.

MAIN ROOM OF CLUB

As he‟s running through the club, Viper pushes patrons and

strippers out of the way. One of the strippers is giving a
lap dance to a guy and she gets pushed down right on top of
him.

Strippers and patrons both start yelling, screaming,

pushing and running away all around the club.

Magnum finally gets into the club; seeing all the commotion
he rushes over to Diesel.

MAGNUM
What‟s up Diesel?

DIESEL
Viper‟s here!

MAGNUM
Oh shit!

A bouncer approaches Viper to stop him, but Viper punches

him in the face, then the stomach, then the face again.

As the bouncer tries to regain his composure, Viper reaches

inside the bouncer‟s jacket and grabs his gun.

He points the gun towards Diesel, who is running towards

him from the other side of main room, and pulls the
trigger.

Upon seeing Viper pull the trigger, Diesel immediately hits

the floor to get out of the way.

At the same time Vixen, who is in the middle of the room

and about ten feet directly behind Diesel, stands up from
the floor.

Unfortunately once Diesel ducks, Vixen is now in direct

line of fire and gets hit in the chest with the bullet.
She falls straight down like a sack of potatoes.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 76

Viper shoots and kills the bouncer and then notices that he
accidentally shot Vixen. After that he puts the gun in his
waistband and runs out of the room.

Diesel sees Vixen get shot and rushes up to her aid. He

kneels down next to her.

Vixen‟s dress is still pulled down to her waist with her

bra exposed. She has a bullet hole in her chest that is
slowly bleeding out.

Magnum rushes up to Diesel and puts his hand on Diesel‟s

back for support, but Diesel quickly shoos him away.

MAGNUM
Diesel!

DIESEL
Go! Go get the car! Drive up
to the front. We‟re going to
get the bastard tonight!

MAGNUM
OK, be careful.

DIESEL
You too buddy.

Magnum takes a look at Vixen then runs out of the room.

Viper checks Vixen‟s pulse. She‟s breathing heavily and

it‟s obvious that the life is being sucked out of her.

DIESEL
Jesus Christ! If I didn‟t duck
you wouldn‟t have gotten hit.
I‟m sorry.

She opens her eyes and looks at Diesel.

VIXEN
(weakly)
I‟m sorry. I‟m so sorry for
everything that Viper and I did.

Vixen turns her face to the side as Diesel consoles her by

running his fingers through her hair. She takes her last
breath and dies with her eyes open.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 77

Diesel closes Vixen‟s eyelids, pulls up her dress to cover

her body and moves her arms across her chest.

DIESEL
(whispers to himself)
Another senseless death.

Diesel stands up and runs out of the room.

EXT. – GOLD RUSH STRIP CLUB, FRONT ENTRANCE - NIGHT

Magnum is sitting in the blue Lotus, revving the engine by

the entrance.

Patrons and strippers, half-naked or still dressed in their

outfits, are still streaming out of the club and running
away in all different directions.

Diesel comes out in the crowd and looks around for a moment
until he finds his car. He sees it, runs to the driver‟s
seat and opens the door.

DIESEL
Get out Magnum!

MAGNUM
I‟ll drive.

Diesel grabs Magnum and gets him out of the car.

DIESEL
There‟s a good chance we‟re going
to seriously fuck up this car
tonight; and if we‟re going to ruin
my baby Lotus, then I want it to
be my fault. I don‟t know if I
could ever forgive you if you did
it.

Magnum runs over to the passenger‟s seat as Diesel gets

into the driver‟s seat.

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

DIESEL
Please tell me you saw where Viper
went?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 78

MAGNUM
Yeah, he just peeled out of the
parking lot like 30 seconds ago.
(points to a road in
the distance off of
the parking lot)
He went that way in a yellow
Lamborghini.

Diesel puts his seatbelt on.

DIESEL
Strap yourself in Magnum, we‟re
going to push this baby to the
limit.

Magnum heeds his advice and puts his seatbelt on.

Diesel plays around with his car stereo and pops in a CD.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
This calls for some mood music.

EXT. – GOLD RUSH STRIP CLUB, PARKING LOT - NIGHT

Diesel peels out and speeds out of the parking lot; dodging
patrons in the process.

EXT. – STREETS OF MIAMI – NIGHT

Diesel‟s blue Lotus speeds through the relatively quiet,

desolate streets of Miami in the late night hours.

As he pulls up to a red light, he sees Viper‟s yellow

Lamborghini making a turn onto another street in the
distance.

Both cars have neon lights underneath their frames

(Diesel‟s Lotus has blue neon, Viper‟s has yellow neon)
which make them stand out and glow in the dark.

Diesel punches it into gear and speeds through the red

light, towards the Lamborghini.

DIESEL
There he is, that cocksucker!

Diesel speeds along several downtown streets in an attempt

to catch up to Viper.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 79

Viper takes several sharp turns onto other streets to try

to shake him, he also tries a few misdirection moves –
pretending to go right but goes left instead, etc – but
Diesel continues to stay about 20 feet or so behind him.

From a side street, Viper turns onto

U.S. 1

They both weave around cars for two blocks before Viper
takes a sharp turn onto

GRAND AVENUE, COCONUT GROVE

The streets, with housing projects lining each side, are

eerily quiet at this late hour with only a handful of young
males aimlessly walking on the sidewalks or riding their
bikes to nowhere in particular.

This quietness is broken by Viper speeding by quickly

followed by Diesel.

They drive by Cocowalk in the middle of Coconut Grove.

Viper takes another sharp turn onto

SOUTH BAYSHORE DRIVE

However, since this turn is very sharp and requires Viper

to almost come to a complete stop before turning, Diesel is
able to catch up to him.

Diesel bumps Viper‟s car just as he begins to make his

turn. The bump is forceful enough to spin out Viper‟s car.

Now Viper‟s car is turned around, facing Diesel‟s car.

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

Without missing a beat, Viper immediately throws the car

into reverse and begins speeding down South Bayshore Drive
in reverse.

EXT. – SOUTH BAYSHORE DRIVE - NIGHT

Diesel is speeding down the street, hood to hood with

Viper; he is literally only a few inches away from touching
the Lamborghini.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 80

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

With the cars facing each other, Diesel can look right into
Viper‟s eyes. He stares him down for a good five seconds.

MAGNUM
This is fucking unreal!

DIESEL
He‟s good…

Diesel upshifts to a higher gear and revs the engine.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
…But I‟m better.

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

VIPER
So, you want to play like this
huh, jerkoff?

Viper steps on the accelerator to the floor, then he cuts

the wheel and spins out directly onto a side street.

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

As Viper speeds down the side street, Diesel hits the

brakes, not expecting Viper to cut the wheel like that.

MAGNUM
Damn! We lost him!

DIESEL
We didn‟t lose him yet.

EXT. – STREETS OF MIAMI - NIGHT

SOUTH BAYSHORE DRIVE

It takes a good one to two blocks for Diesel to slow down

enough so that he can safely turn around on the road.

He turns around and goes up the same side street that Viper
went up, but by this point Viper is comfortably in front of
him.

BRICKELL AVENUE
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 81

Viper is quietly driving down the palm tree-lined avenue

that‟s surrounded by large, glass-encased office buildings.

The streets are completely silent, there is not another car

in sight.

INT. – VIPER‟S LAMBORGHINI

Viper looks into his rear view mirror and all of a sudden,
in his mirror, he sees Diesel‟s blue Lotus in the distance
speed onto Brickell Avenue from a side street.

VIPER
Fucking guy!

Diesel turns sharply onto the avenue, almost losing control

in the process, and quickly catches up to Viper, who has
now kicked it into a higher gear upon seeing Diesel again.

After just a few seconds on the same street, Diesel is

finally able to pull up next to Viper‟s car.

Although they are both driving at an insane speed, Viper

rolls down his window and looks at Diesel.

VIPER
Hey Diesel, fuck you!

Viper then pulls out his gun and fires two gunshots in the
direction of Diesel‟s car.

EXT. – STREETS OF MIAMI – NIGHT

BRICKELL AVENUE

To escape, Diesel veers his car onto the sidewalk; hitting

parking meters, newsstands, light poles and anything else
in the way.

This allows Viper to get a thirty foot or so cushion

between himself and Diesel.

MAGNUM
Jesus, he almost killed us.

DIESEL
Yeah, I guess I should‟ve remembered
he had that gun. Oops.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 82

MAGNUM
Some times you can be such an
asshole.

DIESEL
Only some times? Gee Magnum, I
didn‟t know you thought so highly
of me.

MAGNUM
I don‟t.
(points at Viper‟s car)
Diesel, don‟t lose Viper; there
he is.

DIESEL
I see him, I see him.

Viper takes a sharp turn off of Brickell Avenue onto

CALLE OCHO (S.W. 8th St)

Viper and Diesel drive down the cultural and historic

center of Little Havana; passing small markets, cafes and
old shops in the process.

After a while, Diesel takes a couple other quick turns and

ends up on

FLAGLER STREET

They speed down yet another multi-lane street with very

little traffic on it.

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

DIESEL
(thinking)
OK, Flagler Street…business district,
no pedestrians, very few cars on
the road.
(pause)
Magnum, get my gun out. See if you
can get a few shots off.

Magnum reaches into the glove compartment, takes out

Diesel‟s gun, and rolls down the window.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 83

Diesel stops Magnum as he‟s about to lean out of the

window.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Hold it. Play it on the safe side;
just go for the tires. That way
if you miss, you‟ll only hit the
pavement and that‟s it.

MAGNUM
You think I‟ll miss? Come on, have
more faith than that.

DIESEL
I‟m not saying I think you‟ll miss
I‟m just saying that I already have
that chick‟s death from the strip
club on my conscious already. I
think one death is enough for one
day.

Magnum leans out of the window and takes a shot at the back
right tire of Viper but he misses.

MAGNUM
Fuck, I missed!

Magnum leans back into the car, at which point Diesel

pushes him back out the window.

DIESEL
Well don‟t give up! Quitters never
win.

Magnum leans back out of the window, concentrates and takes

another shot at the back right tire. He misses again.

MAGNUM
(frustrated)
Fuck!

Magnum lines up his shot and concentrates again, he pulls

the trigger but nothing happens. He pulls the trigger
again and again nothing happens.

MAGNUM
Son of a bitch!

Magnum sits back down in the car.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 84

MAGNUM
I‟m out of ammo.

DIESEL
Check the glove compartment, there
might be another clip.

Magnum looks through the glove compartment, throwing papers

around and uncovering every inch in search of a clip.

MAGNUM
Nothing.

