Manhole Style Models

Outdoor Distribution (15.5 kV through 38 kV)

The unique benefits of S&Cs Vista Underground Distribution Switchgear are now available in 15.5-kV, 29-kV, and
38-kV models for manhole installation.
Manhole Style Vista UDS Model 110 features a manually operated, three-pole load-interrupter switch suitable
for switching 600-ampere main feeders.
Manhole Style Vista UDS Model 101 features a threepole, microprocessor-controlled vacuum fault interrupter
in series with a manually operated three-pole disconnect.
Its suitable for switching and protecting 600-ampere main
feeders, 600-ampere or 200-ampere radials, or networks.
Model 101 is available in short-circuit ratings of 12.5 kA
and 25 kA RMS symmetrical.
A portable motor operator is available for operating
the load-interrupter switch or fault interrupter from a
remote location.

The load-interrupter switch or vacuum fault interrupters are completely sealed in a rugged, cylindrical stainless-steel tank insulated with SF6 gas. Cable entrance and
exit is via 600-ampere bushings or optional 200-ampere
bushing wells.
Like all Vista UDS, Manhole Style models feature
unprecedented gas-tight construction. All gas seals have
been extensively tested and field-proven, and the entire
switchgear unit is suitable for submersion in the most
hostile environments.
With its compact design, rugged construction, and
internal visible open point, Manhole Style Vista UDS is
perfect for applications where installation space is limited.

operate the switch or fault interrupter from a remote
location. . . particularly useful for units located in
underground vaults with other energized equipment.

Outdoor Distribution
The extremely large viewing window allows a clear
view of the three-position (closed-open-grounded) switch
or disconnect, with its obvious open point. The integrated
grounded position allows either incoming or outgoing
cables to be internally grounded.

Manhole Style Vista UDS can be installed on a stand or

directly on the floor. With the optional mounting bracket,
it can be mounted on a wall. Virtually any orientation or
mounting style can be accommodated.
