STAGES OF LESSON
Warm up
Estimated time: 5 min.
T creates the atmosphere to introduce his topic. Ss will have to watch a commercial
and explain the message.
Activity 1 Customer society
Teaching aim: Ss should match words with the titles from the picture;
Learning aim: to use adjective correctly in descriptions
Procedure: matching words
Classroom management: class activity
Aids: workbook, posters, cards, video projector
Estimated time: 10 min.
Description of the activity: Ss will read some words and associate them with the
title of the text. Ss will have to say if they agree or disagree with the author. Ss will
have to sustain their opinions with arguments.

Activity 2 Listening
Teaching aim: listen for specific information
Procedure: Ss should listen to a dialog between Grant and Lucy for specific
information
Classroom management: individual and whole class activity
Aids: workbook, posters, video projector
Estimated time: 14 min.
Description of the activity: Ss will be asked to listen to a dialog between Grant and
Lucy and answer some questions. Ss will listen to the text again and they will have to
complete some sentences.
Skills: reading, writing, speaking
Feed-back: starting from Claires likes and dislikes, Ss will have to answer some
questions.
Activity 3 Practice

Teaching aim: to identify common and distinct features


Learning aim: Ss should give advice using specific expressions.
Procedure: starting from the previous activity, Ss should fill in some sentences with
some proper words.
Classroom management: group and whole class activity
Aids: workbook, posters, video projectors
Estimated time: 10 min.
Description of the activity: Ss will have to read some words. In groups, they will
have to put the words in gaps in order to have a correct sentence.
Feed-back: At the end of the activity, Ss will have to check up the answers.

Activity 4 Speaking
Teaching aim: to speak on a certain topic
Learning aim: Ss should use the information and make up a dialog.
Procedure: Ss will have to discuss about their problems and give each other advice.

Description of the activity: Ss will scan some statements and will try to find possible
solutions.