DIESEL
Damn. OK, looks like we‟ll have to
settle this the old fashioned way…
with our fists.

MAGNUM
And your ridiculously suped up one-
hundred thousand dollar Lotus,
don‟t forget about that too.

DIESEL
Well yeah, that too.

Viper and Diesel take another quick turn onto

EXT. – STREETS OF MIAMI – NIGHT

BISCAYNE BOULEVARD

Viper and Diesel both speed past the high rises that line
Biscayne Boulevard, MacArthur Causeway is in the
background.

In the matter of seconds, both cars turn onto the

MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY

Diesel is right behind Viper but no matter how fast he goes

he can‟t manage to pull alongside Viper. Viper is doing a
great job of cutting him off any time he sees an opening.

Viper and Diesel drive right by a huge cruise ship that‟s

leaving the Port of Miami, a stone‟s throw away from the
causeway.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 85

The two speed towards the South Beach exit and quickly find
themselves on

EXT. – SOUTH BEACH – NIGHT

OCEAN DRIVE

Where they finally hit traffic. Viper is a few cars ahead

of Diesel in traffic.

DIESEL
I‟m going to get out right here
and just kick his ass in the middle
of Ocean Drive.

Just as Diesel unbuckles his seat belt, Viper drives out of

the traffic and heads

ON THE BEACH

Viper drives right onto the actual beach and peels out in
the sand.

MAGNUM
(shocked)
You got to be fucking kidding me!?!

DIESEL
Buckle up again, looks like we‟re
going to the beach.

Diesel drives off the road and enters the beach as well to
follow Viper.

Viper and Diesel drive wildly across the beach, both having
some problems navigating through the terrain. In the
process they‟re ripping up the beach.

MAGNUM
Well if this finally doesn‟t get
the attention of the cops, I don‟t
know what will.

Viper drives to the edge of the water with Diesel following

close behind. They have the light from a full moon shining
down to guide them.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 86

After about a mile or so, Viper takes a hard turn away from
the water, jumps over a dune and lands back onto a street
with Diesel following not too far behind.

They are now driving on

COLLINS AVENUE

And as Magnum predicted, there are several police cars

driving behind them in the distance with their sirens
blaring.

Diesel sees this from his rear view mirror.

DIESEL
Well, you‟re right, we have company.

Magnum looks behind him and sees the cops gaining on them.

MAGNUM
Ohhh shit! Diesel, I‟m way too
pretty to go to jail.

DIESEL
Relax, you‟re not going to jail.
They‟re not going to catch us.

MAGNUM
Why don‟t we just stop right now
and tell the cops that that‟s
Viper?

DIESEL
What did I tell you? The only
thing I asked of you is that I
get first crack at him.
(pause)
Besides, if we haven‟t been able
to catch Viper yet I don‟t have
high hopes that the cops can catch
him either.
(pause)
No, we‟re going to do it; we‟re
going to catch him ourselves.

Both Viper and Diesel drive by the huge, luxurious resort

hotels that border Collins Avenue.

Viper makes another turn onto

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 87

LINCOLN ROAD

Viper drives right down the middle of this pedestrian mall,

forcing Diesel to follow him.

Viper‟s Lamborghini knocks café tables and chairs out of

the way or simply drives right over them.

He‟s also forced to drive around planted palm trees and

dodge other things like trash cans and light poles.

Several police cars also proceed, albeit more cautiously

than either Viper or Diesel.

At every side street that breaks up the pedestrian mall, a

police car pulls up attempting to block Viper and Diesel
but each time they are both able to get past the cops.

At the end of the pedestrian mall, Viper turns onto

ALTON ROAD

Viper cruises down the street for a while with Diesel and
several police cars still in tow.

Downtown Miami‟s skyline eventually appears in the

distance; Viper is heading back into the city.

EXT. – MIAMI RIVER – NIGHT

A tugboat is inching its way down the Miami River.

EXT. – STREET, DOWNTOWN MIAMI – NIGHT

Viper is speeding down the road heading towards the

MIAMI RIVER DRAWBRIDGE

The Miami River Drawbridge is slowly going up as the

tugboat down below is approaching to go under it.

Viper stops at the red light on the road leading to the

drawbridge.

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

Viper sits idle and stares ahead at the drawbridge going up

as he thinks about his next move. Diesel and the police
have caught up to him and are sitting behind him.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 88

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

MAGNUM
What do you think he‟s going to do?

DIESEL
(shakes head)
I don‟t know, but all bets are off.

MAGNUM
Well, he better figure out something
soon; the cops are here.

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

Viper looks in his rear view mirror and sees the cops
beginning to slowly get out of their cars and approach
Viper and Diesel‟s cars.

As he sees this, Viper kicks it into gear, peels out and

speeds towards the drawbridge.

With the drawbridge almost fully up and the tugboat passing

underneath right below, Viper jumps the drawbridge, gets
about twenty feet of air and successfully lands on the
other side of the bridge.

EXT. – MIAMI RIVER DRAWBRIDGE – NIGHT

Viper drives off of the bridge and into the night.

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

Both Diesel and Magnum watch Viper jump the drawbridge,

Magnum is in much more awe of Viper‟s accomplishment than
Diesel is.

DIESEL
Well Magnum, we‟re all gonna die
of something; it might as well be
for something as noble as catching
a bad guy.

MAGNUM
Amen.
(pause)
Lord, please be on our side in this
current endeavor.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 89

Diesel kicks it into gear, peels out and speeds towards to

the drawbridge just as Viper had done.

The drawbridge is fully up and the tugboat is still passing

below. Diesel jumps the drawbridge, gets about twenty feet
of air and barely lands on the other side of the bridge.

EXT. – MIAMI RIVER DRAWBRIDGE – NIGHT

Although Diesel lands on the other side of the bridge, his

landing wasn‟t as successful as Viper‟s.

Once the Lotus lands, it veers immediately to the left and

crashes into the railing.

The car then veers to the right and crashes into the other
railing. Diesel‟s car slides down the rest of the bridge
and comes to a screeching halt at the base.

The cops on the other side of the drawbridge watch both

Viper and Diesel make it over the bridge in disbelief.

They are left literally scratching their heads. None of

them even attempt to jump the drawbridge and follow.

Diesel and Magnum both jump out of the car; Diesel

immediately surveys the damage to his car.

DIESEL
God damn, fucking shit!

Both sides of the car are all banged up and damaged across
the length of the body. The front is dented in severely.

MAGNUM
Shit man, your car is all fucked
up.

Diesel kicks his tire in frustration.

DIESEL
God damn it, I liked my Lotus.

MAGNUM
You think it‟s still drivable?

Diesel looks back at the cops on the other side of the

drawbridge.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 90

DIESEL
I don‟t know, let‟s see. We‟ll
have to get out of here somehow
before that drawbridge comes back
down and the cops come.

Diesel and Magnum get back into the car. Diesel starts the
engine and he begins to drive his banged up car slowly down
a dirt road that parallels the river.

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

MAGNUM
What are we going to do now?

Diesel is visibly struggling to control the car.

DIESEL
I don‟t know, but I don‟t think
my baby‟s going to make it.

MAGNUM
So what are we going to do?

Diesel looks around and notices that they have driven far
enough away that the cops are no longer in sight.

DIESEL
Well, we‟re away from the cops now.

Diesel pulls over to the side of a dirt road and parks.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
We‟re going to have to ditch the
car.
(pause)
No other option.

EXT. – DIRT ROAD BY THE MIAMI RIVER – NIGHT

Diesel and Magnum get out of the car again. Diesel stares
at his car contemplating his next move.

MAGNUM
So what are we going to do? We
can‟t just leave the car here,
the cops will find it, which means
they‟ll find you.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 91

DIESEL
That‟s right.

MAGNUM
So what are we going to do?

DIESEL
It‟ll be just a matter of time for
the cops to identify us, well at
least me, so we‟ll need to buy some
time.

MAGNUM
How are we going to do that?

Diesel looks at the river, then looks at the car, then back
at the river.

DIESEL
We‟re going to drown my baby.

MAGNUM
(shocked)
What?

DIESEL
It‟s our best option. We sink the
Lotus and it‟ll take the cops a few
days to find it and get it up. By
then hopefully we‟ll have caught
Viper, and at that point the cops
won‟t care about us anymore.

MAGNUM
Are you sure you want to do this?

DIESEL
No, but like I said, it‟s our best
option.

MAGNUM
Ohhkkaayy, it‟s you car.

DIESEL
I‟m doing it. Stay here.

Diesel gets into his car, drives about 30 yards or so into

reverse down the road.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 92

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLUE LOTUS

DIESEL
Good bye, my friend. It was nice
riding with you.

Diesel punches it into gear and speeds down the road. As

he picks up speed he gradually veers off the road towards
the river.

At the last moment, Diesel opens his door and jumps out as
the car drives right into the river.

EXT. – DIRT ROAD BY THE MIAMI RIVER – NIGHT

Diesel rolls across the dirt road and comes to a stop right
in front of Magnum.

The Lotus makes it about 10-20 feet into the river and
begins to sink slowly.

Magnum grabs Diesel‟s arm and helps him stand up. Diesel
pats himself down to get the dirt off of him.

MAGNUM
Well that was pretty crazy.

DIESEL
Thank you.

MAGNUM
OK, so let me ask for a fifth time,
what are we going to do now?

DIESEL
I don‟t know, remember I‟m making
this up as we go along.
(pause)
One thing‟s for sure. We‟re going
to use your Ferrari tomorrow.

MAGNUM
(sarcastically)
Ohhh, great.

Diesel grabs Magnum‟s arm and begins to walk down the dirt
road.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 93

DIESEL
Come on, let‟s walk.

MAGNUM
It‟s a hike back to the Beach though.

DIESEL
We can both use the exercise.

MAGNUM
Fine.

DIESEL
I think we‟ve caused enough damage
for today. Let‟s meet tomorrow
morning at the 9th Street Diner;
eight o‟clock sharp. We‟ll devise
a new game plan then.

MAGNUM
Sounds good.
(pause)
We‟ll get him Diesel, we‟ll get him.

DIESEL
I know.

Diesel and Magnum continue walking down the dark, desolate

dirt road that borders the Miami River.

EXT. – RICKENBACKER CAUSEWAY, KEY BISCAYNE – SUNRISE

Viper‟s yellow Lamborghini cruises down the empty causeway

at sunrise.

He pulls off to the side of the road and up to a pay phone.

The skyline of downtown Miami is in the distance.

Viper gets out of his car and walks up to the pay phone.
He takes the piece of paper that Mohammed gave him out of
his back pocket.

