SCENARIO;
You are a recently appointed consultant with the Emirates Group. You are
required to help the group further build on their competitive advantage.
Choose a department of your choice/currently working for and complete the
following tasks.
Task 2 INDIVIDUAL REPORT
LO2: Be able to develop plans for own area of responsibility to
implement operational plans
1.5- Write objectives, which are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and
time- based to align people and other resources in an effective and efficient
way.
1.4- Design plans which promote goals and objectives for your own
departments/areas of responsibilities
1.6- Implement appropriate systems to achieve objectives in the most
efficient way, on time, to budget and meeting organizational standards of
quality

1.12- Carry out a risk assessment in accordance with the legislation,
regulations and organizational / hotel requirements
1.13- Demonstrate that health and safety regulations and legislation
applicable in specific departments of the hotel are correctly and effectively
applied
1.14- Carry out a systematic review of organizational health and safety
policies and procedures at the hotel in order to ensure they are effective and
compliant
1.15- Carry out practical application of health and safety policies and
procedures at the hotel
Guidelines for Task 2
1.5 For your chosen department write one corporate aim and one objective
within the limitations of the department (customers, time, ethical and legal
requirements)
1.4 Provide details on plans to achieve the objective highlighting the
possible risks and contingency plans
1.6 Provide details on which systems can be implemented to achieve the
objectives on time and to budget
1.7 - Provide details on how the activities will be carried out by providing a
work based structure, gantt chart and network mapping
1.8 Explain TQM and how quality systems will assist in achieving your set
objective.
1.9 Provide information on how your chosen department can monitor and
evaluate the quality systems
1.10 - Recommend a change within your department keeping in mind the
organisational objectives. Explain how this change can be implemented.
1.11 How will the change undertaken in P10 impact the stakeholders
(shareholders, members, employees, customers, suppliers, environment)
Guidelines for 1.12-115:

You will need to carry out a risk assessment of your department and
include all the 5 steps of risk assessment. Refer to the risk assessment
handouts/ guidelines that will be provided to you to determine what
needs to be assessed.

Explain with evidence whether your department is following regulations

or not, if followed are they applied correctly and effectively

Provide details on how the recommendations given as part of the risk

assessment can be carried out effectively.
