< Things to check prior to installation >

Make sure your system meets the system requirements given in the table
on the right before starting the Tellus / V-Server setup program.

Apply for necessary number of licenses and

1. Boot computer with Windows operating system.

2. Place the "SOFT MONITOUCH TELLUS and V-Server" CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.

3. The display shown on the right appears on the screen.

If the setup program does not start automatically, using the Windows Explorer,
open the CD-ROM drive and double-click Autoset.exe.

4. A dialog box opens. Click the Next button.

5. The "Select folder" dialog box opens.

If the default folder is OK, click the Next button. If you want to change the folder, click
the Browse button and select the folder in which you want to install the program.
Click the Next button.

Confirm and return PCID.

If not, enter correct PCID.

6. Installation begins. To cancel installation, click the Cancel button.

7. When installation is complete, a message is displayed asking if you want to read the README file.
Click Yes and the document file opens.

*1. Four types of licenses
Apply for the type of license that matches the functions you want to use.
If you apply for the wrong type of license and are issued a password, you must repeat the license application process.

Before using
Your license must be validated to use Soft Monitouch Tellus and V-Server. Be sure to complete the license validation procedure, after which you
will be issued a password. During the trial period until you receive your password, you may use Soft Monitouch Tellus and V-Server subject on a
limited basis as follows:

*2. PCID: Personal computer identification

A dialog box prompting you establish a password opens each time the application is started until the license validation
procedure is carried out.
*3. User ID: 1ID for a user
User identification is required when applying for additional licenses from out Web page. Be sure to keep a record of your user ID
in a safe place.

emulation and HMI modes.

License validation
License validation is restricted to one license per computer. There are four types of licenses, one for each function (see reverse side).
Check the type of license for the function(s) to be used before applying for the license(s).

[To confirm PCID]

1. Start the program from the Windows Start menu or by clicking the Tellus or V-Server icon on the
desktop.
2. The dialog box on the right opens. Click the Yes button.
3. The Password Setting dialog box opens so you can confirm the PCID.

[To set the password]

If reinstalling the application software on the same computer, the same password may be used. If reinstalling in the same computer after the
operating system has been reformatted, the PCID is changed, thus making the password invalid. In this case, you must go through the
license validation procedure again to get a new password.

1. Start the program from the Windows Start menu or by clicking the Tellus or V-Server icon on the
desktop.

If you modify the computer in which the application software is installed, the password will become invalid. In this case, you must go through
the license validation procedure again to get a new password.

3. The Password Setting dialog box opens. Type in the password issued by Hakko Electronics.
The PCID and password must match each other. This restriction cannot be passed by typing in
the Password setting issued for other computers. Type in the correct password.