He dials the number on the paper and a gravelly voice picks

up on the other end.

MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah, this is Mr. X.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 94

VIPER
Mr. X? Huh, cute; very original.

MR. X (O.S.)
And who the fuck is this?

VIPER
I‟m the guy willing to help you
out so cut the questions. Your
boss Mr. Mohammed said you have
a package for me.

MR. X (O.S.)
Ahh yes, yes I do.

VIPER
OK, so how do I take possession of
this?

MR. X (O.S.)
Meet me at…

VIPER
(interrupts)
I‟m not meeting you, or any of your
henchmen, anywhere. I just spent
the last hour of my life getting
chased by cops all over this damn
city. How do I know this isn‟t a
set-up?

MR. X (O.S.)
Because this was organized by Mr.
Mohammed personally. Surely you
can trust Mr. Mohammed after all
the things you‟ve been through
with him.

VIPER
At this point, I trust no one.

MR. X (O.S.)
OK then, how do you want to do
it.

VIPER
You‟re in Miami, right?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 95

MR. X (O.S.)
Yes, I‟m downtown.

VIPER
OK, I‟ll call this number again
in five hours with a location to
meet me. You‟ll have 15 minutes
to get there. You got that?

MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.

VIPER
Good.

Viper hangs up the phone, gets back in his car and drives
away.

EXT. – BEACH, SOUTH BEACH – MORNING

Diesel is walking alone on the beach wearing sunglasses.

It‟s early in the morning and the beach is quiet with only
a handful of people on it.

After a while he comes across a little child building a

sand castle.

He kneels down to help the child with the sand castle by

shaping the sand and adding more blocks of sand to it.

Diesel looks at the child with admiration; in him he sees

what he could‟ve had with his old girlfriend before she was
killed.

After a bit, Diesel stands up and walks to the water‟s

edge. He looks out over the water and, in his mind,
flashes back to the day his girlfriend was killed.

FLASHBACK

EXT. – FEDERAL COURTHOUSE, FT. LAUDERDALE – DAY

Diesel pulls up to the front of the courthouse in a black

Porsche.

INT. – DIESEL‟S BLACK PORSCHE

Diesel puts the car in park then reaches into the glove
compartment and takes out a Tiffany blue box.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 96

He opens the box and looks at the engagement ring sitting

inside it.

He closes the box again and puts it in his jacket pocket.

EXT. – FEDERAL COURTHOUSE, FT. LAUDERDALE – DAY

Diesel steps out of his car and leans up against it on the

sidewalk. He pulls out his cell phone to make a call.

SARAH (O.S.)
Hey baby.

DIESEL
Hey Sarah.

SARAH (O.S.)
How are you doing?

DIESEL
I‟m good, how are you feeling today?

SARAH (O.S.)
I feel great!

DIESEL
And how‟s our little guy doing?

SARAH (O.S.)
He‟s good too.

DIESEL
So, I‟m here outside so whenever
you‟re ready.

SARAH (O.S.)
OK, great. I‟m finishing off one
last thing, then I‟ll be out in
a couple of minutes.

DIESEL
Good, I‟ll see you soon.

SARAH (O.S.)
I love you.

DIESEL
Love you too.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 97

Diesel hangs up the phone. To pass time, he takes out a

cigarette and smokes casually by his car.

Diesel dials up another number on his phone.

GRILL ROOM MAITRE DE (O.S.)

Good afternoon, The Grill Room.

DIESEL
Yes, I‟d like to confirm a
reservation for two tonight at
8p under Mr. Diesel.

GRILL ROOM MAITRE DE (O.S.)

Yes Mr. Diesel we do have you down
for two at 8p.

DIESEL
Excellent, tonight will be a
very special night for us and I
want to make sure my girlfriend
is taken care of. I‟d like the
sommelier to pick out a couple
of very special, celebratory
bottles of wines for us.

GRILL ROOM MAITRE DE (O.S.)

Yes, no problem sir, we will make
sure that you and your girlfriend
will have a very special evening
tonight.

DIESEL
Thanks.

Diesel hangs up and finishes the rest of his cigarette.

After several seconds, Sarah comes out of the courthouse

building. Sarah is a tall, stunning blonde in her late-
twenties.

Upon seeing Diesel in the distance by his car, she gives

him a big wave as a huge smile covers her face.

Diesel smiles sheepishly at Sarah and waves back.

As Sarah takes her first step onto the staircase that leads
to the street below, a huge explosion goes off inside the
building.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 98

The building is obliterated and the force of the explosion

propels Sarah high into the air.

The force of the explosion also throws Diesel over the

front hood of his car and he lands in the street.

Sarah lands on the front hood of a car sitting along the

side of the street.

The top half of her body goes right through its‟

windshield. Her back is covered in shrapnel from the
explosion.

Diesel stands up and is initially disoriented. Once he

gets his senses back, he sees his girlfriend, Sarah,
implanted in a windshield.

He yells out in horror and immediately runs over to her.

DIESEL
No, no, no. No, baby hold on.

Before touching her, Diesel carefully surveys the scene and

tries to figure out if he can move her without creating
more damage.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Jesus Christ!

People are running around hysterically in all directions.

Finally Diesel gently moves her out of the windshield and

down on the front hood.

Sarah is pretty bloody as her face, neck and chest have

been cut up from the windshield.

He turns her body around so that she is facing up. She is

completely motionless and her body is lifeless.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Hang in there!

Diesel frantically checks her pulse, but she is dead.

Diesel refuses to believe this initially.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Don‟t die on me Sarah! Come on,
don‟t die on me!
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 99

Finally Diesel accepts her death and falls to the ground.

He‟s a mess as he sits on the ground, with his back against

the car, and begins to sob uncontrollably.

He covers his face with his hands and continues crying.

FLASHBACK ENDS

EXT. – BEACH, SOUTH BEACH – MORNING

Diesel is still looking out over the water at the beach. A

single tear falls from underneath his sunglasses.

Diesel turns away from the water and continues to walk

along the beach.

INT. – 9TH STREET DINER

Magnum is sitting at a table in the diner enjoying his

breakfast of French toast and grits.

Diesel walks into the diner and joins Magnum at the table.

They shake each other‟s hand.

MAGNUM
Diesel, what‟s up playa?

DIESEL
Hangin‟ in there.

A waitress approaches the table as soon as Diesel sits

down. Diesel waves away the menu and is ready to order.

DIESEL
I‟ll take some scrambled eggs and
a V-8 juice please.

The waitress takes his order and walks away.

MAGNUM
How‟d you sleep?

DIESEL
Not good. You?

MAGNUM
Yeah, same here.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 100

DIESEL
I think I slept for an hour then
I headed out for a calming walk
along the beach.

MAGNUM
Yeah, I got home then just popped
Bad Boys II into the DVD.

DIESEL
Get any good ideas for today from
that?

MAGNUM
(laughs)
No, not really.

DIESEL
Damn.

MAGNUM
So, a different day but the same
question remains. What are we
going to do?

DIESEL
I think the key is Mr. Mohammed.
We get to him, we get to Viper.

MAGNUM
Great, how do we get to Mohammed
though?

DIESEL
We go back to his house.

MAGNUM
Really? You remember that didn‟t
work out the first time. I hope
you remember that because it was
only yesterday that happened.

DIESEL
I know. But we‟ll have a different
plan this time around.

MAGNUM
What‟s that going to be.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 101

DIESEL
We‟re not going to take no for
an answer.

MAGNUM
OK, but how are we going to get
by his legions of bodyguards?

DIESEL
Well, attacking by land didn‟t
work…

MAGNUM
(interrupts)
It definitely didn‟t.

The waitress drops off Diesel‟s breakfast of scrambled eggs

and V-8 juice at the table. Diesel takes a quick bite then
continues with his thought.

DIESEL
(continues)
…So this time, we‟re going to attack
from the sea.

Magnum looks perplexed over Diesel‟s plan.

EXT. – BISCAYNE BAY – DAY

Diesel and Magnum are cruising down Biscayne Bay in a

speedboat. Diesel is steering the boat, and smoking a
cigar, with Magnum standing next to him.

MAGNUM
This idea might be crazy enough to
work.

DIESEL
I hope it does because I‟m running
out of ideas.
(pause)
Check out the guns and make sure
they‟re fully loaded.

MAGNUM
No problem.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 102

Magnum leans over and opens a bag that is sitting by them.

He checks each of the six guns in there to make sure
they‟re fully loaded.

Then he passes three guns to Diesel and keeps three for

himself. Both men strap themselves with the guns.

The speedboat continues cruising down the Bay, Magnum

points to Star Island out in the distance.

MAGNUM
There it is, there is Star Island.

DIESEL
I see it.

Diesel turns the boat to head directly over to Star Island.

Diesel puts the speedboat in full throttle as he aims at

one specific property on Star Island.

The island, and the property, quickly go from the

background to the foreground in the matter of seconds.

EXT. – MR. MOHAMMED‟S HOUSE, BACKYARD – DAY

The speedboat runs right up on Mohammed‟s backyard, finally

coming to a stop about 30 feet into the property.

Diesel and Magnum both immediately jump out of the boat

with guns drawn and run past the huge pool and towards the
house.

Within seconds they reach the patio and run into

INT. – MOHAMMED‟S HOUSE

LIVING ROOM

The two enter the house and proceed carefully through the
room.

A bodyguard runs into the room and is quickly knocked out

with a punch in the face by Diesel.

They make their way into

A HALLWAY
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 103

Another bodyguard runs into the hallway and is hit in the

head with Magnum‟s gun and knocked unconscious.

DIESEL
You hold down the fort here. I‟m
going upstairs. I have a feeling
I know where he is.

MAGNUM
OK, hurry up though, who knows what
kind of security detail Mohammed
has here.

Diesel runs up to a staircase at the end of the hallway.

MOHAMMED‟S OFFICE

Mohammed is sitting behind a dark, mahogany desk in his

office calmly reading through the paperwork he‟s holding in
his hands.

All of a sudden, Diesel kicks open the door and runs in.

Mohammed casually puts his paperwork down on his desk.

MR. MOHAMMED
(surprised)
Diesel, you never give up, do you?

DIESEL
With scum like you roaming the
streets? Absolutely not.
(pause)
Get up.

Mohammed gets up and holds his hands out to his side, he

walks slowly towards Diesel.

MR. MOHAMMED
OK, ok.

Diesel grabs Mohammed and pushes him towards the door. He

sticks his gun in Mohammed‟s back as he leads him out of
the room.

