Why do you want to keep the woman in your life happy?
Selfishly, if you keep her happy, she will keep you happy.
Tell her she’s important and that you love it when she is
happy. Then ask her what you can do right now or today
to give her pleasure. It might be doing the grocery shop-
ping or taking the kids for an hour after work. It might be
giving her time to herself. It might be making sure there
is gas in her car. It might be a five-minute talk or a 30-
minute walk. It might mean making her some hot tea or
bringing her a glass of wine.

And 21 other truths you should know to enjoy a lifetime of Effortless Success
Women have not been taught to ask for what they want.
They’ve been told that asking is selfish and therefore bad,
so they leave you guessing. The problem with guessing
is that you have lots of opportunity to guess wrong...
And that’s no fun. You stop guessing because it feels like
you are always wrong. No one wants to be wrong.
Tell her that you don’t want to guess how to please her.
Teach the woman in your life to coach you. Tell her that
you want to know more of what she wants than what she
doesn’t want. Ask her to make one request of you each
day for one month.

MiMi Paris, Ph.D., CSP, MCC, is an internationally recognized com-
munications professional. Her unique perspective and style help
others discover how effortless success can be. She has an amazing
ability to get to core issues quickly and efficiently. Her clients often
say, “Wow, that was easy!”
Life was not always “effortless” for this author. Ms. Paris was born

years in foster homes. Then, when she was five years old, she was
sent to live with her biological father. She has never met her mother.
Surprisingly, she shows a spirit that few do. Unlike many who turn
to bitterness and all that it brings, Ms. Paris demonstrates a positive
excitement about life.
In business for herself since 1987, Ms. Paris enjoys partnering with
high-achievers in progressive organizations that believe in devel-
oping people. MiMi Paris is available for speak-
ing engagements from high school events to cor-
porate retreats.
