RMU Type A4 (with interlock) - Insertion
Locate unit position
Locate required unit position
Ensure Interlock is in the unlocked
position
Ensure main disconnector handle is
in Off position
unlock & open door fully
Ensure unit space is empty and
unobstructed

Locate unit
Position unit in its location
Align unit to slides
Ensure Interlock probe bracket is in
the unlocked position
Ensure main disconnector is in
Off position

If unit is fitted with a coding

system ensure unit and fixed
components match

Insert unit to connected position

Ensure main disconnector is in
Off position
Using the handle push the unit
to the Connected position

Make cable connections

Ensure main disconnector is in
Off position
Push\pull in cables from cable
compartment
Connect cables to equipment
according to manufacturers
instructions

Close Unit Door
Ensure main disconnector & handle
are in Off positions
Ensure Interlock and interlock probe
bracket are in the Unlocked
positions
Close door fully

Lock unit into enclosure

Unit in Connected position

Lock door in closed position
Main Disconnector at Off position
Rotate interlock to Locked position
The unit is now available for operation

The main disconnector can be

padlocked in the Off position

Check unit status
Check the unit is in Connected
position
Ensure unit door is locked in position
Ensure interlock is rotated to the
Locked position
The unit is now available for operation

Disconnector On operation
Main disconnector can now be
rotated to On position

When Main disconnector is in

On position interlock cannot be
rotated.

Disconnector Off operation

Main disconnector can now be
rotated to Off position

RMU Type A4 (with interlock) - Removal
Check unit status

Unit in Connected position

Ensure unit door is locked in position
Ensure interlock in Locked position
Ensure main disconnector is in Off
position

Open unit door

Unit in Connected position
Ensure main disconnector is in
Off position
Rotate interlock to Unlocked
position
Unlock door
Open unit door fully

Disconnect cable connections

Ensure main disconnector is in
Off position
Disconnect cables from
equipment according to
manufacturers instructions
Push\pull cables out to cable
compartment to allow free removal
of unit.

Remove unit and unlock stop lock

Ensure there are no obstructions to
removal of unit
Using the handle pull the unit
out to the stop locked position
Push and hold stoplock up to release
(bottom left side of unit)
