Rationale
Research shows that one third of the population today belongs to the
extremely poor families which are almost 32.6 million in the Philippines. Poverty
is one of biggest issue of the country; no doubt that it is also one of the biggest
factors why there are almost 5.2 million school-aged children that are not going
to school. Many children are willing and eager to go to school but have no
means of doing so. Thus, some end up working at. a very early age. Others just
stay at home and do nothing. While others result to unjust and illegal ways of
obtaining money just to survive. Poverty does not only affect the poor, it also
atfects every individual in this country. lt is therefore evident that something hasl
to be done to put a stop to these very alarming situations. We have to answer
the cry of the poor.
Couples for Christ, with its mission of Building the Church of the Poor,
answers to this call of the Lord to'help and make a difference in the lives of our
poor brethren through our social ministry ANCOP (ANswering the Cry Of the
Poor).
Youth for Christ, being a ministry of CFC, also responds by being involved
in one of ANCOP's programs which is Education. YFC believes that it is the right
of every youth to have proper education. YFC aims not only to send youths to
school but also to make sure that they become better and more Christ-centered
individuals.
This module will be the initial values formation for the scholars. lt will
allow them to appreciate their scholarship, encourage them tq strive to maintain it
and star:t embracing a dignified and Christ-centered way of living. This will also
be an opportunity to evangelize, push the students to deepen their relationship
with God and be active in the community.

Are stubborn
To be stubborn means to refuse to comply, or agree to something. We
know we are meant to be blessed but we often fail to do what the Lord wants in
order for us to receive His blessings. This scholarship will teach us diligence and
perseverance. lt will make us realize how our dreams can be achieved if only we
work hard for it.
Compare
We sometimes fail to see our own blessings because we're too busy
observing and comparing ourselves with the blessings of others. We often have
this tendency to think that the Lord loves others more than He loves us.
Everyone is loved by God and there's no need to compare. Let us learn to see
how the Lord is working in our lives. Focus on our own blessings and our calling
as a student. This scholarship should make us realize that no matter what our
circumstances are the Lord will always give us what we need in His time.
Don't believe
We often fail to see the blessings because we believe that it is impossible
or that it is not for us. Believe that you are deserving of this scholarship. Believe
that you are destined of what you desire in the future (to be nurse, teacher,
etc.). Believe because God is preparing something special in His plan for you.
How to respond to God's generosity?
The Lord has His blessings ready for us to receive. lt is ready to be given in His own
perfect timing. As receivers of His wondrous grace, let us have a grateful heart in order for us to
be fully aware of the Lord's generosity. As receivers of this wonderful scholarship, let us always:
Give your best. As students, we are required to listen, learn and comply with
requirements but since we are scholars, our effort must be doubled because
we know that this is a gift from God. By giving our best in our studies, we
respond to God's generosity and love to us.
Take care of this gift. lt's not enough that we respond and give our best; we
must take good care of the chance given to us. Let us take care of this gift by
seeking to grow more in it. More than just getting high grades, it should also
motivate us to grow in our person. Seek to know more and be more than
what you think you can do.

