Watch for Spirit of JOY’s 2010 Stewardship Campaign
mailing in early January. Significant increases in giving are
needed in 2010 to fully support SoJ’s ministries. Estimate
of Giving Cards will be received during worship on Sunday,
January 24th as an indication of your plans and
commitment for 2010. Please prayerfully consider how
you may able to grow in your giving… even during these
challenging times!
SoJ Recycles Paper!
Spirit of JOY is now participating in a paper recycling
program that benefits the environment and the church!
Paper Retriever has set up a large yellow and green
dumpster close to where our regular dumpster is located.
You can help the church by bringing any of the items listed
below and depositing them directly into the dumpster. For
every load of paper taken, Spirit of JOY will earn cash!
Bring your old paper and help the environment and raise
money for the church at the same time!
ITEMS WE CAN ACCEPT - Newspaper, magazines, old
mail, newspaper inserts, cardboard boxes (flattened),
catalogs, phone books, office paper, paperback books and
shredded paper (Shredded paper must be in clear bags -
please no black, white or other bags that cannot be seen
through.)
ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT - Paper or cardboard with
food on it (pizza boxes, used paper plates, etc.), cans,
bottles - including plastic or glass, regular household trash
Please help us fill the dumpster often. Every pickup brings
us cash! Encourage your friends or neighbors to drop off
these items as well. Please do not bring items into the
building. Put them directly into the dumpster pictured
below.

February 17
Join us Wednesday, February 17th at 7 p.m. for Spirit
of JOY’s annual Ash Wednesday worship. This unique
and meaningful worship “experience” offers a time to
reflect in a variety of ways and encounter a powerful
“fresh start” through the wonder of God’s grace.
Congregational Meeting,

February 24
Spirit of JOY’s annual congregational meeting will be
held on Wednesday, February 24th at 7 p.m. in the
Worship Center. The meeting agenda will include a
review of 2009 ministries, adopting a 2010 budget,
and electing new Leadership Team members and the
2011 Nominating Committee. All confirmed members
are asked to attend.
JoyFest2010 Planning Team
Mem bers Needed
Spirit of JOY’s 5th Annual JoyFest will be held the
Saturday after Easter, April 10, 2010. A Planning Team
for this major community event is being formed. To
serve, sign up at the Welcome Center soon.
Josh Linm an To Serve As
SoJ’s Media
and Com m unications Director
Josh Linman will be returning to Central Florida for the
first six months of 2010 and has agreed to serve as
volunteer Media and Communications Director at SoJ
on a part-time basis while he charts his next career
destination. Josh has most recently served as the
Weekend Worship Producer at United Methodist
Church of the Resurrection in Kansas City where he
supervised the technical aspects of this 14,000
member congregation’s contemporary worship
services. At Spirit of JOY, once the Audio/Video/Lighting
upgrades are installed in SoJ’s Worship Center and
Gathering Room, Josh will help integrate this new
technology into our weekly worship and other ministry
activities. He will also oversee the design of visual
worship elements used at SoJ, as well as direct web
site design and utilization, print marketing, and other
forms of online communications. Please extend a
warm welcome back to Josh when you see him!