FIRST FLOOR HALLWAY

Magnum is standing in the hallway with his back against the

wall.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 104

Both of his arms are fully extended with a gun in each

hand; he‟s ready to shoot any that comes from either
direction.

Diesel comes down the stairs with Mohammed in front of him;

they walk into the hallway towards Magnum.

DIESEL
Let‟s get the hell out of here.

Diesel walks past Magnum with Mohammed so that Magnum can

protect his back side. They walk into the

LIVING ROOM

Just as the three make it halfway through the living room,

Mohammed‟s top bodyguard enters and pulls out his gun.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
(yells)
Freeze right there assholes!

Magnum points his gun at the bodyguard, while Diesel turns

Mohammed and himself around so they‟re facing him as well.

Diesel puts Mohammed in a firm chokehold from behind to

shield himself from the bodyguard.

DIESEL
I‟ll blow his motherfucking head
off right now if you do anything
stupid.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Yeah? And I‟ll…

With no warning, Diesel shoots the bodyguard in the leg and

he immediately falls to the floor in writhing pain.

DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
I didn‟t feel like going through
the same bullshit again with this
prick. Once was enough.

MAGNUM
(shocked)
You shot him!
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 105

DIESEL
In the leg; he‟ll be alright.

Mohammed‟s bodyguard is rolling around the floor grabbing

his knee.

MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
(crying out in pain)
You shot me! You fucking asshole,
you shot me!

Magnum is looking down at the bodyguard still in a bit of

shock.

DIESEL
Come on, let‟s go.

With Mohammed still in his grasp, Diesel backs out of the

house with Magnum following close behind him.

EXT. – MR. MOHAMMED‟S HOUSE, BACKYARD – DAY

Magnum grabs one of Mohammed‟s arms while Diesel grabs the

other; all three of them run to Mohammed‟s fishing boat
which is tied up at his dock.

Diesel gets Mohammed on the boat while Magnum unties the

boat from the dock and boards as well.

EXT. – MOHAMMED‟S FISHING BOAT – DAY

Diesel pushes Mohammed onto a lounge seat on the boat.

DIESEL
(stares at Mohammed)
Magnum I‟m going up to start the
boat and get us the hell out of
here.
(pause)
He moves one inch I want you to
put one in his shoulder, he
moves again I want you to put
one in his kneecap…and one in
the other kneecap.

MAGNUM
With pleasure.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 106

Diesel climbs the ladder to get to the controls. He takes

the controls and moves the boat away from the dock and into
the Bay.

Once they‟re away from Mohammed‟s house and well into the
Bay, Diesel climbs back down the ladder and approaches
Mohammed.

DIESEL
I just want to know one thing,
where can I find Viper?

MR. MOHAMMED
I don‟t know.

Diesel takes the gun from Magnum and hits Mohammed across
the face with it.

DIESEL
Wrong answer asshole.

Mohammed‟s head jolts to the side and he begins bleeding

from the mouth.

DIESEL
I‟ll ask again, where is Viper?

MR. MOHAMMED
I…don‟t…know!

DIESEL
OK, well where is he going? What
is he planning to do?

MR. MOHAMMED
I know none of the answers to your
questions Diesel.

Diesel hits Mohammed again across the face with his gun.

MR. MOHAMMED
(yells)
What do you want from me?

DIESEL
The truth jerkoff!
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 107

MR. MOHAMMED
I don‟t know anything! I haven‟t
seen Viper in over a year, maybe
even two!
(pause)
You think he‟d seriously come to
see me after breaking out of
prison? I have too much heat on
me. He‟d be an idiot to do that!

DIESEL
(thinking)
I don‟t believe you.

MR. MOHAMMED
(yells)
It‟s the truth though!

Magnum walks up to Diesel and whispers in his ear.

MAGNUM
(whispers)
I don‟t think he‟s going to talk.

DIESEL
(staring at Mohammed)
Oh he will, we just have to find
a way to properly persuade him.

Diesel looks around the deck of the boat and sees a rope in
one corner and then a bucket full of chum in another
corner.

DIESEL
So Mr. Mohammed, were you planning
to go fishing today?

MR. MOHAMMED
(perplexed)
Yes.

DIESEL
What were you going fishing for?

MR. MOHAMMED
Dolphin fish, marlins, blacktip,
tiger sharks and whatever other
sharks might be lurking in the
waters today.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 108

DIESEL
Interesting, OK.

Diesel looks at Magnum and whispers to him.

DIESEL
I have a plan. Go tie Mohammed‟s
hands with that rope.

Magnum grabs the rope and ties Mohammed‟s hands behind his
back.

MR. MOHAMMED
(nervously)
What, what, what are you doing?

DIESEL
Well if you‟re not going to tell
us anything, you‟re of no use to
us. But luckily we racked our
brains and have figured out what
we can use you for…live bait.

MR. MOHAMMED
(confused)
What?

Diesel punches Mohammed in the face and knocks him out.

Later, as the boat is far out in the deep sea and Mr.
Mohammed finally awakes, he sees Diesel and Magnum covering
him in chum.

Mohammed starts screaming since he‟s helpless to do

anything else.

DIESEL
Stand him up Magnum.

Magnum grabs Mohammed and stands him up.

Diesel grabs a piece of chum and puts it in the inside

pocket of his jacket. He grabs another piece and puts it
in the outer pocket of his jacket.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Let‟s get the life jacket on him.

Magnum grabs a life jacket and puts it on Mohammed.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 109

MR. MOHAMMED
(yells)
What are you doing?

Diesel ignores Mohammed.

DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
Can you grab the chum bucket?

Magnum grabs the bucket and gives it to Diesel, who

promptly dumps the rest of the bucket on Mohammed‟s head.

DIESEL
That should just about do it.
(pause)
Magnum, go ahead and untie him.

Diesel puts the bucket down as Magnum unties Mohammed‟s

hands.

As soon as Mohammed is untied, Diesel kicks him in the

chest. Mohammed goes tumbling backwards and overboard into
the water below.

Mohammed is frantically swimming even though the life

jacket is keeping him afloat.

Diesel and Magnum kneel down at the edge of the boat close
to Mohammed.

Mohammed is yelling at the top of his lungs for help.

MAGNUM
Hey Diesel, I hear these are some
very shark infested waters around
here, right?

DIESEL
Yes, yes it is.

MAGNUM
What lives in these waters? Tigers
and Bulls right?

DIESEL
Oh yeah, plenty of them; in fact
there‟s probably hundreds swimming
below us right now.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 110

MAGNUM
And don‟t those sharks have something
in common?

DIESEL
They do Magnum. They‟re two of the
three most dangerous sharks in the
world to humans, outside of the Great
White of course.

MAGNUM
Damn, so that chum that he‟s got
all over him probably doesn‟t
help.

DIESEL
Nope, in fact he probably has about
twenty minutes before sharks start
circling.

Magnum looks down at the deck and notices a piece of chum

lying there.

MAGNUM
Oh well will you look at that.
There‟s a piece of chum that we
haven‟t thrown into the ocean yet.

Magnum picks it up and throws it right at Mohammed‟s face.

MR. MOHAMMED
OK, ok, I‟ll tell you anything you
want to know.

DIESEL
I knew we could persuade you.

Diesel and Magnum reach down and grab Mr. Mohammed. They
pull him over to the boat but they don‟t bring him up to
the deck; they let him hang on to the outside of it.

MR. MOHAMMED
Come on, let me up!

DIESEL
Tell us what you know first.

MR. MOHAMMED
OK, OK.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 111

DIESEL
Let‟s hear it.

MR. MOHAMMED
Viper is planting a bomb this
afternoon at the American Airlines
Arena for Game 6 of the NBA Finals,
then he‟s scheduled to escape through
the Port of Miami on an Algerian
cargo ship.

DIESEL
Fucking asshole.

Diesel reaches down to grab Mohammed. He pulls him up then

punches him in the face. Mohammed falls back into the
water.

DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
Let‟s go Magnum. Go up and take
the wheel.

MAGNUM
Sure thing.

Magnum climbs up the ladder and takes the controls.

MR. MOHAMMED
What, what? You said you‟d let me
up if I talked.

DIESEL
Actually I never said that. Sorry.
(pause)
But I‟ll tell you what; I‟m a decent
man and am willing to help you out.

Magnum starts the engine and the boat slowly pulls away
from Mohammed.

DIESEL
I‟ll call the Coast Guard right now
and give them your exact position.
They should be here to pick you up
in about a half an hour, assuming
you can hang on that long. Oh and
while I‟m calling the Coast Guard
(MORE)
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 112

DIESEL (cont‟d)
I‟ll also make sure to tell them
about your role in the bomb plot.
(pause)
No need to thank me.

Magnum kicks the boat into a higher gear and it picks up

speed.

Diesel waves goodbye to Mohammed.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
So long douchebag.

Mr. Mohammed screams wildly and flails his arms as the boat
speeds off away from him.

Diesel climbs up the ladder and stands next to Magnum.

DIESEL
We need to get back to land as soon
as possible and stop Viper.

MAGNUM
I know, we‟re going as fast as we
can; we‟re at full throttle.

DIESEL
Go faster.

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

Viper is driving down I-95 when he takes out his cell phone
and dials Mr. X.

MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah.

VIPER
Meet me in 15 minutes at Bayfront
Park. I‟ll call you in 15 minutes
with exact location. Got me?

MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.

VIPER
15 minutes. You think you can make
that?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 113

MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.

VIPER
Good.

Viper hangs up his cell phone and speeds down the highway.

EXT. – MIAMI BEACH MARINA – DAY

Viper and Magnum pull Mohammed‟s fishing boat up to a slip

and get off of it onto

THE DOCK

DIESEL
We‟ll let the Coast Guard know
later that we were nice enough to
park Mohammed‟s boat at the marina
here. But first things first.

MAGNUM
Yeah, let‟s get Viper.

DIESEL
Onto the American Airlines Arena.

MAGNUM
This could be like finding a needle
in a haystack.

DIESEL
I know. We‟ll get the authorities
involved to American Airlines to
help look for the bomb. I promise.

Diesel and Magnum approach Magnum‟s red Ferrari.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
I don‟t care if this is your car,
but I‟m driving.

MAGNUM
You‟re kidding me right? This is
my baby.

DIESEL
Yeah, but you also drive like a
bitch.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 114

MAGNUM
Fuck you.

DIESEL
Fuck you. Give me your keys.

MAGNUM
Diesel.

DIESEL
Give me your fucking keys. Seriously
we‟re not going to catch Viper with
your shit driving.

