Missed quizzes will not be made up. The grade received at the end of that chapter will be given to any
missed quizzes during that chapter. Chapter test include content from missed quizzes.

Warm-ups (Diarios):
Each class period will begin with a warm-up that reviews a current concept.
Warm-ups will be collected periodically & entered as classwork.
Participation:
Two forms of evaluation will be used in order to determine your class participation grade:
1. A Tarjeta- Tarjetas (flashcards) will be used as a random participation system. When your name
card is called, you will be expected to participate in some form. It is important that you pay
attention in class so that you know where we are and what we are doing at the time your card is
called. Passing your turn is an automatic 0 for that particular round of participation. At the end of
each 6-week grading period, the points are totaled for a grade.
2. Sellos- Sellos (ink stamps) will be used as a volunteer participation system. Sellos are
handed out to students who wish to participate by raising their hand. At the end of every two
weeks, they are collected and totaled for a grade.
Evaluation:
Grades will be determined using the following weighted scale:
Tests/Quizzes =
50%
Homework/Classwork =
20%
Participation =
15%
Projects =
15%
Absences:
If you are absent from class, you have 2 days per absence to turn in any make-up work/homework
and/or make up a missed chapter test.
It is your responsibility to take care of making up missed work or tests and scheduling the time to do
so with me.
Academic Integrity:
Academic integrity is an important quality to establish and maintain as a high school student preparing for the
post-secondary world. Students are expected to complete their own work using their own learning
experiences on homework, class work, projects, and tests. In order to promote and ensure this level of
academic integrity during testing, students will be asked to place their personal belongings in front of the
classroom away from their desks and their phones on top of their tables out of hands reach. If a student is
caught cheating during a testing situation, he/she will receive an automatic zero on the test and an Academic
Integrity Referral will be sent to his/her counselor.
Classroom Rules:
In addition to the rules stated in the Student Handbook (this includes attendance, tardiness, dress code,
discipline and academic honesty standards), you will be expected to adhere to the following class rules:
1. Come to class prepared with necessary materials (paper, pencil/pen, and notebook).
2. Be seated when the tardy bell rings.
