THE BATTLE IN YOUR MIND

Key Scriptures: Ephesians 6:1011; 2 Cor. 10:45; John 10:10

12For we wrestle not against
flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high
places.
10 The thief comes only to
steal and kill and destroy; I
have come that they may have
life, and have it to the full.
3 But I am afraid that just as Eve
was deceived by the serpents
cunning, your minds may
somehow be led astray from
your sincere and pure devotion
to Christ.
A BRIEF INTRODUCTION:
As a Christian we are involved
in a war but this battle is
invisible.
The battle is spiritual, not
physical. The battlefield is our
mind and our thought life.
Many of our problems are
rooted in thinking patterns that
actually produce the problems
we have.
If we have a negative mind, we
will have a negative life.

The battle for your mind

continues to this day. Your
thoughts can still conform to
the pattern of the world; your
thinking can still be deceived.
I. UNDERSTANDING THE MIND

The mind is the center of

your judgments Is the place
where thinking takes place and
feelings are created
The mind is essentially the
seat of your thoughts Is
the main source of reason and
understanding
Is the place where most
spiritual warfare takes place
1. DAVID 1And Satan stood
up
against
Israel,
and
provoked David to number
Israel. (1 Chr.21:1 )
2. JUDAS 2And supper being
ended, the devil having now
put into the heart of Judas
Iscariot, Simon's son, to
betray him (John 13:2)
3. ANNANIAS 3 Then Peter
said, Ananias, how is it that
Satan has so filled your
heart that you have lied to
the Holy Spirit and have
kept for yourself some of the
money you received for the
land? (Acts 5:3 )

THREE POSSIBLE SOURCES:

1.
It can originate within
ourselves 7For as he thinketh in his
heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he
to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
(Pro. 23:7)
2. It can come from God 17Jesus
replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son
of Jonah, for this was not revealed to
you by man, but by my Father in
heaven. (Matt. 16:17)
3. It can come from Satan Jesus
turned and said to Peter, "Get behind
me, Satan! You are a stumbling block

to me; you do not have in mind the

things of God, but the things of men."
(Matthew 16:23)
II. SATANS CHIEF TARGET: The
Mind (Gen. 3:1-11)
He Questioned Gods Word
Did God really say (V.1)

He Denied Gods Word

You will not surely die (v.4)

He Substituted Gods Word

You will be like God (v.4c)
Our minds:

Source
of
human
understanding

Where God communicates and

reveal His will

It affects your whole being

It affects your actions

A wrong thought life will result

in wrong living.

MOST
STRONGHOLDS
IN
SATAN USES

COMMON
THE
MIND

Its a lie that Satan whispers in

to our mind as a simple
thought. Then it grows up to a
giant that control our will and
life against Gods plan
A stronghold is a faulty
thinking pattern based on lies
and deception.
Strongholds are builds upon
deception and lies that we've
accepted into our minds. What
strongholds can do is cause us
to think in ways which block us
from God's best.

1. Doubtful Mind: This mind

causes a person to doubt.

2. Confused Mind: They are

unable to prioritize, organize
and categorize their thoughts in
order to make sense of them.
3. Troubled Mind: This produces
anxiety, worry and fear.
4.
Critical Mind: This mind
causes a person to be jealous,
judgmental, critical and bitter.
5. Wounded Mind: This mind
causes a person to identify
themselves as a victim. They
are deeply wounded and easily
offended.
6. Suspicious Mind: This mind
causes
a
person
to
be
distrustful.
7. Arrogant Mind: This mind
causes
a
person
to
see
themselves as superior to
others and becomes blinded to
new truths when they come
from a source they disrespect.
8. Self-centered Mind: This mind
weighs everything by what can
be personally gained from it.
9. Stubborn Mind: This person
closes off their mind to anything
new and different, period,
believing that to do so is a sign
of strength.
10.Complacent Mind: This mind
causes people to be lazy and
procrastinates a lot.
11.Lustful Mind: This mind causes
people to think inappropriate
sexual thoughts about others.
These fantasies crowd out
anything useful from entering
the mind.

12.Insecure Mind: This mind

causes
a
person
to
see
themselves as inferior to others
causing timidity.
III.WINNING
YOUR MIND

THE

BATTLE

IN

1. Study and think about Gods

Word continually and let His
thoughts fill our mind.

3. Get rid of evil thoughts (2

Cor. 10:4-5)
4

The weapons we fight with are not

the weapons of the world. On the
contrary, they have divine power to
demolish strongholds. 5We demolish
arguments and every pretension that
sets itself up against the knowledge of
God, and we take captive every
thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Do not let this Book of the Law

depart from your mouth; meditate on
it day and night, so that you may be
careful to do everything written in it.
Then you will be prosperous and
successful. (Joshua 1:8)
11
Your word I have treasured in my
heart, That I may not sin against You.
(Psalm 119:11NASB)
2.

Fill you mind with good

thoughts
8

(Phil.
4:8-9)
Finally,
brothers,
whatever is true, whatever is noble,
whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirableif anything is excellent or
praiseworthythink
about
such
things. 9Whatever you have learned or
received or heard from me, or seen in
meput it into practice. And the God
of peace will be with you.

4. Dont
give
Satan
the
opportunity to program your
mind (James 4:7)
7

Submit yourselves, then, to God.

Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you.
Test every thought.
Helmet your head.
Nourish a godly mind.
5. Decide to renew your mind
(Romans 12:2)
Do not conform any longer to the
pattern of this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Then you will be able to test
and approve what God's will ishis
good, pleasing and perfect will.

GOD BLESS YOU!!!!