Magnum begrudgingly hands over his car keys to Diesel.

MAGNUM
Fine, but don‟t get one scratch on
my baby, Lucille.

DIESEL
Lucille?

MAGNUM
Yeah, Lucille.

DIESEL
Shut up and get in the car.

MAGNUM
What can I say, I love old re-runs
of “I Love Lucy.”

DIESEL
Seriously, shut up and get in the
car.

MAGNUM
I will but, I‟m just saying that
Lucille Ball was a huge talent,
especially for her time period.

DIESEL
Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.

Both Diesel and Magnum get in the car.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 115

EXT. – I-95 SOUTH – DAY

Magnum‟s red Ferrari is speeding down the highway dodging

in and out of traffic.

INT. - MAGNUM‟S RED FERRARI

Diesel and Magnum hit traffic on I-95 in downtown Miami and

come to a standstill on the highway.

As they‟re sitting in traffic Magnum notices Viper‟s yellow

Lamborghini driving on I-95 North in the other direction.

MAGNUM
(shocked)
Are you kidding me?

DIESEL
What?

Magnum points to the Lamborghini.

MAGNUM
It‟s Viper…seriously, it‟s Viper.

DIESEL
He didn‟t even score a new ride;
still driving around in his
Lamborghini. That arrogant asshole.
(pause)
Hold on.

Diesel makes a sharp turn and quickly pulls out of traffic.

EXT. – I-95 SOUTH – DAY

Diesel speeds down the highway on the shoulder until he

hits the next exit.

He goes down the off ramp and runs the red light at the end
of the ramp which makes cars coming from the other
direction hit the brakes or spin out.

Diesel turns onto a SIDE STREET by the highway.

Then he cuts off traffic coming from the opposite direction

in an effort to get back onto I-95 North as quickly as
possible.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 116

Diesel speeds around traffic on the ON RAMP.

EXT. – I-95 NORTH – DAY

Diesel continues ducking in and out and around traffic

trying to catch up to Viper.

After about 30 seconds, they can finally see the yellow

Lamborghini in the distance.

MAGNUM
(points out)
There he is!

DIESEL
I see him.

Diesel kicks it into a higher gear and quickly catches up

to Viper.

Viper turns off the highway onto an off ramp, not knowing
that Diesel is right behind him.

I-95 NORTH OFF RAMP

Viper calmly rolls to a stop at a red light at the end of

the ramp.

INT. – MAGNUM‟S RED FERRARI

MAGNUM
What are we going to do?

DIESEL
We‟re going to box him in.

MAGNUM
Remember what I said about getting
a scratch on Lucille.

DIESEL
Yes, it‟s been noted.

Diesel pulls up to the red light and quickly drives in

front of Viper; parking perpendicular to his car and boxing
him in between Diesel and the car behind him.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 117

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

Viper looks into the Ferrari and notices that it‟s Diesel
and Magnum.

VIPER
Fuck. Damn you Diesel.

Viper abruptly puts his car into reverse, nailing the car
behind him, then quickly kicks it into high gear.

He drives through the red light, causing cars coming from

the other direction to hit the brakes and spin out to avoid
hitting him.

Viper drives straight ahead to the I-95 NORTH ON RAMP to

get back on the highway.

INT. – MAGNUM‟S RED FERRARI

DIESEL
Bastard.

Diesel puts his car in reserve and quickly follows Viper

onto the ON RAMP and back onto I-95.

Diesel leaves the same kind of mess in his wake; cars

spinning out and hitting the brakes to avoid hitting him.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Yo Magnum. Reach into the glove
compartment and pull out the CD
labeled “Greatest Hits.”

Magnum rifles through the glove compartment until he finds

the CD. He gives it to Viper who pops it into his CD
player.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Time for some mood music.

Rap music begins to blare in the car, the chase is on.

EXT. – I-95 NORTH – DAY

Diesel chases Viper up the highway.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 118

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

Viper calmly pulls out his cell phone and calls Mr. X
again.

MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah.

VIPER
Temporary change of plans. It
doesn‟t look if I‟ll be able to
meet in 15 minutes.

MR. X (O.S.)
Is everything ok? It is imperative
that this assignment be carried out
today.

VIPER
(annoyed)
Don‟t worry, your assignment will
be carried out as planned. I have
never failed and I don‟t plan to
start now.
(pause)
I just hit a little delay, no big
deal. I will call you again in a
bit to update you on my status.

Viper hangs up his cell phone and throws it on the

passenger‟s seat.

EXT. – I-95 NORTH - DAY

Diesel continues chasing Viper in and out of traffic along

the highway.

After a while, Viper ends up cutting off an 18-wheeler

refrigerated meat truck. The truck spins out of control
and hits the guardrail.

This leads to several cars smashing into the truck and

damaging the trailer. The door on the damaged trailer
opens up and spills large slabs of frozen beef all over the
highway.

The truck ends up jackknifing across the road and finally

comes to a stop.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 119

Diesel dodges all the slabs of beef rolling around the road
and the car crash pile-up, but the jackknifed truck is
blocking his exit.

Diesel drives right towards the trailer.

INT. – MAGNUM‟S RED FERRARI

Magnum is looking at the trailer in front of him in terror.

MAGNUM
(scared)
Ummm, Diesel, what are you doing?

DIESEL
I‟m going to drive right under the
trailer. It‟s our only way out.

MAGNUM
(terrified)
I wouldn‟t do that Diesel, I wouldn‟t
do that. You don‟t know all the
exact angles of this car. You
don‟t know if we can make it.

DIESEL
It looks like we can fit.

As Diesel gets closer to the trailer, Magnum screams out.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
(yells)
Ummm, duck!

Diesel drives the Ferrari underneath the trailer at a high

speed.

The car barely makes it under and in fact the roof of the
car actually rips off turning the Ferrari into a
convertible.

Diesel looks at Magnum sheepishly.

DIESEL
Oops.

MAGNUM
(angrily)
Oops?!? Oops!?!

DIESEL
I owe you a new Ferrari.

MAGNUM
You damn right you do! I want it
fully loaded too.

Viper, who has about a 50 yard lead on Diesel, exits the

highway as Diesel follows him.

EXT. – BASKETBALL COURT ON SIDE STREET, OFF OF I-95 – DAY

A pick-up basketball game is being played under the hot

South Florida sun with several spectators watching the
action and cheering along the perimeter of the court.

One of the players takes an alley-oop from his teammate and

dunks the ball on the opposing player.

BASKETBALL PLAYER #1
In your face bitch! I‟ll be doing
that all day on you!

The opposing player pushes the other guy in the chest to

get him out of his face.

BASKETBALL PLAYER #2
Fuck you and just play.

All of a sudden, Viper spins out of control on the side

street behind the court and turns onto the playground.

He drives through the chain-link fence that separates the

basketball court from the rest of the playground and speeds
right through the pick-up game.

This sends everyone on the court scurrying away in every

direction. The player with the basketball throws it right
up in the air and runs away in fear.

BASKETBALL PLAYER #3
(yells)
Shit! God damn!

Viper does a 360 at center court then drives off of the

court and back onto another side street.

Diesel follows Viper through the basketball court but at a

more cautious speed so that he doesn‟t hit anyone.

EXT. – STREET LEADING UP TO CALDER RACE COURSE – DAY

Viper speeds down the street leading to the Calder Race

Track with Diesel behind him.

EXT. – MAGNUM‟S RED FERRARI – DAY

MAGNUM
(perplexed)
Where is he going, the race track?

EXT. – CALDER RACE COURSE – DAY

PARKING LOT

Viper drives into the parking lot and heads immediately to

the

PERIMETER OF THE STRUCTURE

Viper drives around the outside of the structure.

HORSE RACE TRACK

A horse race is just about ready to get underway, as the

horses are lining up one by one in the starting gate.

CALDER PA ANNOUNCER (O.S.)

We‟re almost set for the fifth
race of the day as the horses are
getting into the starting gate.

PERIMETER OF THE STRUCTURE

Viper comes to an area that leads to the actual track.

Entry is blocked by a wooden fence, but Viper drives right
through it.

HORSE RACE TRACK

A bell sounds, the starting gate opens and the horses are
off and running around the track.

CALDER PA ANNOUNCER (O.S.)

And they‟re off!

The starting gate gets pulled off of the track.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 122

Out of nowhere, Viper enters the racetrack and speeds along

it, kicking dirt high up into the air.

Diesel also enters the track soon after Viper.

Viper and Diesel catch up to the horses racing around the

track. So as the horses race around on the inside of the
track, Diesel chases Viper along the outside of the track.

THE CROWD

Everyone in the crowd is looking on, and looking at each

other, in shock. They can‟t believe they‟re seeing two
cars race around the track during a horse race.

MAGNUM‟S RED FERRARI

DIESEL
(calmly)
Well this is highly unusual.

MAGNUM
You got that right.

THE LEAD HORSE

A jockey on the lead horse looks to his side and sees Viper
driving next to him. He does a double take not believing
what he‟s seeing.

His jaw drops open in disbelief. This distraction makes

him lose the lead as other horses surpass him.

HORSE RACE TRACK

Diesel continues chasing Viper around the track as the

horses continue racing.

As Diesel drives, he turns and gives an awkward wave to the

jockeys looking at him in shock.

Viper comes upon the entry point that he drove into and
exits the track through there. Diesel follows him.

THE CROWD

With the cars now out of the track, everyone continues to

look at each other in shock.

EXT. – STREET LEADING OUT OF CALDER RACE COURSE – DAY

Viper speeds down the street leading out of the Calder Race
Track with Diesel behind him.

EXT. – I-95 SOUTH – DAY

Viper drives back onto I-95, this time going southbound.

As he gets back onto the highway, there is a large convoy

of NASCAR tractor trailers driving down the highway, one
right after the other, heading to the Homestead Speedway.

Viper cruises down the highway with Diesel still behind

him.

He gets behind another tractor trailer but is unable to

pass him due to all the other traffic on the road.

METROZOO TRACTOR TRAILER

The side of the tractor trailer says “Miami Metrozoo” and

features pictures of exotic animals.

INT. – METROZOO TRACTOR TRAILER

Sunlight is streaming into the relatively dark space of the

trailer. Roaming around inside the trailer, which doubles
as a large cage, are three Siberian tigers.

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

Viper is still trying to pass the tractor trailer.

VIPER
(annoyed)
Come on, get the fuck out of my
way.

EXT. – I-95 SOUTH – DAY

Viper eventually sees a little bit of a hole open up in the

next lane so he quickly pulls out.

