moved to Park View Haven in Coleridge. I
miss seeing everyone so I really enjoy
hearing from you!
Your friend,
Bob Strivens

school or college? We would like to

there will be a reception in the Fellowship
Hall. You are all invited to join us and
share your plans for the future. Bring a
friend to worship and celebrate with you.

(we can scan it in seconds) or email a
picture of yourself to
midgehe@cableone.net. Watch for more
information!

The Garden Clubs next cleanup day is Wednesday, May 6,

@ 5pm. We will continue
planting as needed and make
decisions on new pots for the
front doors. Gardeners are welcome and
can come when it fits into their schedule
earlier or later. If you have questions,
please contact Diane Sobotka @ 402-8410181 or email dsobotka@gmail.com.
Everyone is invited to help!

Lutheran
World
Relief

Teach a person to sew and youve

given them tools they can use to earn
an income, support their family, and
break out of poverty. Many of the
thousands of Fabric Kits Lutheran
World Relief distributes are used in
vocational training programs to teach
young men and women useful and
marketable sewing skills.
During the months of April and May, we
will be collecting Fabric (Sewing) Kits for
Lutheran World Relief. Watch for the
washtub in the west hallway to pick up an
information sheet and/or leave your
completed kits.

St. John's families: get your kids & their

friends signed up for summer camp with
NLOM this summer! Talk with Pastor Justin
for more information about how you can go
to Carol Joy Holling Camp near Ashland for
just $50! Check out all the options online
at http://www.caroljoyholling.org.

MOSAIC MONDAY @ PIZZA HUT

Pizza Hut has generously offered to donate
a portion of their proceeds to Mosaic to help
provide meaningful lives for people with
disabilities in Northeast Nebraska. Dine in or
carry out at Pizza Hut and mention Mosaic and
10% of your meal total will be donated to
Mosaic.
Either location: 910 W. Benjamin Ave OR
506 S. 25th St., Norfolk

CLEAN-UP
OPPORTUNITIES
The Tidy-Up Crew will be
at St. Johns on Monday,
May 4, at 8:30am. If
youre a fast worker, you
will be able to help with the Fellowship Hall
Kitchen clean-up @ 9am! Everyone welcome
and bring your tool of choice.

Please lift up Aline Skogstoe in your prayers as

she has been offered and accepted a YAGM
(Young Adults in Global Mission) position in
the United Kingdom. After several interviews
in Chicago, she will return a final time on
August 19 for orientation before flying to the
UK on August 26. From a field of 254
applicants, 79 were accepted and 14 assigned
to the UK.
A year of service through the Young Adults
in Global Mission program invites young adults
to become the hands and feet of Jesus in the
world, providing critical support to ministries
and projects in communities of need. It also
invites volunteers into a journey of selfreflection, providing space to consider their
sense of identity, Gods work in the world, and
their place within it all.
Watch for information about a sending
service later this summer.

Thank you so much to Pastor Justin and all

members of St Johns who either worked
and/or attended the Ham Dinner this
past Sunday. Approximately $2500 was
raised for the Mennonite Disaster Fund.
Thank you for the contributions. Without
all the support and effort this would not
have been possible.

May Friendship Day

WELCA will again be collecting

Campbell Soup Labels and Box
Tops for Education to donate to
Mosaic. These programs enable
the special education program,
which has 25 students, to receive
free educational equipment and learning
materials for their classrooms. To support
these projects, interested people need only to
save and send box tops and Campbell soup
UPC labels.
We are always very grateful for the
support of caring people who have given so
freely of their time and talents to help Mosaic
at Bethphage Village provide quality lives for
those who live in our community.
Look for the green basket in the west hallway
to drop your labels. Thank you for your
contributions!
