The costs associated with developing these systems, process, training of staff, manning check-in counters etc, is
the first cost driver.
We estimate this to be US$ 0.25 per international passenger carried. This is based on 10% of passengers being
checked at a cost of $2.50 per check.
Despite all of these efforts, improperly documented passengers still manage to slip through the net which costs
the airlines in terms of inadmissible passenger fines and repatriation/management costs and is estimated to be
US$ 0.28 per international passenger carried. This is based on 1 in 20,000 passengers being carried.
