1(a) Research Problems : whether the use of Problem Based Learning (PBL)
strategies by lecture is more effective in improving student outcomes in
biodiversity compared to Problem Based Learning (PBL) strategy by audiovisual?
(b)

Research Hypotheses : The average student learning outcomes in Biodiversity are taught using a
strategy of Problem Based Learning by Lecture is more higher than using the strategy of Problem Based
Learning by Audiovisual.

(c) Research design is control group. And the method is the experimental
method, because it belongs to a quantitative research in which experimental
methods have been independent variables can be manipulated into several
levels, allowing researchers to perform treatment.
2) First step, the population is all XII IPA students at high school in DKI Jakarta.
Research areas in DKI Jakarta is determined using purposive sampling or also
called judgmental sampling where researchers determine their own samples
taken because there are certain considerations. Thus, the sample was taken is
not random, but is determined by the researcher. And obtained Central Jakarta as
area research.
Two step, determine how many high school in Central Jakarta region using
Cluster Random Sampling (CRS) and found thirteen high schools. And with
cluster random sampling again, obtained SMAN 7 as area research. All sample of
high school in Central Jakarta taken by using Cluster Random Sampling (CRS)
technique with taking lottery of all High school data in Central Jakarta and then
the researcher take the lottery in order to obtain high schools in Central Jakarta
for example SMAN 7 Central Jakarta.
At SMAN 7 Central Jakarta has some class XII IPA, sampling class XII IPA of SMAN
7 taken by using cluster random sampling (CRS) without replacement which used
paper that has been taken can be restored again to be drawn back so the
population (N) still remains, in this research required two class because it takes
two groups of samples are acquired 70 student. Two class of XII Science is 40
students in class XII IPA 1 selected randomly without seeing the name and get 35
students. And 38 students in the class XII IPA 2 randomly selected as well so we
get 35 students too. In order to obtain as much as 73 as respondents.
Sample needed in research is 35 student in each class, to get that we use
sample random sampling in each class randomly. In XII IPA 1, five random
student will be droped out so we can found 35 students that which will be
researched and in XII IPA 2, three random student will be droped out so we can
found 35 students that which will be researched as group PBL-lecture and control
group variable as PBL-audiovisual
