Minimum Requirements

Candidate shall have bachelors degree in computer science or information systems or

minimum four years of technical experience in database administration or other technical field.

Also, required to have four or more years of database administration experience in Microsoft
SQL; two years of Linux Oracle database administration. Candidate should have sound time
management and planning skills, good oral and written communication skills; and as needed
manage small to medium size database projects in conjunction with working knowledge of
Microsoft Office products.

Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances(2005-2012)

Troubleshoot various problems that arise in a day-to-day work and fix issues

Monitoring Server Error Logs and check email alert or configure email alerts

Create Linked Servers to SQL Servers and other databases such as Oracle, Access, Mysql

Design or Enhance database Backup, Recovery Strategy, and Monitor their activities

Develop, implement, and monitor performance tuning tasks ( understand PowerShell)

Documenting changes and follow change control

Clone Development, Test, and Staging environments from Production instances

Troubleshoot and solve various problems that arise in a daily DBA lifecycle.

Execute schema and code promotions Dev ->Test ->QA ->Prod

Keep databases in synch ( replication , backup / restore , log shipping , Data Guard)

Works with application development staff in order to enforce standards, and quality
assurance policies and procedures as it pertains to accessing corporate databases Oracle
Database ( additionally to Sqlserver)

Experience in Linux or Unix operating systems

Comfortable using vi or other non-gui programs and scripts

Installation, Administration and Maintenance of Oracle Database Rel 11g 12g

Understanding and ability to navigate Oracle WEBLogic console

Understanding Oracle RAC and ability to troubleshoot is desirable

Working knowledge is a plus in various scripting languages (Perl, ksh, bash, php, JS)

Oracle ERP knowledge is a plus and R12 is highly desirable or recommended

Working knowledge of Oracle PL*SQL ( ability to write and debug)

Responsibilities include maintaining highly available database environments, achieving optimal

performance and ensuring database backup and recovery. A successful SQL Server database
administrator must possess knowledge in managing database environments with experience in

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical degree

4 - 8 years of solid SQL Server DBA experience with at least 3 years supporting 24 x 7
production databases.
Working experience in support mission critical databases is a plus.
An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience (computer science or other IT related
major preferred).

Good working knowledge with SQL Server 2005/2008R2 enterprise editions with good
understanding in database planning, performance tuning and problem resolution.
Must demonstrate practical knowledge of database internals and data structures.
Good understanding of database technology on backup and recovery, disaster recovery,
high availability, replication and security, demonstrates good skills in troubleshooting and
problem-solving.

A strong analytical background is a plus.

Good knowledge of Windows scripting languages is a plus.

Professional SQL Server certification is a plus.