He ends up sideswiping another car. That car ends up

hitting the tractor trailer truck transporting the tigers
and the truck goes out of control.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 124

Just as Viper passes by the truck, the truck flips on its

side and the back door of the damaged trailer opens.

The three tigers escape out of the trailer as several cars

begin to crash into each other to avoid hitting the truck.
Other cars hit their brakes and stop on the highway.

The tigers begin running ferociously around the highway.

One jumps on the roof of one car and lets out a loud roar.

Another jumps into the driver‟s seat of one car and mauls
the driver as he desperately tries to roll up his window as
quickly as possible. The driver moans and groans.

The third tiger roams around the highway lanes seemingly

stalking his prey.

MAGNUM‟S RED FERRARI

Diesel comes to a stop on the highway behind the accident

and the carnage.

MAGNUM
This day is just getting weirder
by the second. What the hell is
going to happen next?

DIESEL
(calmly)
It sucks that we‟re in a convertible
now. That makes us a bit vulnerable
to these tigers.

Magnum looks up and is reminded that they‟re in a

convertible now which makes him freak out.

MAGNUM
(scared)
Shit that‟s right! Diesel, get us
out of here, get us out of here
Diesel!

DIESEL
Ok, ok, calm down though, we‟ll
be fine.

Diesel sees Viper driving off the highway in the distance.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 125

DIESEL
Damn, he‟s getting off the highway
again.

Diesel sneaks around several cars to get to the shoulder of

the road. He drives down the shoulder and passes the
accident and the damaged truck.

INT. – VIPER‟S YELLOW LAMBORGHINI

Viper drives to the end of the off ramp of the highway.

He looks down at the gas gauge and notices it‟s on “empty”

and a red light, which signifies an empty gas tank, is
blinking.

He punches his steering wheel in frustration.

VIPER
Damn it!

Viper looks around and surveys the scene for ideas. Off in
the distance, he notices one of the NASCAR tractor trailers
from the earlier convoy stopped at a gas station. It‟s
Tony Stewart‟s #20 car trailer.

He drives over to the gas station and parks his Lamborghini

at the convenience store.

EXT. – SHELL GAS STATION – DAY

Viper gets out of his car and approaches the tractor

trailer. The driver is at the gas pump filling up the
truck.

VIPER
Hey man.

TRACTOR TRAILER DRIVER

(looks at Viper)
Yeah.

Viper pulls out a gun from his waistband and shoots the
driver right in the head. He falls down dead immediately.

Viper grabs the keys off of the driver and unlocks the back
door of the trailer.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 126

He jumps into the trailer and, after a few seconds of

silence, the #20 stockcar comes jumping out of the trailer.

The stockcar hits the ground and Viper speeds out of the
gas station and down the street.

EXT. – OFF RAMP, I-95 SOUTH - DAY

Diesel comes to the end of the ramp and sees the #20
stockcar drive off in the distance.

Diesel turns onto the street and he also notices that his
car is running out of gas. He looks down at the gas gauge
and see it‟s on “empty.”

DIESEL
Shit, I‟m out of gas.

Magnum points out to a gas station across the street, it‟s

a different gas station than the one in the distance that
Viper went to.

MAGNUM
Well there‟s a gas station at least.

EXT. – EXXON GAS STATION - DAY

Diesel and Magnum are standing by the gas pump filling up

the car.

MAGNUM
Well at least it shouldn‟t be too
hard to find someone driving Tony
Stewart‟s stockcar around the
streets of Miami.

DIESEL
Tony Stewart, huh?

MAGNUM
Yeah, that was Tony Stewart‟s #20
Home Depot car.

DIESEL
(impressed)
Magnum, I didn‟t know you were
such a fan of NASCAR.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 127

MAGNUM
Oh yeah.
(pause)
You know it‟s ok for a black man
to like NASCAR, right?

DIESEL
Well I guess there‟s a first for
everything.

Diesel finishes pumping gas.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Come on, let‟s go.

MAGNUM
Where are we going to go? He‟s
long gone.

DIESEL
Right. Let‟s just head to the
arena. We know for a fact he‟ll
be there.

Diesel and Magnum get back into the car and drive off.

EXT. – MAIN ROAD, MIAMI – DAY

A super stretch Hummer limousine is stopped at a red light

on a side street in Miami. The limousine is so huge that
there are bikini-clad young women playing with a beach ball
in an outside hot tub in the back.

The women are laughing, pushing each other, and having a

lot of fun. There‟s music blasting from a radio on the hot
tub.

The light turns green and the limousine slowly turns onto a
main road.

As the car is turning, Viper is speeding down the road in

his newly acquired stockcar.

Viper tries to step on the brakes after seeing the

limousine turning, but it‟s too late. He ends up driving
straight through the middle of the limousine, splitting it
in half.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 128

All of the girls in the hot tub start screaming as a few of

them go flying into the street.

Viper spins out from the accident and loses control

INT. – MASERATI DEALERSHIP, SHOWROOM

A salesman is showing a middle-aged couple a sleek, black

Maserati in the middle of the showroom.

MASERATI SALESMAN
Sir, trust me, you cannot go wrong
with a Maserati. Our name, our
customer service, our commitment
to excellence are all top notch
and second to none. Believe me
you‟ll be the envy of your neighbors,
your friends, your co-workers,
even that guy you pull up next to
on the street corner if they see
you driving around in one of
these babies.

MALE MASERATI CUSTOMER

I love it!

FEMALE MASERATI CUSTOMER

I don‟t know honey, do you really
need this? I mean, I understand
middle life crises but this is
ridiculous.

MALE MASERATI CUSTOMER

Baby, you‟re always telling me
what to do. But I make the money
in the family.
(looks at the salesman)
We‟ll take it.

MASERATI SALESMAN
(smiles)
Very good sir. Come let‟s go
over to my desk and we‟ll start
the paperwork.

All of a sudden, Viper plows his stockcar right through the

front window of the showroom.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 129

Everyone in the showroom quickly runs out of the way and

takes cover behind showroom cars and desks.

Viper comes to a stop in the middle of the showroom, right

by the Maserati that the couple was just looking at.

Viper gets out of the car and approaches the salesman, who
is now sitting behind his desk in the showroom, with his
gun drawn and pointed at him.

VIPER
Give me the keys to this car over
here or I‟ll kill you. Simple as
that.

The salesman nervously rifles through his desk until he

finds the right pair of keys.

MASERATI SALESMAN
OK, ok, ok, just don‟t shoot me.

Viper takes the keys.

VIPER
Have a nice day.

Viper walks over to the car and notices the scared couple
standing right next to it.

VIPER
Were you looking at this car?

MALE MASERATI CUSTOMER

(scared)
Yeesss.

VIPER
Were you going to buy it?

MALE MASERATI CUSTOMER

(scared)
Yeesss.

Viper looks over the car then looks back at the couple.

VIPER
You got good taste.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 130

MALE MASERATI CUSTOMER

(scared)
Thanks.

Viper gets in the car and drives out of the showroom, right
through the window that he just crashed through.

INT. – BLACK MASERATI

Viper cruises down a street in Miami.

He takes his cell phone out and calls Mr. X again.

MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah.

VIPER
We‟re back on track.

MR. X (O.S.)
Excellent.

VIPER
Meet me at Bayfront Park in 15
minutes.

MR. X (O.S.)
We won‟t have any other problems,
will we?

VIPER
Shut up and just meet me in 15
minutes. You‟ll receive further
instructions then.

Viper hangs up the phone and continues to cruise down the

road. He‟s heading towards the downtown Miami skyline.

EXT. – BAYFRONT PARK – DAY

Viper pulls up to the perimeter of the park and surveys the

scene.

The park is almost empty, there are only a few people

walking around – one person is walking their puppy, there‟s
a couple walking holding hands, and there are a group of
friends hanging out by a bench.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 131

INT. – BLACK MASERATI

Viper picks up his phone and calls Mr. X again.

MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah.

VIPER
OK, you‟re here?

MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.

VIPER
Do you see the black Maserati on
the street right outside of the
park?

MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.

VIPER
There‟s a garbage can about 20
yards away from my car, in front
of me. You see that?

MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.

VIPER
Drop the package in the garbage
can, then walk away. Do not
come any closer to my car than
that garbage can. I will shoot
if you attempt to approach my
vehicle. You got that?

MR. X (O.S.)
OK.

Viper hangs up his phone. He sits in silence as he watches

everything in the park.

EXT. – BAYFRONT PARK – DAY

After about 20 seconds, MR. X approaches the garbage can.

Mr. X is a tall man dressed in a black suit, sunglasses and
a fedora.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 132

Mr. X looks around cautiously in all directions then he

places a briefcase into the garbage can carefully.

After he places the briefcase in the garbage can, Mr. X

walks away nonchalantly.

Viper waits for about 10 seconds before making his move.

He drives up onto the grass of the park and right over to

the garbage can.

Viper rolls down his window, reaches out into the garbage
can and grabs the briefcase.

Once it‟s in his possession he drives away.

EXT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, PARKING LOT – DAY

Viper pulls into a packed parking lot and parks right up

front in a handicapped spot.

INT. – BLACK MASERATI

Viper puts the briefcase on his lap and opens it up.

Inside is a dirty bomb with a sophisticated wiring system.
Also inside is a cell phone and a handwritten note.

Viper takes out the cell phone and opens the note.

The note reads: “Call programmed number to test and arm

bomb. Call again to detonate.”

Upon reading the note, Viper calls the programmed number at

which point the LED panel on the bomb lights up and
activates.

He closes the briefcase and locks it up. Then he gets out

of the car.

EXT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, PARKING LOT – DAY

Viper walks up to a loading dock entrance gate at the back

of the arena.

EXT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, LOADING DOCK ENTRANCE – DAY

He is greeted immediately by a security guard who opens the

gate.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 133

ARENA SECURITY GUARD

Can I help you?

Viper pulls out a gun with a silencer on it from the back

of his pants and shoots the security guard dead.

He leans down and drags the guard behind a dumpster to hide

him. A small trail of blood from the gate to the dumpster
is left behind.

Viper takes off an ID badge from around the guard‟s neck

and puts it on himself.

Viper walks into the loading dock area where he is

approached by two more security guards.

Both guards are immediately shot dead by him.

INT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, COURT

Both the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers, the two teams
in Game 6 of the NBA Championship, are warming up on their
respective sides.

Dwayne Wade from the Miami Heat is practicing his free

throws at one end while Kobe Bryant is doing an interview
with ESPN on the other end.

ESPN FEMALE REPORTER

Kobe, how important is it to
finish off the Heat today in
game six and not push it to a
game seven.

