Dr.

Hayes Wicker, Senior Pastor

Holding Hands and Sticking Together
Robert Fulghum wrote some practical advice in his famous
essay, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten:
Hold hands and stick together. That advice followed flush.
Every married person must learn how to flush out the foul
attitudes, the unforgiveness, and the hurtful words, and hold
hands and stick together in covenant Christian marriage.
Harmony is not just a website that matches singles, but we
are called to harmony in the Lord (Philippians 4:1-3).
On a golden wedding anniversary, a grandmother revealed to her grandson the
secret of her long and happy marriage: On my wedding day, I decided to choose
ten of my husbands faults that, for the sake of our marriage, I would overlook.
She was then asked to name some of those faults, but she replied: To tell the
truth, I never did get around to listing them. But whenever my husband did
something that made me hopping mad, I would say to myself, Good for him
thats one of the ten! She was holding hands and sticking to her covenant
commitment in Christian marriage: Love bears all things (1 Corinthians 13:7).
Our special guest this weekend, Dr. Charles Lowery is a nationally-known
Christian psychologist, motivational speaker, and former pastor. Whether
speaking to corporations, churches, or in seminars, he offers wonderful wit and
much practical and biblical advice concerning relationships. God wants to use
him to help us be taught by God to love one another (1 Thessalonians 4:9).
In his messages and in a Sunday evening seminar, 6:008:00pm, we will learn
more about how to hold hands and stick together.
Your marriage is worth fighting for, and your children and grandchildren need
godly role models who demonstrate the hope that the Lord can change hearts
and relationships. The harmony mentioned in Philippians 4 dealt with two
Christian womenEuodia and Syntyche. Paul was essentially asking them to
live up to the meaning of their names; Euodia meant sweet fragrance, while
Syntyche meant blessed. He was urging them to live in love by saying, Euodia,
your contentiousness is smelly; Syntyche, you are more of a blister than a
blessing. Lets hold hands and stick together. Do it for your welfare, for the
churchs unity, and for our witness to the world.
*There is a guest reception in the Commons following the Saturday night and
Sunday morning 11:00am worship services. Pastor would love to meet you!

Band-Aid Drive

Written By: Priya Hansen

(7th Grade Student at FBA)

Golisano Childrens Hospital has been a blessing not

only in my life, but in so many others lives as well.
So God put it on my heart to help them in some way
to thank them for their work. That is how the idea for
the Band-Aid Drive was born. I brought the idea of
collecting and donating latex free, character band-aids
to the staff at FBA Middle School, and they agreed!
During the first week of April, FBA Middle School
collected over 250 boxes of band-aids for the hospital.
That is around 4,000 band-aids that we were able to
donate to the hospital.
