November 2013

Dear Steve & Joy,

This January from the 6th to the 17th I will be going with Delaware County Christian
School (DC) to a small village in the Dominican Republic (DR). I will be a part of the 8th team to
head to the DR from DC. God has given the teams remarkable opportunities to encourage the
believers and to teach and preach the gospel to unbelieving children and teens. This year we will
be helping to support the ongoing ministry of Dominican churches in the region west of Santo
Domingo, especially in a poor Dominican village called Juan Tomas. We will work with believers
of a mission there doing some construction work for the Christian school that the mission began
in the village that DC has had the opportunity to help build and support from its beginnings. In
the afternoons and evenings we will also work with the village children and youth in youth-camp
type ministries.
In Juan Tomas there are several thousand people spread out over a wide area. Our
ministry there has three parts. First we will be doing some work projects in and around the
village; this will include working on homes for teachers in the mission school. Second we will do
some sort of youth ministry in the afternoon or evening. This may include activities and games,
some crafts, and some Bible memorization and teaching. Finally one or two evenings we will
divide into groups and walk around the village visiting different houses. The people of the DR
are very open and will invite groups into their tiny homes and will listen and give us all of their
attention while we share what Christ has done in our lives.
One of the things that I need to do to be a part of this team is build prayer and financial
support teams to pray for me before, during and after the trip and also to help provide the funds
needed. The cost for this trip is $1,600. Would you prayerfully consider being a part in one or
both of my teams?
If you would like to be part of my prayer or financial support team, please complete the
attached form and return it to Light 2014 Mission Ministry, Delaware County Christian School,
462 Malin Rd, Newtown Square PA, 19073. Make checks payable to Delaware County Christian
School and please write my name on the memo line. All gifts will be receipted and are tax
deductible.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and considering to be a part of one or
both of my teams. If you have any questions about the project, please feel free to email me at
eccaboo@comcast.net or call (610) 945- 8304.

believers and to teach and preach the gospel to unbelieving children and teens.
