PARISH SUMMER FETE
It has been decided to have a change from the summer fete this year.
However we do still need to raise money for parish funds.
We need fund raising ideas, one will need to include a Grand Raffle
( this is a really easy way to raise between £700 - £800 after expenses).
If you have any ideas or suggestions please place them in the box in the porch at
St. Felix or speak to Sylvia - Ft. 275370 or Jenny - Ft.671217 as soon as possible.
We can all play a part however small or large
and your parish really does need you to be involved
and any ideas will be welcome.

PROCEEDS CHURCH DEV FUND
LENT FAMILY FAST DAY 26TH FEB
This is the 50th anniversary of Family Fast Day.
The first one, in 1960, was organized by the Catholic
Women’s League, The Union of Catholic Mothers and
the Board of Catholic Women in response to a crisis in
Dominica. The C.W.L. will be holding Hunger Lunches
every Friday during Lent at 12.30p.m. in the Church
Hall. All the money raised will be going to CAFOD so
please give us your support so that we can make this an
extra-special year. The CAFOD slogan for Lent is
“Give it up” so let us give up Friday lunches and help
CAFOD to feed the hungry.

ASH WEDNESDAY, 17th FEBRUARY
MASS WITH ASHES:

St Cecilia’s: 7.30pm
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting and abstinence. Fasting
means that the amount of food we eat is considerably reduced. Abstinence
means that we give up particular kinds of food or drink, for example meat and
alcohol. Friday, and especially the Fridays of Lent,
recalls the crucifixion of Our Lord as we prepare for Easter.
Fridays are set aside as special days of penance.
There are information sheets with suggested Lenten practices
available in all porches. Please take these sheets and use the ideas
as you wish to mark this special penitential season
of preparation for Easter
