JEWELLERS ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA LIMITED (JAA) June 2006 – 2009

• Successfully negotiated partnership arrangements with Marsh Insurance to re-


establish JAA Insurance Brokers arm of the JAA.
• Orchestrated and managed the publication of “The Official OPAL Guide to
Sydney”, including coordination of member participation, advertising, and
distribution.
• Introduced new strategic partnerships – Macquarie Collections, Signature
Security Group, Platinum Freight, Australian Air Express and People Telecom –
to the association.
• Organised partnership arrangements with Carbine Media for the creation and
production of the annual Carbine/JAA Year Planner.

BILLEXPRESS (Subsidiary of ONQ Group) (NSW) January 2006 – April 2006

• Successfully completed contractual undertaking as the liaison link with


newsagents, to extend the national network for the BillEXPRESS technology
package. The project, now complete, was an adjunct to the e-commerce solution
I commenced at the Australian Newsagents’ Federation (refer second bullet point
below).

Business Development Manager

• Successfully contracted agency arrangements with Western Union (a First Data


company) and orchestrated rollout of the Western Union International money transfer
service through selected newsagents nationwide. This was Western Union’s first
foray into the Australian market and the Newsagency network is still an important part
of Western Union’s coverage in this country.
• Conceived, sourced and implemented a national e-commerce solution for
newsagents including “over the counter” bill payment system, prepaid phone card
top-ups, electronic travel tickets and smart card applications. Formed alliance
partnership with key players from finance and technology sectors, and negotiated
contractual arrangements. National rollout to 1,000 members of the ANF completed
December 2003.
• Sourced and negotiated agreement to broadcast live satellite radio into
newsagencies throughout Australia. The newsagents’ own in-store radio is “beamed”
out of Melbourne studios off the Optus Hotbird satellite directly into member’s stores
24 hours a day.
• Negotiated contract with Telstra for commission/rebate system flowing from sales of
Phonecards and Phoneaway cards through members nationally.
• Successfully tendered for ATO contract to distribute/display essential tax forms in
newsagencies nationwide.
• Researched, prepared and presented industry submission on the Postal Bill
Amendment Act to the senate committee.
• Negotiated arrangements with stake holders and implemented ANF Industry
Superannuation Plan for Members and their staff.
• Implemented proper accounting processes by introducing MYOB and establishing
the necessary budgeting, approval and reporting systems including profit centres.
• Formulated and implemented business plans, budgets and cash flow forecasts for
the Board.

• Re-organised operation through key staffing appointments/training and development


of business/marketing plans which firmly established the “new bank in town”.

• Wrote $82 million in new lending business for financial year ended June 1996,
exceeding target by $22 million.

BANK OF NEW ZEALAND (N.Z, Fiji & Australia) 1982–1995

• Progress through the bank included responsibilities throughout N.Z. Fiji and Australia.
