sawthatthewheatflourofsiddooturnedintosomethingsolid.Dishearted
(andhungry)hereturnedbackhomeonlytodiscoverlaterthatthewheat
flouredsiddoohasturnedintogold.
Itmustbementionedherethatthespiritualityandreligiouspracticesin
Himalayaisveryuniqueanddifferssignificantlyfromwhatispracticedinthe
plains.Truthbetold,allreligiousandspiritualpracticesoriginatedthe
traditionofHimalayaandtransformedandevolved(ordevolved)invarious
sectsofthepresenttimes.

practicesaredevisedforproperflowofdivineenergiesofthegoddessyoginis.
TherearespecialtimesofthedaywhenYoginiChawalisdivinefeminie
energiesbecomeactivearound3:30amto5am,thenduring1to2.30pmin
afternoonandonehourintheeveningtwilightatdusk.Eachyoginihasher
ownmantra.

ThevillageweretheYoginiresidesisnearBaliChowkiofHimachalPradesh.
Eventodayvillagesabidebythekaulacharpracticesoftheyoginis.Onesuch
traditionisofquietness.Eventodaynobodymakesunnecessarynoisearound
theyoginisplace.Usingironweaponsoraxeforcuttingtreesinherareais
forbidden.Eventofeedthesheepandcows,localsdonotuseirontoolsbut
ratherpluckoutthegrasswithhand.Thereasonbehindthisisveryintricate

andcannotbeclearlyexplainedtoeveryone.Somemightconsiderthisas
superstitiouspracticebutthatwouldreflectanaiveandunevolved
mentalconstitution.PerhapsthatswhyKaulachaarpracticesarehiddenand
notexposedtogeneralpublicbutonlytodeserving
sadhakas.

fromthisDeviusingspecifictantrasadhana,thentheseganasthrewthis
tantrikdownthesteepvalleytoinstantdeath.
Thishappenedfewyearsago.Thevillagersthenhadtocleartheareaanddo
purificationritesbecauseofsuchdeath.Itisnotallowedtodosuchsadhana
nearDeviYoginiChawalisplace.
Attheoutsettherearemanyweirdandunconventionalrulesandregulations
regardingapproachingtheYoginiandlocalsverystrictlyabidebythem.But
withmoderncivilizationanddoubtingmindreachingthesesimpletonssomeof
thetraditionsarebeingchallenged.Manyyoginisandtheirenergieshave
stoppedallcontactswithmortalsbecauseofthischangeinmind.So
farYoginiChawalisareaandthevillagersaroundherarenotsomuch
transformedbymoderntimes.Becauseofthatperhapstheplaceisbuzzing
withspiritualenergiesstill.
Fewdaysago,Iwentthere,climbedonehillfor45minutes,thendownavalley
toYoginiChawalisplace.Theareawasverypeaceful.Beautifultreesandbirds
allaround.IwaslatertoldaboutpoisonoussnakestherebutIdidntseeany.
ThereisasmallshrinemadefortheDeviYogini,unfortunatelyIdidnthave

camera/phoneatthetimesocannotshowthepicture.Perhapssomeother
time.Evenfewroundsofmantrajaapgivesstrongspiritualexperiencethere
forareceptiveandawareperson.Lateron,Iwasmadeawarethatitisnot
propertovisittheYoginilikethatandthereareformalvisithoursanddaysfor
suchvisits.
