A little over a week ago ABBEY KILLIAN came to
my office with her family and we talked about what
it means to become a Christian. Abbey prayed to
receive Jesus into her heart and make Him Savior
and Lord of her life. A couple of Sundays ago, she
made her profession of faith and will be baptized
sometime soon. Our church is filled with young
families pointing their children to Christ. I’m
thrilled that I was a part of Abbey’s conversion
experience and I look forward to her baptism. May
we join together as Abbey’s family of faith praying
for her and doing our best to create the best
environment for nurturing discipleship.
Sunday night’s SOUPER BOWL FOR CARING
party was a great time of fellowship with churches
from all over the community and seeing students
collect canned goods for United Care. Loads of
canned goods were collected. Around twenty senior
high students were present along with fifteen or so
adult sponsors. The Methodists brought wonderful
food along with some of our members. A big thanks
goes to Larry Anglin for providing an awesome
projector to watch the Super Bowl. We look
forward to doing all we can to reach the youth of
Hamilton with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
If you have been absent lately from worshipping at
First Baptist, you have been missing out! Jacob, the
Sanctuary Choir, Ben, Maria, Peter, and a host of
others have been doing a tremendous job leading us
on Sundays. I hope if you have been gone for
whatever reason that you will come back into the
fold and experience some really special worship
times.
Just to keep you up to speed… Our Youth and
Personnel Committees have interviewed two
candidates and have two additional resumes to
review for our vacant Youth Minister position.
They are working diligently and prayerfully for God
to lead us to the right person to lead our student
ministry. I hope you will continue to be in prayer
for this search process.
