PSL2 with additional following requirements.


As per API Spec 5CT. No L80 9Cr or 13Cr. Chemical composition and percentage of all elements in
steel shall be presented to Client.
All L80 products shall be quenched and tempered as per API Spec 5CT. All upset pipes that are
subjected to heat treatment shall be heat treated after upsetting.
All necessary procedures to maintain lot identity, pipes shall be uniquely numbered in the order
they are heat treated.
Test procedure as per API Spec 5CT. Number of tensile tests per lot shall be arranged in the way
that frequency of tests shall be no less than one in every one hundred pieces (1/100 or higher).
As per API Spec 5CT (Charpy V-notch test procedure as per API Spec 5CT Annex A.10 (SR16) and test
temperature shall be 0C or lower.
All pipes shall be subjected to test procedure and parameters as per API Spec 5CT and shall be
performed full length, threaded and coupled with couplings applied power-tight.

Electromagnetic testing (MFL or MPI). Testing process shall be in accordance with API Spec 5CT
Annex A.3 (SR2) with acceptance level L2 (5%).
Ultrasonic testing shall be performed full length with an automated rotary inspection system to
ensure the sensor travelling on a helical scan path to cover 100% of pipe body surface as per API
Spec 5CT PSL3 (H.17.2).

End Finishing

External coating (mill varnish) shall be applied to each pipe for protection from weathering.

Certification

Results of all tests, API Spec 5CT SR15 and ISO certificates shall be available as well as mill test
certificate (MTC) and certificate of origin (CO).

Marking

Stenciling or a combination of stenciling and stamping as per API Spec 5CT. Marking of each pipe
shall contain the following; manufacturers name or mark, API license, purchase order number, date
of manufacture, size designation, mass designation, grade, process of manufacture, length, type of
thread, heat treatment and supplementary requirements.

Thread Protector & Thread Compound

UV light resistant, closed ended protectors with a small ventilation hole shall be made up properly
to box and pin ends immediately after final inspection. Zinc free API modified thread compound in
accordance with API RP 5A3 shall be applied to threads prior to making up thread protectors.

Packaging

Manufacturer shall present its own packaging procedures to be approved by Company.


Bundles shall be strapped with plastic or nylon straps, belts or cords.
Each bundle shall be furnished with tags that are resistant to wear and include the order
number, manufacturers name and mark, and information on tubular.
