Amelia is a 1 and half year old. She is regular and belongs to Australian family.

she's inquisitive and has endless energy, but needs your attention and to be reassured
regularly
she is very attached to you, and may be fearful of strangers
she resists being separated from you
she loves interacting with adults and particularly enjoys playing repetitive games
she can play alongside other children but isn't yet able to interact or share with them
she loves to copy those around her - talking on the phone, carrying a baby
she isn't flexible in her approach to tasks - there is a 'right' and 'wrong' way to do things
and she wants to do it the 'right' way
she is becoming fussier about the food she eats - at this time, some toddlers refuse to try
any new foods at all and reject many of the old favourites
her memory is improving - she can remember and copy past events

Analysis of learning

Amelia has the ability to recognise the images in the books as well as the toys and repeat
their names. She is able to speak clearly without any problem. However, she has less
attention span and gets easily distracted by a nearby loud voice and runs away from such
situations.

Extension of learning
Amelia seems to enjoy colourful books and toys. Her skills can be enhanced by
more big and colourful toys such as animals , cars
books with colourful images and drawing
colours and colour books to develop the motor skills

It was disappointing to watch Mathew today hit another kid. Mathew was holding a
colouring sheet and throwing all the colours. The kid came and picked one colour.
Mathew grew so angry that she hit the kid.

Physical

He has good locomotive and motor

skills. He has strong control over her


limbs and is rather aggressive.
Social

He shows a lack of little pro social


behaviour. He is usually disinterested
and threatens other kids. He needs
care and better understanding of social
behaviour.

He is not focused. He picked the


colours and threw them and did not do
any drawing. He does not come
regularly. He needs emotional help
and support.

He has a low attention span. he is

Analysis of learning

Mathew is a strong boy with good locomotive and motor skills. However his cognitive,
emotional and social growth is not at par with his physical development. He is at
telegraphic sentences stages when by now he should have reached over generalisation
phase of language. He has trouble with sharing and attention.
He needs help in development of language. He is clearly upset about something. The
issue needs to be discussed with parents. Perhaps his late language development has
caused a low self esteemed due to which his cognitive, emotional and social
development is suffering.

Extension of learning Mathew likes colours. He however needs help with acquiring
language. The condition will be discussed with parents to analyses their behaviour and
Mathew behaviour's at home. A number of methods will be used to develop his language
skills and other skills such as
communicating exclusively with him

song and poem singing
appreciating and applauding him
building his confidence
praising him when he shares things
