Subject:

Consideration of a Resolution entering into a contract extension


with Burghardt+Dore for the regional marketing program

At the Provisional Budget meeting of 1 June, Council directed staff to return on 15


June with two contract extension options regarding the Burghardt+Dore (B+D)
regional marketing program. One option was to be for six (6) months; the other for
eighteen (18) months in order to utilize B+D through the October 2016 centennial
celebration.
A resolution is attached, as are the two options. The resolution will be adjusted to
reflect the Councils decision on the term of the agreement with B+D once Council
acts. The existing contract expires as of 30 June.

RESOLUTION 2015A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO AMEND THE EXISTING
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSULTING AGREEMENT WITH
BURGHARDT+DORE FOR DESTINATION MARKETING SERVICES FOR A TERM
OF XXX MONTHS AND IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $XXXXX
WHEREAS, Burghardt+Dore provides destination marketing services for the City;
and
WHEREAS, the contract with Burghardt+Dore was originally entered into in
approximately 2006 and a new contract was entered into each fiscal year thereafter;
and
WHEREAS, Staff is proposing that the Council authorize the City Administrator to
amend the professional services consulting contract for a XXX month term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA does hereby:
1. Authorize the City Administrator to Amend the Professional Services
Consulting Agreement with Burghardt+Dore for Destination Marketing
Services for a term of XXX months in an Amount not to Exceed $XXXXX

Amendment to Contract
ADM-PCS-Burgh-013-13-14
1. This amendment (the "Amendment") is made by City of Carmel-by-the-Sea and Jeff
Burghardt, parties to agreement ADM-PCS-Burgh-013-13-14 (the "Agreement") dated
July 1, 2014.
2. The Agreement is amended as follows:
a. The Term of the Agreement is modified to be extended to include the period of
July 1, 2015 through December 30, 2015, and
b. The Compensation of the Agreement is modified to not exceed $60,000
3. Except as set forth in this Amendment, the Agreement is unaffected and shall
continue in full force and effect in accordance with its terms. If there is conflict between
this amendment and the Agreement or any earlier amendment, the terms of this
amendment will prevail.

Amendment to Contract
ADM-PCS-Burgh-013-13-14
1. This amendment (the "Amendment") is made by City of Carmel-by-the-Sea and Jeff
Burghardt, parties to agreement ADM-PCS-Burgh-013-13-14 (the "Agreement") dated
July 1, 2014.
2. The Agreement is amended as follows:
