Reflection Paper

Ive spent my high school years in this University. And as of now Im a 3 rd

year BS Accountancy college student. I dont know how many times Ive read
the Vision Mission and Objectives of my school. To be honest Im not aware and
curious about this stuff, but that was before. As I entered me college life, little
by little the essence and importance of this VMO sinked in to me.
Each and every one of us has its own vision. Each of us has its own
mission and objectives in life. The Vision answers the question What the school
aims in the future? What this school would like to achieve or accomplish?
This represents a comprehensive and clear picture of their students years from
now. To simplify Vision means the primary goals of the university. Relating to
UNCs vision, I could see that this university is really striving hard to be the
center of academic excellence. It contains a high-quality and inspiring vision
statement for us students. It stretches the imagination of us students while
providing direction and clarity. This University has a good vision statement that I
think helps informing direction and set priorities while challenging us to grow.
The mission statement includes the thoughts about how this University
will operate and what they will offer to its students. It involves the excellent
professors, , curricular programs, buildings and innovation of technology in my
university such as the E-library and the new covered court. This University does
not only give importance to academic health of students but also for the
physical health. Relating to the University mission, well, I can see that the UNC
administration is really active in this matter. They dont let this University to just
be a school. As the University motto stated Non schol sed vit which means
Not of school but of life. Indeed, I just dont see it just as a school teaching
stuffs but a school that molds and prepares us students to face such
circumstances in life.
The words goals and objectives are often confused with each other. Goals which
is the vision of this University is in broader sense or bigger picture while the
objectives are those more specific that also needs specific actions that supports
attainment of the primary goal or vision and thats what I noticed in
understanding the goals and objectives of my school. To achieve such goal, one
must realize that this university does not actually work alone to make you
achieve your goals but you have to create the same vision in life and strive hard
to achieve that certain goal. Well, I can see the UNC graduates are becoming
successful in a way that this University really just proved that those vision
mission and objectives are not just statements printed in boards but achieved,

accomplished and attained by the UNC students through their effort, knowledge
and skills. This serves as a general guide and an inspiration for us students to
get back up and strive hard to make our Alma Mater proud.
