ThiswouldgiveIranproxycontroloverthekeywaterwaytoandfromtheSuezCanal,addingtoits
alreadystrongpresenceintheGulfsStraitofHormuzthroughwhichmuchoftheworldsoilpasses.

Brotherhood.ItsroleinYementhendiminished,encouragingtheHouthistoadvancesouthand

TheHouthirunSabanewsagencyreportedonThursdaythatIranwillprovideYemenwithcrudeoil
foroneyear,andalsoestablisha165megawattpowerplant.
TheagreementwasmadeduringaHouthivisittotheIslamicrepublicafteranIraniancommercial
flightlandedinSanaaonMarch1thefirstinmanyyearsandthefruitofanaviationaccordwith

TheHouthisinsistthatIrandoesnotmeddleinYemeniaffairs.

ThestrugglecouldengulfothercountriesifRiyadhandTehrandonotsitaroundonetableand
discussopenlyallpointsofdispute,hesaid.
