MAY 2015

Dress Rehearsal June 4

Picture Week
Group and individual portraits of your dancer and his or her
classes will be taken May 11-14 during regular class times.
Picture order forms will be available the night your child comes
for pictures.
You are not required to buy photos, but we ask that all
students be present for group photos. Your child should
arrive on time with hair and makeup done and the
costume on for his or her first class. Hairstyle and makeup
can be done at your discretion, however we do recommend
wearing makeup to offset heavy lighting.
Please note that no dance instruction will take place during
Picture Week. Only classes with recital dances will meet to take
pictures. Female parents of younger students are asked
to stay with their child in the changing room in the
downstairs studio to help with costume changes.
Costumes and tights will be distributed during class the week
before Picture Week. Please see your child's teacher or the
front desk if you have any additional questions.
Reminders:
Put your child's name in all of their shoes and all pieces of
their costumes.
Bring your own supply of bobby pins, safety pins, hair
spray, and other extra necessities.
Only females are allowed in the changing rooms. All males
should stay in the designated waiting area.
Tights must be worn by ALL female dancers.
Temporary tattoos, jewelry and headpieces not included in
costumes, and underwear under tights are NOT allowed.

Recital Tickets
Recital tickets will go on sale at the studio Saturday, May
9 from 12-2 p.m. Your account MUST be up-to-date
before you can purchase tickets.
After Ticket Day, tickets will be sold during regular studio
hours until the end of the year. Tickets are $12 in advance
and $15 at the door the day of recital.

Students in Miss Jaana's Monday 5 p.m. class and Miss

Jaanas Wednesday 5 p.m. class should arrive at the
Ritenour Auditorium at 5:00 p.m. Because these classes
do not participate in the finale, we will run through their
dances first. We will be finished around 6 p.m., at which time
you are free to leave, although you may watch the remainder
of the rehearsal with your child.
Production will be run 6 p.m.6:30 p.m.
All other classes should arrive by 6 p.m. in full costume
and ready to dance by 6:30 p.m. The recital rotation will be
handed out before rehearsal so your child will know which
costume to wear first. We will begin by running through the
finale together and then continue through the rotation in
order. Your child can change in the dressing room assigned
to her class. Costumes must be taken home with you at the
end of each night and brought back the next day.
Dancers can sit in the audience with their parents in between
their dances and are free to leave after their last dance.
Attendance trophies will be awarded on rehearsal night.

Recital June 5 & 6 at 7 p.m.

All dancers should arrive promptly at 6:30 p.m. in full
costume. The same show will be performed both nights, and
all students should be present to perform at both shows.
Check your child's bag before coming each night to be sure
all costumes, accessories, and shoes are present. Hair must
be pulled up and out of the face. Makeup can be done at
your discretion but is encouraged to offset stage lighting.
After dropping off your child backstage, you may find your
seat in the auditorium. Parent volunteers and teachers will
be backstage to help your child, so please enjoy the show!
Dancers should remain backstage during intermission.
Parents are not permitted backstage during the show. After
the show, please send ONE parent backstage to pick up
your child.
Students in Miss Jaana's Monday 5 p.m. class and Miss
Jaanas Wednesday 5 p.m. class will be finished dancing
after the first half of the show and should be picked up
backstage during intermission. You are then free to watch
the rest of the show with your child.
If your account is not up to date, your child will not be able to
perform in the recital. Please see your child's teacher or the
front desk if you have questions about recital.
