WILMINGTON SENIOR CENTER

MEMBER GUIDELINES
Busy active friendly affordable healthy
These words and others can be used to describe the day-to-day life
of the Wilmington Senior Center.
In order to help us provide programs and services to our growing membership as efficiently
and fairly as possible, please remember to follow these guidelines.
TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING
Rides to Center If you want a morning pickup, please call the day before or by 8:00
a.m. on the day you want a ride (phones are open by 7:30 a.m.). If you call later than
8:00, we wont be able to pick you up.
Handicapped Parking Spaces We have 3 handicapped parking spaces across from the
entrance. You may park there only if you have a handicapped parking sticker, license
place or mirror hanger that was assigned to you personally.
The Center sometimes provides dashboard parking passes for street parking by people
going on large trips and attending large events. Unfortunately tickets may be issued despite the pass being present. The Center and Members Council are not responsible for
paying for tickets that may be given.
MEALS
Reservations for meals must be made by 12:30 p.m. the day before. We cannot assume
youll be here for lunch on any given day without your reservation.
For people 60 and older, lunch costs $2.00. For people younger than 60, lunch costs
$4.75. Meals cannot be purchased for $2.00 by a person over 60 and then given to
someone under age 60.
MEMBER/STAFF DEBT POLICY
We understand that money is tight or that sometimes wallets and purses are forgotten.
However, Wilmington Senior Center counts on its members to pay for meals and transportation promptly. Thus, weve instituted the following policy regarding member debt.
Members may NOT owe Wilmington Senior Center more than $10.00 for unpaid meals or
transportation or owe any money for more than 10 business days. If either of these situations occurs, the member will not be able to purchase a noon meal or ride on the bus until
debts are paid.
If special assistance is needed to pay for meals or transportation, please make an appointment to see Social Services Coordinator Patricia Anderson-Rice at 651-3420.
TRIPS
Dont wait until the last minute to sign up for trips! See deadlines for each trip on signup
sheets at Front Desk. Payment is needed to confirm your reservation.
A minimum of 8 people is needed for a trip to take place.
FRONT DESK AND RECEPTIONISTS
The receptionists at our Front Desk get very busy. Please be patient as you wait your turn.
To request a ride or reserve a meal, speak directly to the receptionists and make sure
they write down your request.
We cant make change for $20.00 bills or larger amounts. Please bring only small bills or
coins to pay for trips, lunch and transportation. We love exact change!
Thank You!
