Tilos 7 licensing general overview

Provided licence information:
Two different numbers are provided when you
Licence email from your supplier
purchased Tilos licence. With this information you are
Product-ID: TFS-09999AB00CD (sample)
able to licence Tilos to be used on one computer (The
Serial number: 5a9Bj-76AaB-2yD3L-DWCEF-iB4eh-4ykgY (sample)
licence is locked to this computer). Please save the
provided information on a secure place. You may need
it for moving the licence to another computer in the future.
Tilos single user licence (TFS)

The licence is locked for the computer on which the licence has been
activated. (Note: Single user licences do not work in Terminalserver
environment)

Tilos USB licence portable(TUS)

The licence is locked for the USB stick on which the licence has been
activated.
(Note: USB licences do not work in Terminalserver environments)

Tilos multi user licence (TFN, TSN)

The licence is locked to the serverpath on which the licence files have
been activated.

First startup: Set up the licence

The first time Tilos is started ,the Tilos Welcome dialog is displayed. The licensing setup for this installation
can be started.
Choose this option to start the licensing process for a new licence.
Choose this option to connect a new Tilos installation to an existing licence.
Choose this option to start the demo mode.
Choose this option to upgrade your existing Version 6 licence to Version 7.

What is happening during the licence setup?

You will be prompted for the Product-ID and the serial number. This data will be provided from
your supplier.
You will be prompted for a licence folder. Tilos users MUST have permission Modify for the licence
folder. The path of the licence folder will be recorded in the config.ini file: (e.g:
ProtectionPath=C:\ProgramData\TILOS\Licence\)
You will be asked for your company name and email address.
The licence data will be checked and activated online. A connection to the internet is required.
Once the licence is activated it is locked to the computer and cannot be used concurrently on
another machine.
Note: For more detailed information about the licensing process please refer to the online help.
Note: You can execute the licence activation only one time per licence.

Multi user licence: Connecting the client to the licence folder

For network installations (TFN) we recommend to install Tilos on every client computer. At the first
startup of any client installation the Tilos Welcome dialog is displayed again. Choose the option
Connect to existing licence path and browse the licence folder. After clicking OK this installation is
connected to the selected licence folder.
For Terminalserver installations just install and licence Tilos one time. Every user has to start the
Tilos7.exe in the Program folder. The correspondant licence folder is used.
For the named user licence model (TSN) an additional text file named TilosUser.dat can be found
in the Licence folder. To add another named user just add a new line containing the windows user
name. For read only access the TilosUser.dat file can be located in another folder. Edit the Tilos.dat
file in the licence folder and change the parameter TILOSUserPath= to the new folder path

Following startups and Demonstration Mode

During startup Tilos checks the licence each time. If you have no licence or there are some problems with
your existing licence, you will be able to work in the demo mode.
Choose
the option during the startup of Tilos. A maximum of ten tasks can be saved or printed in the Demo mode.

In case of problems with the licencing

1. Check , if the environment has changed (e.g. new Hard discs or computers).
2. You can use also Help / Licence manager to get more information about the licence.
3. Contact your supplier.

Moving the licence to another computer

1. Start Tilos (on only one client)
2. Choose the Menu item Help / Licence Manager
3. Choose Deactivate Licence and follow the instructions. An internet connection is needed!
At the end of this process the licence is deactivated
4. Install the licence with the original licence information on a new computer (See First startup)