KOBE BRYANT
Well it‟s very important. Miami
is a great team with a terrific
offense. Any time you have a
chance to close out the other
team, especially a team like the
Heat, you have to go for it. You
definitely don‟t want them hanging
around if you can help it.

ESPN FEMALE REPORTER

Thank you and good luck today
Kobe.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 134

KOBE BRYANT
Yeah, thanks.

Kobe goes back on the court and immediately shoots a three-

pointer.

INT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, LOADING DOCK

Viper opens a door of the loading dock and enters a

hallway.

He walks over to a vending machine in the hallway and

Once he places it, he looks around to make sure nobody saw

him then he quickly exits the arena.

EXT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, PARKING LOT – DAY

Viper‟s Black Maserati leaves the parking lot through one

exit while Diesel drives into the parking lot through
another entrance.

Diesel parks the Ferrari in a normal parking space and both

him and Magnum get out of the car and walk through the lot
towards the arena.

MAGNUM
How do you figure we‟re going to
find Viper? Or the bomb for that
matter?

DIESEL
I don‟t know, but I‟m guessing he‟s
not just going to walk through the
front door.
(pause)
If I was him I‟d probably try to
sneak through the back.

EXT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, LOADING DOCK ENTRANCE – DAY

Diesel and Magnum approach the entrance gate, which is now

wide open.

Diesel notices the trail of blood on the ground.

DIESEL
Look, blood.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 135

Diesel and Magnum both draw their guns and proceed very
carefully past the gate.

They follow the trail of blood to behind the dumpster where

they find the security guard lying on the ground dead.

Viper kneels down next to him and checks his pulse.

DIESEL
He‟s dead.
(pause)
Watch out around here.

Diesel stands up and both him and Magnum walk very slowly
up to the loading dock area; guns still drawn.

Soon they find the other two guards that were shot.

DIESEL
Magnum, check him out.

Diesel checks the pulse of one of the guards while Magnum

checks the pulse of the other one, but both are dead.

MAGNUM
He‟s dead Diesel.

DIESEL
Yeah, this one too.
(pause)
Grab their ID badges.

MAGNUM
What?

DIESEL
Grab their badges so no one will
question us.

Diesel and Magnum take the ID badges from around the necks
of the security guards and they each put them on.

INT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, COURT

The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers line up at center

court for the tipoff. They shake each other‟s hands then
get in position.

Dwayne Wade of the Heat ends up scoring on a jump shot.

The Lakers inbound the ball, drive it up the court and Kobe
Bryant ends up hitting a jumper for a score.

INT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, LOADING DOCK

Diesel opens the door of the loading dock and he and Magnum
enter the hallway.

DIESEL
OK, time to get lucky. You
search that way (points to the
left) I‟ll go this way.

MAGNUM
Right.

Magnum runs down the hallway in one direction while Diesel

goes in the other direction.

He drives through the chain-link fence and proceeds down

the roadway.

EXT. – PORT OF MIAMI, ROADWAY – DAY

Viper pulls up besides a huge Algerian cargo ship.

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 137

He gets out of his car and walks over to the ship.

Standing on the dock to greet him is the ship‟s CAPTAIN, a
gruff Middle Eastern man in his mid-40‟s.

CARGO SHIP CAPTAIN

You must be Viper.

VIPER
Yes.

CARGO SHIP CAPTAIN

(smiles)
Ha, pleasure to meet you.

The captain shakes Viper‟s hand.

CARGO SHIP CAPTAIN

It‟s always good to meet someone
that fights for Allah. That
fights for truth.
(pause)
Come, let‟s board. We‟re scheduled
to leave immediately.

The two men board the ship.

INT. – AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, LOADING DOCK

After running around the hallway, the two men re-group back
at the door.

DIESEL
Anything?

MAGNUM
(out of breath)
No, you?

DIESEL
No.

MAGNUM
It could be anywhere, come on
let‟s get the cops.

DIESEL
OK, fine.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 138

Just as Diesel is about to walk away, he looks down at the

vending machine in the hallway and sees something behind
it.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Hold on, wait.

Diesel walks cautiously over to the vending machine and

kneels down next to it. He reaches behind it and grabs the
briefcase.

He tries to open it but it‟s locked.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
You got a pocket knife on you?

MAGNUM
Sure do.

Magnum takes out a pocket knife and gives it to Diesel.

Diesel busts the lock and opens the briefcase.

Once opened, both him and Magnum see that it‟s a dirty
bomb. Diesel closes the briefcase back up.

DIESEL
Whatever you do, don‟t make any
sudden movements.

MAGNUM
Jesus Christ. It‟s a fucking bomb!

DIESEL
I know it is.

MAGNUM
Let‟s find the cops.

DIESEL
No, not anymore.

MAGNUM
(surprised)
What?

DIESEL
This looks pretty complicated,
they probably won‟t be able to
defuse it in time.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 139

MAGNUM
So what are we going to do?

DIESEL
Find Viper, beat the piss out of
him until he disarms it for us.

MAGNUM
I knew you were going to say that.

DIESEL
Let‟s go to the Port.

MAGNUM
What, we‟re going to drive with this
thing?

DIESEL
Well how else are we going to do
this?

MAGNUM
(thinking)
I don‟t know.

DIESEL
OK, let‟s go to the Port then.
(pause)
We should have some time to work
with. Viper isn‟t going to detonate
this thing until he‟s well out of
range.

Diesel very carefully and slowly opens the door and walks
out of the hallway followed closely by Magnum.

INT. – MAGNUM‟S RED FERRARI

Diesel is driving down a main road heading towards the Port

of Miami.

Magnum looks absolutely scared to death as the briefcase is

sitting on top of his lap.

Diesel looks over to him.

DIESEL
How we doing over there Magnum?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 140

MAGNUM
Oh, besides the fact that I have
a dirty bomb sitting directly over
my crotch, I‟m doing just fine.

DIESEL
(laughs)
Well you‟re doing just fine. Hang
in there, we‟re almost at the Port.

MAGNUM
If you could at all hurry up without
triggering this thing, it‟d be much
appreciated.

DIESEL
(laughs again)
Don‟t worry, we‟re almost there.

EXT. – PORT OF MIAMI, SECURITY CHECKPOINT - DAY

Diesel pulls up to the security checkpoint at the Port.

Upon seeing the dead security guards laying all around the
ground, Diesel and Magnum jump out of the car.

DIESEL
Shit. Come on Magnum, let‟s find
this ship.

Diesel and Magnum run down the roadway and towards the
docks of the Port. Magnum is carrying the briefcase.

They run all the way to the edge of the Port and to the tip
of the water.

Diesel looks all around the Port and can‟t find the
Algerian cargo ship.

DIESEL
Well, where the hell is the ship?

MAGNUM
I don‟t know.

Magnum also looks around for the ship. After a few

seconds, he looks out over the water and sees the Algerian
cargo ship cruising away in the distance.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 141

MAGNUM
(points out over
the water)
Look, there it is!

DIESEL
(deflated)
Great.

Magnum turns around and looks inland.

MAGNUM
We need a boat.

Diesel sees a luxury yacht floating about 50 yards away

from the port, and, unbeknownst to Magnum, he jumps right
into the water and starts swimming over to it.

Magnum turns back around to face the water and sees Diesel
swimming. He‟s still holding the briefcase.

MAGNUM
Oh damn, you crazy, silly son-of-a
bitch.
(yells out to Diesel)
Diesel! Diesel!

EXT.-BISCAYNE BAY, PORT OF MIAMI – DAY

Diesel comes to the surface and yells back to Magnum.

DIESEL
Wait there. I‟ll pick you up in
a minute. Don‟t let that briefcase
out of your sight.

Diesel swims the 50 yards up to the yacht.

DIESEL
(yells)
Help me up!

EXT. – LUXURY YACHT, BISCAYNE BAY - DAY

A family of four is hanging out on the yacht. The middle-

aged FATHER hears Diesel‟s scream for help and he goes to
the stern of the boat.

The father reaches over and helps Diesel up onto the boat.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 142

DAD ON YACHT
You OK?

DIESEL
(out of breath)
Yeah, just fine.

DAD ON YACHT
What are you doing in the water?
Boat sink or something?

Diesel points out to the Algerian cargo ship in the

distance.

DIESEL
(out of breath)
I need to pick up my buddy at the
Port over there then I need to get
to that cargo ship out there as
quickly as possible.

The father laughs thinking that Diesel is joking.

DAD ON YACHT
Are you serious?

DIESEL
Yes.

DAD ON YACHT
That‟s impossible, I can never
catch up to that ship with this
boat. It‟s not that powerful.

Diesel starts looking around the water for other

alternatives.

After a little bit, Diesel sees a speedboat about one

hundred yards away. The two younger guys on it are
joyboating and going around in large circles.

DIESEL
OK, get me to that speedboat at
least.

DAD ON YACHT
Why?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 143

DIESEL
You see that ship out there?

DAD ON YACHT
Yeah.

DIESEL
You‟ve heard of Viper, right?

DAD ON YACHT
Yeah, of course.

DIESEL
Viper is on that boat.

DAD ON YACHT
(cautiously)
Who are you?

DIESEL
Nobody really. Just some guy that
wants to see justice done.
(pause)
Please, just get me to that
speedboat, I‟ll take care of the
rest. You won‟t even need to pick
up my buddy at the Port. I‟ll do
it. Just get me to that speedboat.

DAD ON YACHT
Sure.

The father rushes over to the control room. On his way

there his WIFE stops him.

MOM ON YACHT
Is everything ok?

DAD ON YACHT
Yeah, everything‟s fine. We‟re
just making a quick pit stop.

The yacht cruises over to the vicinity of the speedboat

while it‟s still going around in circles.

Diesel rushes to the bow of the yacht and starts waving his
arms to get the speedboat‟s attention.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 144

DIESEL
(yells)
Hey! Hey! Hey!

The guys on the speedboat don‟t see him, so the father

approaches Diesel.

DAD ON YACHT
It‟s no use, they‟re not paying
attention.

DIESEL
Do you have a flare gun?

DAD ON YACHT
What?

DIESEL
A flare gun.

DAD ON YACHT
Of course, why?

DIESEL
They‟ll pay attention to that.

DAD ON YACHT
OK.

The father runs to grab a flare gun then returns back and
gives it to Diesel.

Diesel aims it in the direction of the speedboat.

DAD ON YACHT
Hey, you‟re not going to shoot the
speedboat, are you?

DIESEL
Hopefully not, that would defeat
the purpose. I‟m just going to get
their attention.

