INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the AutoCAD2011 .We have work diligently to bring you a book that takes you
through the core features and functionality of AutoCAD2011 from the both the design and
documentation perspectives.
The development team has been listening to the needs of users and has delivered tools and
features in this release that have been desired by many from the beginning. We now have
tools that make drafting much easier than before, new control of engineering systems
display, work sharing enhancement, and many other new features.
The book is written in five times, the first of which covers general functionality that is useful
for all disciplines. You will find suggestions throughout the book for including features and
components in your project templates. The first part does not cover every pick and click
available in the software; it approaches the use of CAD from best-practices standpoint,
which we hope will inspire to think about ways to make AutoCAD2011 work best for you.
Any topics not covered were not omitted to imply that they are unimportant but simply
because you can find information about these features in documentation provided by
Autodesk and in the

you can create a series of contiguous line segments. Each segment is a line object that can
be edited separately.

Close :
Ends the last line segment at the beginning of the first line segment, which forms a closed
loop of line segments. You can use Close after you have drawn a series of two or more
segments.

Undo: Erases the most recent segment of a line sequence.

Entering u more than once backtracks through line segments in the order you created them.

ERASE : Removes objects from a drawing.

Select the objects to erase, right-click in the drawing area, and click Erase.

Command: ERASE

UNDO : Reverses the effect of commands. (CTRL+Z)

Undoes the specified number of preceding operations. The effect is the same as entering u
multiple times.
REDO : Reverses the effects of previous UNDO or U command. (CTRL+Y)
With no commands active and no objects selected, right-click in the drawing area and choose Redo.

F2 --- Autocad Text Window

ORTHO : F8
Th e ortho command allows you to draw lines at right angles only. When ever you are using
the pointing device to specify the next point, the movement of the rubberband line connected
to the cursor is either horizontal (parallel to the X-axis)or vertical (parallel to the y-axis

OOPS Sometimes you unintentionally erase some object from the screen and
when you discover the error.you want to correct it by restoring the erased object. The
oops command is used in such situations.
After Erase Command Oops Working (Only Single Chance )

LINE THREE METHODS

1.Polar Co-Ordinate System
2. Relative Co-Ordinate System (2d&3d)
3. Absolute Co-Ordinate System (2d&3d)
POLAR CO-ORDINATE SYSTEM :
Its can be located by definining the distance of the point from the current point. And
the angle that the line between the two points makes with the positive x-axis.The prompt
sequence to draw a line from a point at 1,1 to a point at a distance of 5 units from the point
(1,1),and at an angle of 30 degrees to the x-axis,is

IInd CLASS
RELATIVE CO-ORDINATE SYSTEM :
In this system the displacements (DX and DY) along X and Y axes are measured
with reference to the previous point rather than the origin. In AutoCAD this system is
designed by the symbol @ and should precede any entry. To draw a rectangle that has
lower left corner a point (1,1) the length of rectangle is 5 units and the width is 3 units .

ABSOLUTE CO-ORDINATE SYSTEM :
In this system the points are located with respect to the origin (0,0).For example
to draw a rectangle x=5 and y= 3 is measured five units horizontally (displacement along the
X-axis )and three units vertically (displacement along the Y-axis)from the origin.

When you start Autocad, the default limits are 12.000,9.000.you can use the limits command
to set up new limits.

F3 -- OBJECT SNAP

GRID : (F7)
grid command can be used to display dotted lines on the screen at predefined spacing.
These dotted lines act as a graph that can be used as reference lines in a drawing. you can
change the distance between the grid lines according to your requirement.

Specify the vertical spacing(Y) <0.5000>: 2

III rd CLASS
SNAP : It is used to set increments for cursor movement. While moving the cursor it is
sometimes difficult to position a point accurately. The SNAP command allows you to set up
an invisible grid that allows the cursor to move in fixed increments from one snap point an
other. The snap points are the points where the invisible snap lines intersect. The snap
spacing is independent of the grid spacing, so the two can have equal or different values.
Command: SNAP