INTRODUCT!ON
God has a specific mission for all of us. Every day he gives us the opportunity to fulfill
our purpose through doing His mission so that we will experience a life that is full. As part of
His plan for us to live a full life, He blesses us with the gift of our scholarship. Through this, we
are able to experience His love by allowing us to experience opportunities that help us develop
and grow into being the best children we can be for Him.
Because of the great and generous love that we have received from Him, our response
is to live our according to His plan by being a blessing through the lives of others. Through our
scholarship, our mission is now to be a blessing to our family, friends, and country. The
fulfillment of our mission can be greatly affected by the choices that we make through our
scholarship.
SEEMINGLY A BURDEN
The choices that we make in our present life, whether big or small, have big impact on
the future that we will face. There are times that the pressure we feel in decision making may
lead us to weak or not well thought off choices. ln this scholarship, we are given a very
important decision to make. The course that we choose now is very important in the fulfillment
of God's plan. lt is important for us to realize how we can be wrongly influenced through:
As youth, we tend to greatly value the opinion of our friends, sometimes to the
point that it has more weight or equal to that of our parents. We want to know what they
choose because we simply want to enjoy the next phase of our lives with them.
This may lead us to decide based on impulse without thinking if the course is truly or
meant for us or if it is giving us opportunity to amplify our strength. These kinds of decisions
often lead us to a late realization of the weakness in our decision, making us to feel
unmotivated in what we are studying.
We must decide because it is what we want, it is what we are good at, and it is
where we can glorify God the most. Our decisions should be based not on others but on our
own interests, skill, and desire.
A yearning
While it is true that the conditions we are in can put a burden on our choices, it is also a
fact that these different factors can also be a vital element in being a blessing to our lives. We
will only realize the greatness of God's plan and experience the fullness of our life if we realize
that each aspect can be a blessing and a contributing factor to a great future that is ahead of us.
Let us realize the blessing in:
OURPARENTS
Throughout our academic life, we may often see our parents as a burden or pressure
in what we do. Some of us may tend to view them as too controlling and demanding,
leading us to want to be on our own. Some may tend to view them as passive or
uncaring when it comes to what we do and how we are.
Our parents always want what's best for us. Their actions, though misunderstood,
are motivated by the love, care and support they want to give us so we can be
successful. Let us learn to be more understanding and appreciative of how they are
taking care and loving us. Taking on a different point view and seeing through a loving
and understanding perspective can help us realize the meaning behind their actions.
OUR FRIENDS
are
Our academic life can be enjoyable in the company of friends. However, there
times that we allow them to influence us in the negative w?y, or allow
misunderstandings to remove our focus from our bigger goal of graduating. lnstead of
them being good examples of honesty and loyalty, we tend to see them as people that
tempt us to cheat, or compromise what we do in school. We sometimes even tolerate
them to be rule breakers and promoters of wrong values.
Our friends were given to us an instrument for us to experience God's
encouragement and support especially throughout our difficulties in life. They're
sources of joy, security, and motivation especially when there is too much for us to
handle in our academic life.
OURCOUNTRY
We fail to recognize the role our country plays in our studies because we focus
on the negative aspects that we see and hear about it. We become unaware of the
richness that our country has to offer, because we focus on the shame we feel due to
the corruption and poverty that we are experiencing.
Our country is rich with history, influences, and culture creating us to be who we
are known today. We are known to be friendly, hardworking and creative giving us an
edge throughout different areas in the world. Let us also realize that it is through our
studies that we can be equipped to help in the development of our nation.
As we recognize the role that our family, friends and country play in our studies, we gain
motivation to perform in our best capacity and have the right motivation to gain good grades
that will enable us to achieve hope. This hope wilt help us change the lives of others, as we
become evangelizers in our own way, allowing them to experience overflowing abundance.
coNcrusroN
As we take on the challenge to be Christian scholars, a wide range of chances come to
embrace us, giving us the unexplainable moments that leave a mark in our lives. These
moments will carry us through our path providing enough strength and inspiration to sustain
our journey. Soon, we will realize that these blessings lead us to experience the fulfillment of
God's plan in our lives as well as in the lives of others.