Diesel waits for the speedboat to get in the perfect

position then he fires a shot straight ahead right by its‟
bow.

After seeing the flare, the speedboat stops.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
(pushing the father)
OK, go, go, get the boat over there
to them.

The father goes back to the controls and they cruise over
to the speedboat.

GUY ON SPEEDBOAT
(angrily)
Hey man, what was the deal with
that? You almost hit us!

Diesel pulls out his gun and points it at him.

DIESEL
I need your boat for the greater
good.

GUY ON SPEEDBOAT
OK, ok, ok, just don‟t shoot man.

DIESEL
Get out of the boat.
(looks at the other
guy on the boat)
You too.

The two guys climb aboard the yacht as Diesel jumps onto
the speedboat.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
This nice gentleman can take you
back to the marina.
(pause)
Right?

DAD ON YACHT
Oh yes, oh yes, sure.

DIESEL
I‟ll return your speedboat back
to the marina in an hour, after
I take care of some business.

Diesel gets behind the controls of the speedboat and

cruises off.

The family of four and the two other guys stand on the deck
of the yacht in total confusion.

INT. – ALGERIAN CARGO SHIP, CONTROL ROOM

Viper enters the large control room of the ship. He takes

the cell phone out of his pocket, looks at it then sets it
down on a table right by the entrance.

He walks over to the control panel and pats the captain,

who is standing next to him, on his back.

VIPER
It‟s a beautiful day to sail, isn‟t
it?

CARGO SHIP CAPTAIN

That it is sir. However there‟s a
storm front fast approaching from
the west, it should be here in
about 15-20 minutes.

VIPER
Ahhh a storm front. How apropos for
a day like this.

Viper picks up a pair of binoculars and looks out over the

water.

EXT. – SPEEDBOAT, BISCAYNE BAY – DAY

Diesel speeds over to the edge of the dock at the Port of

Miami to pick up Magnum.

DIESEL
Get in.

Magnum jumps into the speedboat with the briefcase.

MAGNUM
Good job Diesel.

DIESEL
Ready?

MAGNUM
Let‟s go.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 147

Diesel kicks the speedboat into high gear as they speed

over and through the choppy waves directly towards the
Algerian cargo ship which is now about one mile away from
them.

Eventually, Diesel pulls next to the cargo ship and up to a

ladder that is connected to the ship‟s outside.

DIESEL
Take the controls.

MAGNUM
You sure you don‟t want me to come
up there with you?

DIESEL
No, this is my fight.

MAGNUM
(interrupts him)
This is our fight.

DIESEL
OK, true; but I‟ll handle this.

MAGNUM
But Diesel, I can…

DIESEL
(interrupts him)
No Magnum. I understand that we‟re
in this together, but it‟s also
personal to me. Let me do this.
Take control of the boat, I‟ll
need you to get us the hell out
of here.

Magnum takes a moment to think about everything.

MAGNUM
(smiles)
OK.

Diesel grabs the briefcase and throws it around his wrist.

MAGNUM (cont‟d)
Good luck Diesel. Be careful.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 148

DIESEL
Keep the boat steady and stay close
to the ship at all times. You never
know when I‟ll have to make a quick
exit.

MAGNUM
OK.

Diesel climbs up to the edge of the boat and turns back

around to give Magnum a firm handshake.

DIESEL
No matter what happens up there…
Thanks.

MAGNUM
(smiles)
No problem, I‟d do anything for
you.

Diesel climbs up the ladder and boards the ship.

EXT. – ALGERIAN CARGO SHIP, DECK - DAY

Diesel jumps on the deck and immediately draws his gun. He

cautiously walks along the deck.

He carefully opens the door to the ship and enters.

INT. – ALGERIAN CARGO SHIP

HALLWAY

Diesel walks down a hallway in the ship and cautiously

looks into one room and then the next.

He sees a few crew members hanging out talking in one room

so he quickly bypasses them.

He enters a large room that is used as the crew‟s living

quarters.

LIVING QUARTERS

He surveys the room then puts the briefcase under a cot

towards the center of the room.

Then he exits the room and goes back into the

“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 149

HALLWAY

He cautiously proceeds down the long hallway then after

several feet Viper comes out of nowhere from behind and
punches Diesel in the back of the neck.

Diesel falls right down to the ground.

VIPER
You certainly are a persistent
son-of-a-bitch, aren‟t you?

DIESEL
(coughing)
Yeah, I‟m too stupid to know when
to give up.

VIPER
Well this is the end of the line for
you.

As Diesel tries to stand up, Viper kicks him right in the

face.

DIESEL
Tell me where you planted the bomb?

VIPER
What makes you think I planted a
bomb?

DIESEL
It was the last thing Mohammed said,
before he became shark food.
(pause)
So tell me where the bomb is.

As Diesel tries to stand up again, Viper punches him right

in the face twice. Then Viper grabs him and throws him
back down the hallway.

VIPER
Fuck you.

Viper kicks Diesel in the side repeatedly. Then he picks

him up and throws him through the door and out onto the
deck. Viper follows him out to the deck.

EXT. – ALGERIAN CARGO SHIP, DECK - DAY

The once sunny sky is gone and now the area is engulfed in
a classic Miami thunderstorm, complete with tropical rain,
lightning and loud thunder.

Viper tries to kick Diesel again, but Diesel grabs his leg,
throws him down, gets up and starts kicking Viper in the
face.

DIESEL
No, fuck you!

Diesel stands Viper up and gives him an uppercut, then a

jab, then another uppercut.

This begins an epic fight between him and Viper all over
the deck. Punching, kicking, throwing each other around,
using foreign objects on the deck.

Diesel pins down Viper on the ground.

DIESEL
Give me the location of the bomb.

VIPER
Never.

The two continue fighting around the deck.

After a while, Diesel pushes Viper against a large open

container on the deck. Viper reaches into the container
and grabs a jagged piece of metal when Diesel isn‟t
looking.

As Diesel approaches Viper, Viper turns around rapidly and

stabs Diesel in the stomach.

Diesel is shocked and drops to the ground as he bleeds

profusely from his stomach.

VIPER
Checkmate asshole.

Viper picks up a helpless Diesel and throws him off the

side of the ship.

He stands there for a few seconds to watch Diesel go under

the water then he walks away and goes back into the ship.

EXT. – ATLANTIC OCEAN – DAY

Diesel begins to sink slowly as the speedboat comes out

from around the ship and pulls up to the area of the water
where Diesel fell into.

Magnum is frantic on the speedboat.

MAGNUM
Don‟t do this Diesel.

He takes off both layers of shirts and jumps into the water
to save Diesel.

Magnum holds his breath and dives underwater. After a few

seconds he finds Diesel, grabs him and gets him back to the
surface.

He‟s holding Diesel as he swims back to the speedboat.

MAGNUM
Hold on Diesel, hold on!

Once they get back to the speedboat, Magnum helps lift

Diesel onto the boat. Diesel is writhing in obvious pain.

Then Magnum jumps back onto the speedboat.

EXT. – SPEEDBOAT, ATLANTIC OCEAN - DAY

Magnum helps Diesel onto a seat and checks him out. Diesel
is a bloodied and beaten mess, with the blood mostly
centered around his stomach.

MAGNUM
You ok?

Diesel is exhausted, coughing and disoriented and is hardly

able to give a response.

Magnum grabs one of his shirts and ties it tightly around

Diesel‟s stomach.

MAGNUM (cont‟d)
Hang in there.

Diesel musters all of his strength to sit up straight and

grabs Magnum.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 152

DIESEL
(coughing)
Get as far away from the ship
as possible, now!
(pause)
Go!

MAGNUM
OK.

Magnum takes the controls, kicks the speedboat into high

gear and cruises away from the ship.

The speedboat breaks through waves and heads back to

Biscayne Bay and land as fast as possible.

As they come close to the Miami Beach Marina, the sun

starts coming out again.

Diesel is feeling much better and is getting his bearings

back. He‟s still hurting and seriously injured but he can
talk fine now.

MAGNUM
Diesel, you OK? You‟re looking
much better now.

DIESEL
I‟ll be OK. I‟ll need a hell of a
doctor though, but I‟ll be OK.

MAGNUM
We good?

DIESEL
(smiles)
Oh, we good!

INT. – ALGERIAN CARGO SHIP, CONTROL ROOM

A banged up Viper is at the control room looking out over

the water with a pair of binoculars.

He puts the binoculars down and looks at his watch. The

captain is standing next to him.

CARGO SHIP CAPTAIN

Viper, we should be far enough away

now. You‟re free to detonate when
you wish.

VIPER
Well, why delay the celebration
any longer, right?

Viper walks over to the table by the entrance of the

control room and picks up his cell phone.

He looks at it and dials the last number in it.

EXT. – ATLANTIC OCEAN - DAY

The Algerian cargo ship explodes in a mushroom cloud. The

ship is destroyed instantaneously.

EXT. – MIAMI BEACH MARINA - DAY

Magnum pulls the speedboat into the marina.

Magnum and Viper see the ship explode in the very far
distance. By this time the ship is miles away from land.

MAGNUM
(laughs)
Now that‟s what I call “Mission
Accomplished.”

Magnum and Diesel give each other a firm handshake. Diesel

stands up with the help of Magnum then they embrace.

Magnum helps Diesel onto the dock and holds him up as they
walk.

The two are meet by a huge crowd that has gathered at the
Marina. The father from the yacht comes out of the crowd
with several officers.

DAD ON YACHT
(points to Diesel)
There he is officers, there is the
guy that took my boat.

DIESEL
Officers I can explain.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 154

POLICE COP #1
(interrupts him)
So you‟re the one that found Viper
and presumably just put him in
his grave?

DIESEL
(cautiously)
That‟s right.

POLICE COP #1
Sir, the people of Miami, heck
the people of this country owe
you a huge debt of gratitude!

The cop shakes Diesel‟s hand.

DIESEL
Thanks, I was just doing what
any other American would‟ve
done in my shoes.

MAGNUM
(yells out)
Let‟s hear it for Diesel!

The large crowd that has gathered starts going wild -

they‟re cheering, applauding, yelling out, trying to pat
Diesel and Magnum on the back; some are even dancing with
each other while others are jumping into the water to
celebrate.

Diesel and Magnum slowly walk down the dock and onto land,
the crowd follows their every step and continues to move
along with them.

Diesel and Magnum get on land, look out over the water for
a moment and try to continue catching their breath.

Then they give each other a high five and a manly hug; huge
smiles cover both of their faces.

FADE OUT
