Date
01 Pumps are installed per manufacturer recommendations and meet
CD documents.
02 Pump should be located so there is sufficient room for inspection,
maintenance and service.
03 Does the NPSHA meet or exceed the NPSHR, as stated by the
pump performance curve.
04 Pump is installed on 4” housekeeping pad with approximately 1”
gap between pad and mounting frame to be grouted after frame is
leveled. (non-shrinking grout should be used) (Base mounted
pump only.
05 Pump mounting frame bolted to concrete pad. (based mounted
pumps only)
06 Suction Diffusers with strainer are installed correctly. (based
mounted pumps only). Suction diffusers are supported properly
on the floor.
07 All piping is supported independently of pump by using pipe
hangers near pump.
08 Suction and discharge of the pumps are provided with specified
isolation valves.
09 Balancing valve and venturi flow meters are installed per CD
documents.
10 Motor installed horizontal position. Insure proper motor support.
(in-line pump only)
11 Suction and discharge piping flanges should align with pump
flanges. (no strain on pump)
12 Stainless steel braided flexible coupling used on pump suction
and discharge line and the all thread shipping rods are removed.
13 Triple duty valve installed on discharge line or check valve if
multiple pumps.
14 Pump installed as per DWG.
15 Pump couplings and shaft is properly aligned.
16 Proper air separator with Expansion tank and cold water make-up
installed on suction side of pump or per DWG or specs.
17 Mechanical seals have zero leakage.

18 Proper electrical power supplied to pump as indicated on
nameplate. Use copper wire only, sized according to NEC
19 Motor’s rotation is correct. Verify on three phase motors.
20 Proper Phase Failure/Under voltage protection installed. (if
required)
21 Motor is protected with correct overload protection.
22 Motor is not overloaded and will not run in overload condition.
Check amperage on each phase while running.
23 Pressure/ temperature gauges are installed at suction and
discharge sides of the pumps.
24 DP for pumps status connections are installed properly.
25 All supporting legs resting on the mechanical room floor shall be
prime coated with two coats of primer.