INTRODUCTION
The privilege to be ANCOP scholars challenges us to give our best in attaining good grades
and maintaining the standards needed by our scholarship. We have realized how being at our
best pushes us to realize how our dreams can become a reality.
God has given us unique skills and talent as an aid in making our dreams a reality. More so,
we were given the intelligence to answer the demand that our schools have. We have a lot to
acquire and develop to maintain the intelligence we have to fully use its potential that we can
be as competitive as we can be and maintain our scholarship. We have to have the right mind
and heart to fully understand the blessing that was bestowed upon us that we not only fulfill
what is asked of us but becoming witnesses of God's love and generosity to others.
Becoming ANCOP scholars made us realize how loved and special we are in the eyes of
God. This scholarship allows us to see that there is more to this than it being God's personal gift
to us. There is a greater purpose of being a blessing to others. ln order to fulfill the greater
purpose of this scholarship, we must understand the purpose of our own intelligence. The
ability to achieve and be a blessing to other's lives comes when we realize that our intelligence
was given to us in order to:
a)
Achieve our dreams for ourselves, for our families, and for our country
God provides every necessary tool for us to reach our dreams and finish our
journey. Our intelligence was given that we might achieve something in life. He wants
that our achievements work towards the greater plan that He has for us, allowing us to
experience His overflowing abundance and the fullness of life. Our intelligence gives us
the urge to dedicate ourselves in seeking for meaning and reaching our goals. An
achievement we can be proud of and be thankful to God for are those that are in line
with what God wants and how we can be blessings to others.
b)
Create
'
As we run towards our goal and be the best that we can, our intelligence was
designed that we create ideas, discover concepts, strategies, or improvements in order
for others to experience God's love and generosity. lt was also given so that we can
create ideas, situations and circumstances, materials and instruments that wilf allow
others to see, feel, taste, hear and experience God's bounty and kindness.
c)
Serve
More than just this being a gift to us, our intelligence was given to us by God to
be a blessing to others through our service. Serve our family when they need our skill
and talents. Serve our brothers and sister when they need our knowledge and wisdom.
Serve our friends when they need our ability. Serve our country when it needs our
capability.
ATTITU DES TOWARDS OU R INTETLIGENCE
a)
Not proud but be humble - our intelligence was not given to us to be boastful
and look to others as inferior but to be humble that God gave us talents and skills
because he loves us. We have nothing to be proud of but his generosity and love. "lt is
necessary that He increase but I decrease." -John 3:30
Not envy but share - do not compare your self. Everyone is unique. Envy will be
b)
in our heart if we desire more what God desires for us. No one is less and everyone has
something to share. "Serve one another with the gifts each of you received, thus
becoming good managers of the varied Braces of God." - 1 Peter 4:10
Not to hide but show - why we improve if we don't want it to show? Our talents
c)
and gifts should not be hidden but should be a sign of God's greatness. By that others
will be inspired to improve their talents and skills also.
Not to seek self satisfaction but God's - it is being attuned to the Spirit of God
d)
always. That we desire nothing but God and we show ourselves as an instrument of God
and mirror of grace. Many talented people rise up in career and fame but end up
unhappy because from the very start, they please themselves. Human desires are
endless but if we desire always God and experience Him, we will find peace and true
happiness. "One thing I ask of the Lord, one thing I seek - that I may dwell in his house
allthe days of my life." - Psalm 27:4
People have high expectation towards scholars. They give off an impression that they
are special and have the ability to achieve great things. They expect the best from us always. lt
may appear as a pressure but we should take it as a challenge. Though world may expect
achievements, God expects more than just that. As ANCOP scholars, we take on the bigger
challenge of being a Christian Scholar. This means that as we strive to be good students, we aim
to be good Christians as well. We do this through the values of:
Honesty
Cheating has become the most rampant habit among students. lt's a means to
pass subjects, gain honor, or be the top in class. As ANCOP students, we value honesty.
We believe that staying to true in what we do is a more honorable achievement
compared to gaining worldly honor. Having good grades coming from cheating is like
fooling your parents, teachers, and all who believe in you. You don't only fool them but
technically you fool yourself when you cheat and you dishonor God. Our challenge is to
initiate honesty amongst everyone and reflect the virtue of truthfulness.
Faith in God
strong belief in Him. Have faith and believe that throughout our academic life God will
not give us anything beyond our strength.
Endurance
As ANCOP students and Christian sons and daughters, every aspect of our lives will
tested, and trained through different situations and circumstances that we will be
facing. There are times that we will even fail in our own expectations including the
people that look up to us. Our academic life may take most of our time but what we
need to have a patient and enduring heart. As Christian Scholars, we have God's
strength and Holy Spirit to rely on, helping us move forward towards our goals.
Commitment
The scholarship is a commitment that we have with our parents, with CFC
ANCOP, and with God. ln our years of schooling, the scholarship will not assure us a
smooth sailing journey. We will often deal with challenges that may seem far more
than our own capacity. As ANCOP scholars, knowing that this is a privilege and a gift
moves us to fully commit and give our allto this opportunity. Our goal and dreams will
remind us to stay true to our commitment, knowing that God is with us all throughout
this journey.
coNctustoN
lntelligence is a gift given to us as our tool and instrument in making our journey as
ANCOP scholars a fruitful and meaningful one. Using this properly in God's purpose will allow
us to achieve our dreams, and be blessings to others. As we fully understand and use our
intelligence in its full capacity, we allow God to use as instruments for His greater purpose.

lntroduction
We are blessed to be in the situation we are in, we might not come from a wealthy
family but we are blessed to be given this privilege of scholarship. lt is a gift and an
opportunity for us to finish our studies. Our highest calling is to finish our studies
because we know that this will be a great assurance that we will have bigger
opportunities after graduation. We will be able to help our families while we are
studying through part time jobs or starting up a small business wherein we can
assist in our family's financial need and to uplift our family.
As college students, we are facing a new phase of life and we are sure that we will
face new challenges than we were in high school. But, we know that this journey
will not be easy we need to have the right posture for us to be able to go through
and see how God can open more doors for us.

As early as now, we can find ways to earn money in which we can help
ourselves, our parents and for us to be prepared for the work that awaits us in the
future. We may be working student, business partner or can do tutorials, anything
that will make our available time worthwhile.
As we do this, here are some practical tips for us to be guided:
We must come to work on time and we should be responsible with our actions and
behavior. We have to value our job so that we can be responsible in keeping up with the
projects given to us.
We should also take the initiative and have the motivation to get the job done in a
reasonable period of time.
3.
Adaptability
and adapting personal behaviors to accommodate others is part of what it takes to work
effectively as a team. By viewing change as an opportunity to complete work assignments in a
more efficient manner, adapting to change can be a positive experience. New strategies, ideas,
priorities, and work habits can foster a belief among workers that management and staff are
both committed to making the workplace a better place to work.
5. Honesty and lntegrity
We must maintain a sense of honesty and integrity above all else. Good relationships
are built on trust. When working for an employer they want to know that they can trust what
you say and what you do. Successful businesses work to gain the trust of customers and
maintain the attitude that "the customer is always right". lt is the responsibility of each person
to use their own individual sense of moral and ethical behavior when working with and serving
others within the scope of their job.
6. Motivated to Grow & Learn
7. Strong Self

Professionals complete high quality work and are detail oriented. Professional behavior includes

are enthusiastic about their work and optimistic about the organization and its future. To
become a professional you must feel like a professional and following these tips is a great start
to getting to where you want to go.
9. Loyalty
We must be loyal because employers value employees they can trust and who exhibit
their loyalty to the company. Loyalty means being absolutely true to all at all times in all and any
circumstances. By being loyal, you become more committed to the job and you can do more
and even best.

make promises every day. Sometimes we give something to another
person as a sign of our promise; sometimes we sign our name to seal our promise, other times
we just give our word to another person that we will do something. People make promises
every day. Do they always keep their promises? Unfortunately, some people don't. God makes
promises too. The Bible is full of God's promises. Does God always keep his promises? yes he
does! As the Bible says, "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are 'yes' in
Christ. (2 Cor. 1:20). Jesus came to earth to fulfill the promises of God. All of God's promises are
fulfilled in him. As we write one by one our promises on the board, God is on His way of fulfilling
it so the next time we run through it we can cross it off. As He promise, He coupled it with
fulfillment because His plans if far better than ours. So wouldn't it be great if you and I were as

TAIK OUTLINE:
INTRODUCTION
Every journey is meant
ln the Bible we heard countless promises of the Lord. The story of Abraham, Moses,
lsaac and Jacob is the realization of God's faithfulness to a promise (the speoker will cite their
stories to the participants). lt is a reminder that God has wonderful plans for all of us, and have
so many blessings in store for us, even when we are faced with difficult circumstances. ln
Jeremiah 29:11 is a promise of a personal blessing and a reminder to hold on to God's promise
because the Lord knows exactly what future He desires for us. Hence, He wants us to desire and
claim that promise in our lives by:
a.
It is in His words that we learn the value of God's promise but it is in living it out that we
put more meaning to it. When we claim the promise of the Lord, He is asking us to act upon
His words and carry the message by living in it.
b.
As we pray daily, we communicate with God daily. With that, we can lift our concerns to
Him, listen to His voice and know His will. As students, prayer is essential to ask the Holy
Spirit to be with us, to give us knowledge and other gifts of the Holy Spirit. Maybe some of
us are fond of having a diary because we want to remember the important moments in our
life; we also list down the moments where we felt God; we write the things that we learned
and God's messages in every situation of our life. Reflecting will help us a lot. We can draw
out the positive side of things that indeed everything happens for a reason. lt will also help
us evaluate our thoughts, words and deeds if it is still pleasing to God.
CONNECTING TO HIS BIGGER FAMILY
We are blessed to receive a gift from God - our education and our community. The primary
motivation of giving gifts is relationship - that is what God desires from us. The greatest
expression of gratitude is committing to have a personal relationship with God and taking
part in His community. We will glorifu God wholeheartedly if we put our gratitude in an
outward action and what better way to experience it in the community of believers.
llt.
To bring back glory to God, it will be manifested in dealing with other people especially
those that are close to us. The people around us are gifts from God at the same time the
people that God entrusted to us to take good care of. These are the people that make or
break us, and the people that we make or break. We all play a role to each other. Since we
know that we are blessed, we will be a blessing to them.
What are the ways we can share our blessings to others?
Serve them
serving is giving your best you have to offer to please God. lt will appear in
many ways. lt can be serving your family through voluntarily working without being asked.
Teaching your classmates how to answer your home works. Participating in school and
government activities without expecting a pay.
Have fellowship with them - lt is spending time with our family, friends and with other
people. ln doing so, we will see the importance of each other and how God work in every
person. Knowing other people deepens our underStanding in life. Nothing is more
important in life than to enjoy every moment of it because every moment that has passed
will never go back. What makes life so enjoyable is to live with the people you love and
loves you. There is no perfect person or family but only perfect moments with them.
Being an example to them - we bless others if we are able to set as an example to them.
Especially in school, by doing good, for instance not cheating during exams, we please God
and we bless others by showing them the right way.
Leading them to God - the real blessing that we have is having God in our tives! ln order
to be a blessing to others, we should share God to them. Bringing our family and friends in
church, initiating to pray before meals or snacks, and just simply sharing how generous
and good our God is. Life testimony is powerful than lecture.

Bringing back the glory to God is just sharing what He has given. We have nothing to
give that is not from Him. Glorifliing Him takes a decision, commitment and love. Glorifying
our mighty God is the best we can use for our life! He deserves it! We must live in Him and for
Him because He is worthy because He is God
